Bigger Shoes Resolution

You must go to xplrcmn.viv and extract misctpage.fsh (this is the template used for the display of the eyes, mouth, headband and shoes ingame). Drop this into NFSHtool, a folder will be created, there you'll see 3 images and a index.fsh file. Open this file with Notepad, it contains the info of misctpage.fsh, and among other its size. Go to line 9, 256 128 is the normal size, you can put there any values being a multiply of these (i.e. 512 256). You'll also need to increase the parameters refering to BUFSZ, 96976 worked for me.
Now, resize the 3 images. Being 0000-2 the bigger, it must have the new size you introduced, 0000-1 needs half the size of 0000-2, and 0000-0 needs half the size 0000-1.
right click the index.fsh file, open with...NFSHTool. The new file will be created. With EAgraph import it back to xplrcmn.viv.

I would recomand to use 256 128, so the shoes will have a size of 256 256. ( a bigger size will turn blurry most of the shoes out there)

The only shoes, mouth, headbands and eyes that will work ingame will be the new sized ones, so there's a lot of work resizing parts of the plrcmn.fsh (only mouth, eyes and headband) and the whole shoes.fsh (this file can turn into a big one if every shoe doubles its size). The method is the same as for the misctpage.fsh

Maybe a dedictaded patcher would do the hard work and release these new parts of xplrcmn.viv

There's no huge difference, but it's definitely a difference.
I took the liberty to take a screen of my first go at it:

[edit]: Those shoes above in higher res. is 256x256, I tried 512x512, but the detail didn't realy show. But the size was a lot larger, so I recomend to use 256x256...

i've thought of resizing it but didn't know how... thanks Bru!

I have already 100% completed a full 2x shoe patch for NBA Live 2004...it will be released soon.

cool DANet (Y)
could you give us a clue on what it contains?

Did you use the textures from the shoe-store? Or did you include patch-made ones?
Cuz the ones from the shoe-store don't match upp... I'm pretty sure that's the texture-mapping from Live2003...

very nice. are there anyother textures that would work with? lie faces maybe?

Great details  :O

DANet, when you think to release your patch ?

I'm having problem w/ the eyes in the plrcmn.fsh. After I change their canvas size using fireworks, players still don't have eyes. Their default size was 64x64, I changed them to 128x128. By the way, I change the value in line 9 to 512 256 and I'm not having any problem with my new 256x256 shoes.

I'm also having this problem. I didn't bother to check if the others parts fitted well ingame, and now I find that they don't.. it's an odd thing, because the shoes are dislayed correctly. Maybe the info regarding the position of the parts is in the index.fsh. So for now it's seems that there won't be high detail shoes, maybe Danet comes with a solution.

I'm baffled by it, w/ the shoe, eye, mouth and headbands size doubled, if you try to look at those players w/ headbands, you can see the eye's image displayed on the headband.

Yes I have resolved that issue (Y). I will be away for the rest of this week and I will release my 2x shoe patch when I return. Unless some unforseen event occurs in the meantime you can expect the release of the patch on March 15, 2004 (next Monday).

The patch automatically updates all of EA's default beye, bsho, hbnd, and bmou files to the 2x texture format as well as any customart patches the user has installed. I have also made a 2x shoe upgrade kit which will help users and patchers create 2x beye, bsho, hbnd, and bmou patches.
