Scoring Boost in 4th Quarter

Postby Mikelaker on Tue Jan 13, 2004 10:57 pm

Have read in one post before that in 'super star' level of difficulty the cpu team will score crazily in 4th quarter when they lack behind, till the team won....

I have not had such experience before...anyone facing such kinddof unrealistic scoring boost ??

It's happened to me before, but I've been able to blow out the CPU as well. Sometimes it's possible to avoid the charge the CPU makes in the fourth quarter, and maintain a large lead.

Yeah you can avoid it, it doesnt happen if you have a massive lead eitherlike 20-30 point lead, i dont think the other team can be bothered :P

Just posted it up asking you guys' experience, and then I got one experience my own that night :)

Well the case is I led 23 points when entering 4th quarter, and all of a sudden the wizards team got crazily on fire... block many of my shots, and steal as much as they could and then they score 3, dunk etc. etc.

And, in such situation, ya know what I did? I used my old tactics...
hard D-fence! I trained my fingers a lot at 1on1 games and used those acquired skills to mark players full court...
and if you keep on using 'double team' strategy for consecutive 3-5 minutes of play, you get players faster exhausted but you know it really can STEAL their balls and D them and lower their scoring a whole lot!

Try this out next time....

What happened to me is my worst experience in playing this game...
i had a lead that stands at 23 points entering the 4th quarter....so i played the 4th quarter...worst of all worst i didn't make any field goal even dunks and lay-ups except for free throw but luckily my free throw made me win the game...i have a 0/28 field goal shooting in the fourth quarter...i played with the blazers against the mavs...if i will compare my field goal to there field goal i have 0% their field goal is at 56%....

You might mean CPU Assistance, in In-Game Settings. "When set to YES, trailing teams have a better chance of coming back. The default is NO."
