I had already looked for a more appropriate section. NBA Live Dynasty Stories was the only other one that seemed relevant but this one was more open since I dont really have a story
Edit....Oh yeah Virtual hardwood. but not enough people will see it in there

06 remains my favourite, but 2005 and 2004 were also very solid releases, pretty much on par with it in my book. 2000 was also a high point, if not the high point in the series (for its time).

2003 for me. Just cause it was the game that introduce me to Live.

Same reason. I also don't own the other games. I've played 04, 06, 07, and 08 and for some reason I just liked 2003 the best.

I owed every Live from '00 to '07 with exception of '01 & '03. '00 & '02 on PSX, the rest on PC. My favourite had to be Live '05, closely followed by Live '04 then Live '00. I didn't really rate the other releases that decade as much as those three.

Come on man you're missing out on 2003!

Never had Live for GameCube, but I had NBA 2K2. Don't know what happened to that.

A lot of people weren't that keen on NBA Live 2003 back in the day, truth be told. Given X's favourite release from that period was NBA Live 2005, I think it's safe to say he wouldn't have been a fan of 2003.

2003 was fun and revolutionary, 2005 was great overall but had that crappy fast break issue. I loved 06 like I did 2003 but my pick is 2004.

The game really was before it's time with the dynasty cutscenes and "little things" (something EA has never really implemented into the game since) dynamic attendance, the only NBA game to use draft classes from the NCAA game, the dynasty ticker. If you can look past the terrible skating and tweak the sliders to help the canned blocking the game is just brilliant.
Opinions are my own.

I should clarify; 2003 had too many issues to be beloved by many of us who are the geekiest of sim geeks. ;)

I loved 2003 back in the day. I just remember the absurd dunks in traffic and every time you blocked a shot the ball went flying 15 feet into the stands

I believe that was the first live to have the dribble controls on a joystick, I really liked that and I think that's why I loved that game so much... despite its many many flaws.

I also loved the special skills in 2006. The ability to just posterize guys with a big dunker or throw sweet passes with a good enough passer. I really liked old Live games, the new ones were just too stiff and awkward for me to get into.

Two of the reasons I grew weary of it. ;) You're correct as well, NBA Live 2003 introduced Freestyle Control and thus right stick dribbling to the series.

NBa live 2005.

I can't remember the gameplay of 2003, I think it has MJ, right?

But my first NBA game in my PS2 is live 2005. Love the dunk contest.xD And the gameplay.

Michael Jordan was available as a legend in NBA Live 2000-2004, in the active rosters as a member of the Wizards in NBA Live 2002 and NBA Live 2003 and also in the free agent pool in NBA Live 2004 if I recall correctly.

Are you talking about NBA Live 99 or NBA 09: The Inside by Sony?

In 2003, MJ either retires after the first or the second year of the franchise. If he doesn't retire, he drops from like 88 overall rating down to the upper 60s, his stats drop off the edge and he's never on a team.
