I thought Id Start a Franchise using the Detroit Pistons with their new roster (With Sheed, SWEET!) except I created myself as an 18yo high schooler who is raw as hell (49 Ovr) but he probably wont even make it on to the team unless there is a major injury. Im also going to try and resist making any trades except probably one to bring some one into back up Rip as Ive got Mike James and Darvin Ham spliting time at shooting guard. all suggestions welcome on that one as i want to keep my core players and id probably only trade either Darvin Ham, Tremaine Fowlkes, Mike James or maybe Elden Cambell. well first game has the pacers visiting the palace ill post it soon.

29 OCT 03
Indiana Pacers 122 Detroit Pistons 92

POG: R.Miller 27 points (5/7 3ptr) 7 rebounds 4 assists in 45 min
Pistons Best: Ben Wallace 19 points 15 rebounds 5 assists 2 blocks in 40 min

Recap: Well this had to be the most frustrating game ive played of any NBA Live ever, Miller hit every thing he put up, triple teaming JO hook shot did nothing and even Foster (12points 11 rebounds) hit a pair of 3's in big ben's face. I nearly threw my controller at the screen at the end of the first Q when I was down 36-20. At the start of the second Q Detroits 2 new addititions entered the officially cleared to play, and it looked good for a while with Rasheed Wallace(15 points 11rebounds 2blocks) coming in for Okur(4points 10rebounds) and having some remote success on Jermaine ONeal(18points 11rebounds) and even Mike James finished with 8 points in limited minutes.
The back court matchup ended up being fairly interesting with Billups(17points 4rebounds 2assists) being a dominate offensive force while Rip(8points 6rebounds 5assists) struggled with his shot but still helped his team with good defence(?)
While Millers backcourt partner Tinsley(6points 3assists) was injured at the start of the second Q with a left leg injury and missed the rest of the game . Kenny Anderson(10points 6assists 4rebounds) and Anthony Johnson(11points 3rebounds 2 assists) played well with their extra minutes.
Prince was the only other pistons player to finish in double figures with 10 points and 2 blocks.

Darko Watch: 2 points 1 rebound in 2 minutes (at least I look for him more than Larry does)

Detroit (0-1) @ Miami (1-1)

Detroit Pistons 112 Miami Heat 98

POG:Ben Wallace 15 points 15 rebounds 6 assists 6 blocks in 39 min
Heats best: Eddie Jones 27 points 8 rebounds 2 assists in 39 min

Recap: Its amazing what 2 days and putting Rasheed Wallace(24points 16rebounds 2blocks) into the starting line-up does. Sure Jones, C.Butler(15points 6rebounds 4assists) and Wade(15points 4 rebounds 7assists) hit their shots but Rip(27points 10rebounds), Billups(21points 3rebounds 2assists) and Sheed hit more. Prince got into double figures agian with 13points and hitting some long 3's.
Lamar Odom struggled with 14 points and 5 rebounds in 25 minutes due to foul trouble and R.Alston played well off the bench with 11points 6assists.

After the first 2 games it seems that my biggest weakness is defending the 2 guard as R.miller and Jones both scored 27 points against me. My question is, is it my style of defence? or does the game tend to make the 2 guard the dominate position? can any of you shut down a allstar shooting guard?

Cuz Ive got TMAC next and he used to avg. 50+ppg against me in LIVE2003

i also started a detroit dynasty. i traded campbell for q.richardson, sheed plays on c and i traded okur to get a good backup + another player (don't know anymore who). after the first season richardson and r. wallace developed impressive and now i have the best team on the league. i'm gonna trade billups for a younger player and i think shee's ratings will become worse next season, but i have two good backup centers (milicic & jabari smith) so milicic will play c and i'll get a new sf

Thats a not bad trade but I dont really like Q(jacks up to many shots in real life) I like using sheed at SF and posting up on the mis-matches and use Campbell or Okur at C. but Id probably trade Campbell as Ive got to many bigmen as it is. Hell Milicic might get some more min.

Post Orlando Game soon. (It's Huge!)

