Does streaming games on league pass take up a lot of internet? I'm not very good with this kinda stuff... our plan at home is 150 GB for the month. That should be sufficient right?

Yeah I have 100gb/100gb peak/offpeak, and I'm assuming by the quality that's it around 700mb a game? Maybe 800mb? I think I'd be fine for league pass right?

Regular games are about 1-1.5gb per, high def games are anywhere between 2 and 3gb from what I remember when I was keeping track of them.

Is HD a different package or is 3000kb/s video quality considered the HD stream?

Yeah last year they just had "HD" and "SD" but obviously it's changed now. This is how it works out bandwidth wise, I just calculated it properly:

Code: Select all
3,000 kbps = 1.35 GB/h
1,600 kbps =  720 MB/h
   800 kbps =  360 MB/h
   400 kbps =  180 MB/h

I think 1,600 and above is HD. I tested all of them, 400 is god awful, 800 is not much better, 1,600 is good and 3,000 is great... but the difference between 3,000 and 1,600 is so much less noticable than the difference between 1,600 and 800. So I guess if you're on a lowish cap you'd be best going with 1,600, because each game goes for close to two hours (maybe more).

I guess if I'm only watching Lakers games and they are around 3GB each, I'd be ok with my 150 GB. :)

Alright cheers and even when its a break for a time out or whatever, your still streaming at the same rate, so if you watched from start to finish and didnt stop the stream, you'd be looking at 2.5-3 hours..

Anyone else used the LP trial/or buy it? I know the games were on TV, but Dad was watching tv and cause i wanted to watch it from the start couldnt watch it on the non IQ TV.

Anyway was really good, quality was great- had it at 1600 kb/s and as Jae said, the difference between 1600 and 3000 isnt that noticeable so 1600 is probs the way to go. And was smooth as, looking forward to watching all my Nuggets games :D

Caught the games on One HD today but might give the LP trial a go before November 2nd. I don't think I'll invest in it beyond that though.

ONE's Saturday night not-so-classic NBA Classics are continuing into the season (game three of this year's finals), while the Tuesday slot is now occupied by Andrew Bogut Presents NBA Primetime, whatever the hell that is.

EDIT: Just saw a commercial for it during the NBL game, the Bucks' 'game of the week' is apparently on every Tuesday on ONE.

Nice that they have a slot for classic games but yeah, they could definitely pick them better.

The Tuesday night selection was alright, as was last year's. The Saturday slot seems to be more about promoting their regular coverage than actually having classic games, though. Which is fair enough, and they're not exactly the worst games ever, but since I have the previous two games on DVD already, and expect the 2010 Finals on Blu-Ray some time in November, it doesn't really interest me.

Yep, read somewhere he is gonna be introducing one Bucks game each week on One HD. Or something like that.

This week's offerings have turned out pretty well with Utah's comebacks and the Nuggets/Lakers game. On paper I hadn't picked the Jazz games to be as exciting as they were, so that was a pleasant surprise.

This week, we've got:

Wednesday: LA Lakers @ Milwaukee
Thursday: Phoenix @ Miami
Friday: Phoenix @ Orlando, Denver @ Portland
Saturday: Oklahoma City @ Boston

If I had to guess, I'd say Denver @ Portland will be the game of the week.

Big call, cause there's alot of good games there.

Also anyone catch the Lakers v Nuggets? Was very weird, just as i expected LA to start blowing us out they suck it up and we win.

I thought it might be the closest contest, but I've probably not given Phoenix enough credit. The Thunder haven't been that hot so I could see them crumbling in Boston and the fourth quarter not being all that exciting.
