Paul, do you realize that your suggested diet is the one suggested by BIG CORPORATIONS and that the opposite is actually probably the better one to undertake? (Assuming the same levels of fruits and veggies of course, just flip the meat/eggs with the grains part!)

Benji, you are wrong. MyPyramid.gov is an example of a site that provides the best diet possible for anyone, what you are suggesting is what has destroyed the diet of this country. Eggs for example are one of the worst foods and will make you fat and clog your heart up there is endless research that proves this fact. Eggs are one of the first things that should be banned along with red meat and oils.

What you need to realize is that you're addicted to these foods, you have been forcefed them your entire life and now you have withdrawals if you don't eat them, and you grasp at straws trying to justify this addiction. If you were able to get a proper rehab that got you off things like eggs and red meat you would instantly add 20 years to your life and improve every aspect of your life. Examine the science and you'll realize that you're harming both yourself and your loved ones through your dysfunctional corporate diet.

Paul you started out good but I can tell you did not watch the video.
The pyramid put out by the government is the one that has caused this problem in the long run. People have been duped by the government which caused populous to be duped by the companies.

I will say this folks. I would rather drink sugar than use Aspartame or Splenda.
until last night i was a big proponent of splenda.... until i found out it was discovered by a guy looking for a ddt type of insecticide. It also does not break down in the body, nor can the body expel it.
Stevia and TruVia all the way! (at least that is a natural compound)

She's from a village in India, her parents were vegetarians, she didn't really have a say in the matter.

I went to her village the last time around to meet her sister, they cook without onions & garlic and are also vegeterians, food still tasted amazing though.

My sister was a vegeterian at one point in her life due to her surroundings(SDA school). She isn't anymore, but when she was, she told me the meat tasted disgusting after staying away from them for such a long time.

When I was younger and had to stay with my grandparents, I used to only eat vegetarian food for months on stretch. (I had the option to eat meat, just didn't, loved grandmoms food.)

Anyways point being I could never think meat tasted bad, I think it could be a man thing? I love me my meat.

I don't think neither is that bad at all. It's just a life style choice everyone's gotta make on their own.

Even with the meat, I believe you can find a healthy diet schedule.

Absolutely. Or, we can just sit on couch and watch some TV and play a blame game on governments and corporations just like what Paul23 is doing.

Your taste buds are constantly changing and are affected by your diet. That is why you may like something you despised as a kid. But she may have still been suffering from the conditioning that eliminated meat from her diet.

Jackal, that story is wonderful and heartwarming. More people need to experience those societies that are free from the problems forced unto us.

We all would be so much better off if we lived in villages and in the fall spent a month to collect our harvest for the year. Instead of sitting in corporate offices stuffing our faces with fast food we would be out working with the others in our community together for all our benefit. This would unify society, save our enivornment and be spritually fulfilling. Not only would we all get to know everyone in our communities and become far healthier and happier but we could bring back lost traditions like harvest festivals and sharing with our neighbors.

She wants to go back to a berry picking life. Lolz.

People were lacking food, shelter and protection back in those days. How would that world be a better place for people like you and me, Paul23? Aren't we too overpopulated to do that anyways? Having a luxury to enjoy meat is by a choice these days, but it wasn't like that in the world you are talking about. Don't you think more people would have enjoyed if the food that are acceisible today were available back then?

The food today would have murdered those people immediately. I doubt they would have enjoyed that very much.

Yes, we are overpopulated, thankfully such a system would make sure that we no longer have more people than we do resources. We would not only ensure the sustainability of our environment and the species that live within it but also of the human race. The vicious anything goes system of today is not sustainable. Resisting such a common sense system in the name of personal greed and material wealth is unbecoming and immoral.

That's just a point of view though. You see it as unbecoming and immoral. I see it as life. The strong survive, the weak don't. I think you're over exaggerating todays foods, either you only eat at fast food joints and think that's what the world of consists of or you just love the doomsday woe is us scenarios.

Stop worrying so much about everything Paul, you're going to end up dead and insignificant, you won't have changed the world so just relax and enjoy life. That's all I can say I suppose.

overpopulated???!!!! HAHAHAHAHAA!!

You could make texas into a giant city and everyone in the world could live in ranch houses with 4 people total in each house. WOW! that sure is a lot of empty space.

Using one state with low population density as an example of how the planet isnt overpopulated doesnt make it not true for other areas. Really though, some areas are extremely overpopulated some aren't. Its just how society goes.

they could but would they want to?? 7 billion people classified to one area: climate, resources, land, etc. Its just not smart. Economy would collapse (moreso) and other issues would of course arise.

You're acting like because texas is empty theres no overpopulation in any region of the world. Ever been to NYC, Chicago, or LA? Japan? Lots of places are overpopulated. Because theres empty space somewhere does not make it 1)livable or 2) evidence there isnt overpopulation in the world.

Its madness i tell you! MADNESS!!!

Shit why not stick everyone in alaska? its bigger :P

Also, land space is an entirely different issue to resource consumption.