Detroit (1-1) @ Orlando (1-1)

Detroit Pistons 121 Orlando Magic 120 OT

POG: Ben Wallace 13 points 15 rebounds 10 assists 10 blocks in 42min
Magics best:TMAC 30 points 3 rebounds 4 assists

Recap: This game was amazing! finding myself down 5 points 105-110 with less than 5 seconds to go, Billups(18points 5assists 4steals) hit a huge 3 and Rasheed stole the inbound(I now its cheap but.....) and dunked it on Lue to tie the game. Lue missed a 40 foot shot as time expired. in OT no team really had an advantage with both teams trying to to make a run but were unable to.Billups scored the last basket of the game with about 30 seconds left, a pullup J to give us the lead for good. Billups came up huge with 10 of his 18 points in OT.
Rasheed Wallace(30points 13rebounds 1block) had his way with Juwan Howard(12points 7rebounds) but Drew Gooden(12points 6rebounds) got a little momentun in 15 min.
Grant Hill(24points 10rebounds) and T.Lue(20points 4rebounds 5assists) also had moments where they scored at will. Steven Hunter had a huge game with 12 points and 17 rebounds but he was no answer for Big Bens Quadruple Double. Rip(20 points) and Prince(25points 5rebounds) had huge games matching their individual opponents.

Boston (1-2) @ Detroit (2-1)

Boston Celtics 109 Detroit Pistons 103

POG: Paul Pierce 45 points 3 rebounds 2 assists
Pistons Best: Rasheed Wallace 23 points 6 rebounds 4 assists

Recap:I didn't think I could handle the Truth, and tonight proved as he dstroyed me 45 points. Boston also got help from Lafrentz(17points 8rebounds 2blocks), Welch(13points 3rebounds 3assists) and Ricky Davis(14points 2rebounds) off the bench.
I had a slim lead 24-23 at the end of the first Q with Big Ben dominating the boards with 9. The start of the second Q seen a shift in momentum with Hamilton(18points 5rebounds) getting into foul trouble and forcing me to use a mixture of Darvin Ham and Mike James(14points 3rebounds) on the Truth, who lit me up for 17 in the Q, at the half though I was only down 5 53-48.
the third saw a total breakdown for Detroit on both offence and Defence as I was down by as many as 18. but I trailed by 12 entering the final Q.
The last 12 minutes had many runs by both sides and with 3 minutes left it looked like I might make an unlikely comeback as I was down by 4 off a 3 pointer by Prince(12points 4assists) but i went cold the last minute and couldn't hit anything as pistons went down again at home(1-2)
Billups played well for his 20 points 6 assists and 5 steals and had more assists than Ben Wallace(6points 19rebounds 5assists 2blocks) for the first time this season.

Yeah OrlandoMagic thats one of the problems I have ben trying to figure out, but the main problem was that I got these Rosters from a mate because Im playing on PS2 and and he's update the ratings for most players. For the first 4 games I used all different sliders but couldn't get it right, the good news is that I think I've worked it out. :D and the boards have gone down to.

Thanks for the compliment as well

Milwaukee (4-1) @ Detroit (2-2)

Detroit 94 Milwaukee 89
POG: Rasheed Wallace 18 points 8 rebounds 5assists
Bucks Best: Michael Redd 19 points 5 rebounds

Recap: Detroit did something in this game that they haven't been able to do this season. Play Defence. The Pistons held the offensive minded Bucks to just 14 points while they went onto score 23 points in the fourth. With 4 minutes to go the pistons were still down 87-80, thats when billups(19points 5rebounds 3assists) took over leading the pistons on a 14-2 run to end the game, but the biggest shot of the night was given to Rip(13points 3rebound) who had been struggling with foul trouble earlier in the game. With 33 seconds to go and down two points, 87-89, Rip took Redd one-on-one, Rip pulled up for a J at the top of the key that hit nothing but net plus one. Hamilton made the following free-throw to make it 90-89. The following possesion Redd tried to get to the hoop but ate Spalding sandwich by Big Ben(9points 10rebounds 2blocks), Billups picked up the loose ball and was foulded and sent to the the stripe. He made both to make it 92-89, This time the bucks went to Van Horn(15points 8rebounds 2blocks) for the game tier but it clanged off the rim and rebounded by ben wallace, who had 9 of his rebounds in the second half and he used their last time-out. Prince(17points 7rebounds) inbounded the ball into Rip who was sent to the line and hitting both to make the final score 94-89.
Mike James played well with 6 points 3 rebounds 5 assists in his 35 minutes, while Joe Smith(14points 13rebounds), Desmond Mason(13points 2rebounds) and T.J. Ford(8points 6rebounds 9assists) played well for the Bucks.

