The Van Gundy Rule

NBA to ban mock turtle necks worn by coaches

"I want them to at least name the rule after me," Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said. "Somebody has their Bird rights. Larry Bird got that rule named after him. I want it to be the Van Gundy Rule."

Between this and the zero tolerance for post-whistle reactions, the NBA has guaranteed some quality basketball this season. (Y)

One more strict rule, and I guess it's no NBA for me this season, not even Rockets games. :lol:

Houndy, if they took that rule out, I would definitely stop watching. You can't take the epicness of a mustache out of basketball. :P

If George Steinbrenner can get his players to cut their long hair, David Stern can make his players shave their mustaches.
