Kobe Bryant (6'6, 205 lbs, 34 y/o, Los Angeles Lakers) VS LeBron James (6'8, 250 lbs, 27 y/o, Cleveland Cavaliers)
The second episode of 'Versus' featured arguably the 2 best players this generation has seen - Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. Kobe Bryant showed that age isn't slowing him down, as he beat LeBron James 11-7.
Kobe missed the three to get possession and LeBron started with 2 straight dunks, giving him a 2-0 lead. Kobe responded with consecutive trips to the rack, leading 3-2 after an 18-footer.
Things got more physical and both players were sloppier, as a lot of fouls and turnovers were committed. LeBron tied the game at 6 with his 3rd dunk of the game.
But there was no stopping Kobe. He drove to the hole, hit a fade-away jumper, was great defensively - showing why he is a 2-time Finals MVP. LeBron couldn't use his height advantage nor his strength. Kobe pulled ahead, 9-6.
LeBron answered with a long jumper, making it 9-7. But he gave Kobe too much space on the final possession and Kobe knocked down his only three-pointer, also his only attempt fro behind the arc.
Tune in next week to see Carl Cruz of the Chicago Bulls go up against his teammate Derrick Rose.
Stats :
James : 7-10 FG, 0-1 3PT, 0 off rebounds, 3 total
Bryant : 10-13 FG, 1-1 3PT, 0 off rebounds, 3 total

Behind the Public Eye - Part 1
It's 4 hours until the trade deadline and Bucks General Manager Shawn Kemp is in his office with head coach Scott Skiles. The Bucks have just lost to the Minnsota Timberwolves.
"Do you think we should try to get someone? I mean, this is our last chance if we want to improve before the Playoffs." Kemp asked.
"I don't think we need anyone, do you?" Skiles responded quickly.
"Well we could always improve. And many names are thrown out there, Carmelo, Jason Richardson, Chris Paul and so on.. We could throw a package together..."
Skiles quickly stood up from his chair and said with a commanding voice : "Okay, let me make one thing clear - Brandon, Michael, Hakim and Andrew are not going anywhere. If you can get Carmelo for James White, go for it."
"Okay, now that's just stupid, Scott. I'm just concerned. Just look out there - Miami got Bosh, Chicago got Boozer, Washington got Ginobili here in the East. The West is even tougher, Golden State is packed, as are the Spurs. And we just lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Elite teams don't lose to the Timberwolves."
"Look, some teams could be more stacked then us, but we have a team. What were the names you mentioned before?"
"Richardson, Melo and Chris Paul. Richardson would probably be the easiest to get."
"Richardson - are you kidding me? We have Michael, whose better then him in every way. Richardson is a cancer to a team. Just look at the Suns right now, he is wrecking the team from the inside."
"Okay, what about Paul?"
"I like him, but I don't want to give up Brandon. He is very coachable and works hard. Chris Paul I hear is very coachable too, but I believe in Brandon. I think we have found our PG of the future."
"So that leaves Melo. But I guess you're not happy with that too, huh?"
"Well, yes." Skiles admitted. "I'm pretty sure Denver wants Brandon or Hakim as well as Shane, so no."
"Okay..." Kemp though to himself, looking at the piece of paper in front of him with the team roster. "So you're satisfied with the team and everyone on the roster?"
"You can say that. Things click well tight now. If you do get an offer, make sure to call me first before accepting or declining it."
"For sure.."
The phone rings. Kemp answered.
"Hello. Oh, hi. Is everything okay? Oh, could you hang on for a minute?" Kemp lowered the phone for a second, covering the microphone with his palm. "Scott, could you step outside for a moment? This is kind of personal"
"Sure. It's getting late anyway. But I'll be up. It's just 3 hours left til the deadline, so keep me informed with the moves."
"Sure. Have a nice evening and I'll see you tomorrow in practice"
Kemp and Skiles shook hands and Skiles stepped out.
"Yes, hello, sorry about that. What was it again? Not another one? Dear god... How much child support does she want? Well, you're my lawyer, work it out. I wish you could get me out of one of these."
Kemp hung up the phone, sighed, and fell into his chair. It would be a long night.