Played two games and both losses :(

9 NOV 03
New Jersey (6-0) @ Detroit (3-2)

New Jersey Nets 95 Detroit Pistons 92
POG: Richard Jerfferson 28 points 4 rebounds
Pistons Best: Chauncy Billups 17 points 5 rebounds 9 assists

Recap: The Nets had their way with Detroit for most of the game, being up by as much as 17 in the third quarter. Jefferson was dominate, getting to the hoop with ease, while Kidd(13points 4rebounds 9assists) found open teamates regulary. J.Collins was impressive in the middle with 13 points and 11 rebounds and R.Rogers came off the bench for 14 points and 8 boards. Both Martin(11points 6rebounds) and Kittles(6points 3rebounds) struggled through out the game.

At the start of the last quarter the piston got a burst of energy to close a double digit lead. The back court of the pistons was the main reason for the turn around with Rip(20points 2rebounds 2assists) and Billups scoring on nearly every possesion and Prince(10points 4rebounds) chipped in with back-to-back threes to tie the at 92 all with less than a minute left. With 30secs remaining the nets set up a pick and roll for Kidd who launched a 3 that hit nothing but net. The Pistons called a time out and made a play for Prince to shoot a 3 but the play didn't work out and Billups had to put up a rushed shot which hit the back of the ring and bounced out.

Williamson played well off the bench with 12 points, 5 rebounds and Ben Wallace was 4 assists shy of a triple double with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 blocks. Mike James had 9 points on 3/4 shooting from downtown to go along with his assist and rebound in 12 minutes, Rasheed played his worse game as a piston with 2 points (2/10FG) and 8 rebounds.

C- Okur
PF- B.Wallace
SF- R.Wallace
SG- Hamilton
PG- Billups
This game was close all the way through with no team getting a lead larger than 7 points. Rip and Billups(24points 7assists) dominated in the first half scoring 24 and 17 respectively while CWebb had 18 points and 6 rebounds for the Kings. On the Final play Rip put up a J at the top of the key which missed but the rebound was collected by Ben Wallace(6points 14rebounds 5assists 2blocks) who right back up but was bumped on the lay up by Brad Miller(11points 7rebounds) no foul was called and Ben's shot missed.

Peja(22points 6rebounds), Bibby(18pounts 7assists) and Christie(10points 3rebounds) were the othe noteables for the Kings. Prince (10points 2blocks) and Williamson(8points 6rebounds 5assists) played well off the bench While Okur(4points 4rebounds 2assists) and Rasheed Wallace(8points 4/13FG 3rebounds) played poorly in their minutes. Recap:The Pistons 2 game losing streak has come to an end with a tough match against the struggling Warriors who were missing J.Rich due to a sore Elbow. For the the first half no team had a real advantage with the Pistons leading 38-36 in a low scoring half. But the second half seen the flood gates open with Dunleavy Jr scoring 19 points after halftime, while Dampier(12points 8rebounds), C.Robinson(12points 3rebounds) and B.Cardinal(12points 3rebounds) had good offensive games. Thinking of making a trade with the Nuggets, where I send E.Campbell, M.Okur and Mike James for C.Andersen and Jon Barry. I'm on the losing end of this trade but I think it will work out better for me in the long run, as decided Darko deserves minutes and I really need a back up shooting guard. I've also signed Vet. Tim Hardaway and he should be able to fill in James's 12-14 minutes a game. What do you guys think :?:

