Re: The Houston Rockets Thread

Yao is being limited to 24 minutes a game. So I'm thinking he will average 10 points a game and around 5-6 rebounds a game. :)

Lazy and preparing for university? I'm not sure that goes well together.

He's really a good acquisition for Houston. The opposing team will extend their defense, which will lead to open driving lanes for Martin and Brooks.

Exactly. (Y) And in Yao's workouts, I saw Chuck Hayes shoot a few jumpshots, and he made them! Hopefully that means he won't be a liability on offense, so he'll be effective on both ends of the floor. Now all we need is for Scola to be a defensive stopper. :P

Yeah, I think 13 ppg and 7 rpg is a little too high for someone playing 24 mpg. Good prediction. :)

That means nothing. Players can make shots/FT's in practice with ease, like Shaq can make 7-8/10 FTs or Sheed 9/10 three pointers during practice.

Yeah, he will only average 10ppg, but Brooks and K-Mart are still there. There's no problem with that.

Unless they're set on scrapping and rebuilding virtually from scratch through expiring contracts and draft picks, I could see the Nuggets going for that.

It's been confirmed over at Clutchfans that Martin is not going to be the centerpiece of any deals, so relax guys. Besides, Anthony is going to the Nets anyway.

Good to know. With Melo only having 1 year in his contract, his possible refusal to re-sign next season with the Rockets (if the trade was carried out) would've left them without a consistent scorer.

Well, major bump here, we just beat the Pacers 126-92. It may just be preseason, but I like what I saw from the Rockets' second unit. All I'm gonna say, Ishmael Smith is a beast. :headbang:

If he's going to be interviewed and introduces himself by saying "call me Ishmael", that would be epic.

Yeah, that would be epic. The way he plays is already epic.

If you want to talk about the Mavs, go make a "Dallas Mavericks Thread". Don't spam this thread with your Mavs homerism.

When healthy, the Rox are far better than the Mavericks. But alas, their two best players are Kevin Martin and Yao Ming.

... two injury prone players. :( I agree with you though Lamrock. :) 'Tis the season to prove the doubters wrong.