The players were out to dinner in Milwaukee after the loss to the Timberwolves. Brandon Jennings, Michael Redd and James White shared a table.
"So, you worried?" Jennings asked White.
"Not really, should I be?" White was arrogant.
"Well, you did just play just a minute today and you haven't.."
"Hold on! Do you not want me here or something?"
"No, it's just that I've seen so many guys get traded. Kemp isn't shy about trades either."
"I would love to stay. I haven't had the chance to really prove myself."
"Well, you could show a better work ethic." Michael Redd interrupted the two.
White was confused : "What do you mean?"
"Well, let's take today. The pre-game shoot-around was at 3, you arrived at 3.15, that doesn't really help."
"Stop stabbing me in the back guys! I thought you liked me as a teammate. All right, give me Kemp's number, I'm gonna call him right now and ask to be traded."
"Oh come on, we didn't mean it like that." Redd said while padding White on the shoulder. "It's just that coach trusted you, you're on the bench in a uniform, not in a suit."
"Fine. But any of you guys worried?
"They're not gonna trade me. I'll be here for years." Jennings said with a confident voice.
"I like your confidence, boy. I think I'm safe too, but you never know what's going on in the GM's head. I hear he has another lawsuit in his hands."
Jennings laughed and finished his steak. At the time, Hakim Warrick passed their table, spinning the keys of his Ferrari 458 around his finger.
"Hey Hakim, you think you might get traded tonight?" Jennings asked.
"Hah, I dropped 35 and 10 tonight, I'm safe." Warrick responded confidently.
Right at that moment, Warrick cell phone rang. He put the keys of his Ferrari in his pocket, took his cell phone out of his other pocket. He looked at the screen, paused and said : "Shit, it's the GM."

Axel. wrote:Hmm... Sort of like my loss against the Sixers. Warrick shot the ball pretty well, 15-18 is amazing.Too bad that can't be said about everyone else.

Anyways, I'm happy Kobe won. Now he just has to beat me.
And surprising you lost to the Wolves...

I'm not so sure if i'm him, Kwame had a 30 and 19 game and was traded afterward (Mitch got fooled there)
Behind the Public Eye - Part 2
"You gonna answer that?" Jennings asked, looking at Hakim's phone, which was shaking in his hands.
"Well, I guess I don't have a choice. Hello?"
"I wonder if he actually got traded.. I hope not, that'd suck like hell." Jennings whispered to Redd, both were listening quietly.
"Yes. Who called? The Knicks? Oh.. And?"
Jennings put his ear nearer to Warrick's phone, but Warrick quickly pushed Jennings away.
"Of course, I understand. Thanks for the call."
"WHAT HAPPENED?" Jennings screamed over the whole restaurant.
"Uhm.. Well.. I got traded to the Knicks.. "
Redd was looking for a chair to sit down, but just leaned on the nearest table.
"Really? Oh god, you're joking right?"
"Hahaaa, got ya both!"
"Dude, don't scare us like that," Jennings breathed in relief. "But what was the call about?"
"Oh, Kemp said the Knicks called about me, but their offer wasn't good enough. So I guess you're stuck with me."
"You're better off here. The Knicks suck. Especially Sit."
Andrew Bogut sat far back in the restaurant and had listened to Jennings' earlier remark.
"Hey, watch what you say about him."
Jennings hadn't seen Bogut approaching and startled for a moment.
"Dude, don't do that. Hakim already scared me half to death."
"Why?"
Warrick quickly responded.
"Ah, there was talk about me going to New York. But Kemp confirmed that I'm staying put."
"Really? Any talk about me?"
"He didn't mention anything else."
Warrick took the keys of his Ferrari out of his pocket and started walking towards his car.
"Okay, I'm off. I'll see you guys in practice tomorrow. Hopefully."
"See ya!" Jennings responded, then turned. "Hey Hannibal!"
The Bucks rookie Hannibal Lawton was sitting with college roommate Katashiko Chan further away, wearing pink suits and being photographed by passing restaurant visitors.
"You'll get the check, aight. Okay, I'm off." Jennings said, storming off.
"Lawton received the check with the bill. He looked at it, turned to Chan and said :
"Uhmm, K, you want to split it?"
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Brandon Jennings stepped in his car and started driving home.
"Shit, it's past the deadline."
He quickly turned on the radio.
"And that wraps up sports. Have a good evening.."
"Oh come on.."
Jennings called his good friend Stephen Curry of the Warriors.
"You zzup, so did anything go down? I heard a lot of rumors."
"Well, you could say that."
"Not with my team?"
"Not that I've heard of. We didn't do any deals either."
"So what happened?"
"You really don't know? It's pretty big."
"Nah, I've had a media blackout. Okay fine, I'll find out when I get home. Just tell me, which conference got tougher?"
"Uhm, you could say both."
"Fuck. Aight, talk to ya later. Peace."
"Bye."
Jennings hung up the phone and rushed home to see the news. His cell phone's battery died, so no one could break the news to him before he got home.