Here would be the lineup if I made the Trade
C- B.Wallace / D.Millicic
PF- R.Wallace / C.Andersen
SF- T.Prince / C.Williamson / D.Ham / T.Fowlkes
SG- R.Hamilton / J.Barry
PG- C.Biilups / T.Hardaway

C- Ben Wallace (C) 111,111/3
PF- Rasheed Wallace 296,296/1
SF- Tayshaun Prince Min/3
SG- Richard Hamilton 196,825/7
PG- Chauncy Billups (C) 124,815/5

6th- Corliss Williamson
7th- Mehmet Okur Min/1
8th- Elden Cambell 88,889/2
9th- Mike James Min/1
10th- Darko Millici 89,379/4
11th- Darvin Ham 31,111/1
12th- Tremaine Fowlkes Min/1

IR1- ICE (ME) 60,000/3 (SF-PF, 6'11" 216lbs 49 Ovr)

And here is my New line-up, no difference in the starters except I moved Rasheed to C because I thought there are a lot more good PF than C in the Eastern Conference so Ben can defend them, and one of the first Subs I'll do when I'm playing is put Darko or Andersen in for Prince and move Rasheed to SF, and that means Murray will play around 8-10 minutes a game. My bench is weaker but Darko will get to play now and Wade should be instant offence off the bench. but I think i should either sign a swingman or another bigman.

C- Rasheed Wallace 296,296/1
PF- Ben Wallace (C) 111,111/3
SF- Tayshaun Prince Min/3
SG- Richard Hamilton 196,825/7
PG- Chauncy Billups (C) 124,815/5

6th- D.Wade 68,577/4
7th- D.Milicic 89,679/4
8th- C.Andersen 30,000/1
9th- T.Murray 30,000/1
10th- L.Harrington 30,000/1
11th- T.Hardaway 30,000/1

IR- ME 60,000/3

One thing I'll have though going into next season is Cap room. About 400000 in total if I don’t resign Wallace or Andersen. What would you do resign them or play the free agent market and try and get a big name like KG or Kobe?

The bench might be weaker but with that starting lineup and Wade, Milicic and Anderson coming off the bench that team will be a match for anyone.

24 NOV 03
Detroit 92 Atlanta 87

Recap: First Game after the big Trade saw me in a match with probably the the lowest skill level in the league, even if they have a 9-5 record. :!:
I nearly took them for granted but made a timely 9-0 run in the last 3 minutes which was helped by Kemp getting injured in last minute for a 5 point win. Darko played well with his extra minutes scoring 6 points, but newly aquired Chris Andersen struggled to find his spot on offence but still helped out with his interior Defence. Big Ben Wallace had an ordinary game with Only 8 rebounds to go along with his 5 points .

POG Rasheed Wallace 24 points 10 rebounds 2 blocks in 36 minutes

Key Players

Detroit:
D.Wade - 16 points 2 rebounds 3 assists in 28 minutes
R.Hamilton - 15 points 2 rebounds 2 assists in 33 minutes

S.Kemp - 6 points 10 rebounds 1 block in 39 minutes

26 NOV 03
76ers 94 def. Pistons 79

Recap: The 76ers had been playeing well with a 10-5 record coming into this game add to that Glenn and AI combining for 51 points the 76ers were always going to be difficult. But nobody expected a 15 point spanking except maybe the philly crowd. For the second time this season the pistons were held to under 80 points as they continue to problems scoring. Prince lifted his game try to carry the team in the fourth but there was to many players struggling, Rip finished with 13 points but on 5/16 shooting, Wade in his second game in as a pistons had only 5 points. Ben Wallace put in another poor game with only 2 points 7 rebounds but also had 4 blocks, Darko played a career high 20 minutes to finish with2 pointd 3 rebounds 3 steals.

POG Glenn Robinson 26 points 4 rebounds 3 steals

Key Players

Detroit:
C.Billups - 20 points 4 assists in 30 minutes
R.Wallace - 18 points 3 rebounds 1 block in 28 minutes

28 NOV 03
Detroit 93 def. Cleveland 90 @ the Palace

Recap:Going into this game Larry Brown decided to use an 8 man rotation against the surging Cavs who have won 4 in a row(10-5 record) and it paid dividends with Rasheed dominating again especially when he moved to SF and Ben snapping his slump for a huge game. Wade came up big off the bench slashing to the basket with ease and hitting 6 of his 7 free throws. To be Honest though the score was closer than the game was, the only real dissapointment though was the cavaliers out rebounded Ben wallace 23 to 19

I'd say let them go, there is ususally at least some good players in the free agents pool, and if you dont pick up a replacement for Sheed, there is always Darko to step up.

Lol yeah when i played them with my Phoenix team, they were sooo weak, rated 66, they must have put up a solid record in the 2003-2004 season, cos they had no good rookies, i owned them 101-61 Amare had 21 boards!!.

Nice Dynasty man keep it up, i really enjoy reading it :D

Wizards 95 def. Pistons 86 @ Washington

Recap:Of all the games I thought this would be a cake walk. how wrong could I be. Down by 28 points at half time, the Pistons struggled to score while their transition D was non-existent as Stackhouse poured in 17 of his 27 points in the second Quarter.

Things didn't get much better in the third as the Pistons were down by 22 going into last quarter and unable to make solid run. The Pistons players must have thought it was a late start cuz they came to play in the fourth, Rasheed was one of the main reasons scoring 13 of his 15 in the quarter to get as close as 5 points, but it seemed that the Pistons ran out of steam as Stackhouse replied with 2 fastbreaks to put the game out of reach.

POG Jerry Stackhouse 27 points 3 rebounds in 33 minutes

Key Players

Detroit:
R.Hamilton - 18 points 2 rebounds in 34 minutes
R.Wallace - 15 points 6 rebounds
C.Billups - 15 points 3 assists in 30 minutes
B.Wallace - 10 points 15 rebounds 4 assists in 41 minutes
D.Wade - 10 points 3 rebounds 5 assists in 26 minutes
D.Milicic - 6 points 4 rebounds 1 block in 23 minutes
C.Andersen - 5 points 6 rebounds in 19 minutes

Washington

1 DEC 03
New York 102 def. Detroit 96 @ NY

Recap:The Pistons were given a glimpse of the future but also a scare. Darko set career highs in both points and rebounds for his first monster game of his career where he dominted Mutombo, But at the start of the fourth quarter Milicic injured his right arm but was still able to play. More injury worries hit the Pistons with Ben Wallace injuring his right leg and was unable to continue to play. With this Development Coach Brown decided it was best for Milicic not to risk further injury and to sit the remander of the game as it was unknown how bad Ben's injury was. With the depleted frontline and Rasheed unable to hit a basket, New York cruised to a 6 point win even though Rip had 13 of his 21 points in the last quarter.
note: Ben Wallace did not sustain any long term injury and will be right to play against Miami.

POG:Allan Houston 42 points 6/10 3ptr 3 rebounds 4 assists in 40 minutes

Key Players

Detroit:
R.Hamilton 21 points 4 rebounds 4 assists in 34 minutes
D.Milicic 17 points 9 rebounds 1 block in 30 minutes :D
D.Wade 12 points 4 rebounds 3 assists in 30 minutes
R.Wallace 10 points 4/15FG 7 rebounds 33 minutes
C.Billups 10 points 6 assists 0 TO in 34 minutes
B.Wallace 9 points 7 rebounds 4 blocks in 31 minutes

New York:
T.Thomas 19 points in 38 minutes
S.Marbury 7 points 8 assists in 40 minutes

Next Game: Miami (7-10) @ Detroit (9-10)

C - Rasheed Wallace
PF- Ben Wallace
SF - Tayshuan Prince
SG - Rip Hamilton
PG - Chauncey Billups

With mainly Rookies Milicic and Wade coming off the bench.

Yeah the Knicks are a lot tougher but I felt I played starbury as good as I could, only 7 points but Houston was unstoppable.
