Political Compass Test

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

That's true, but I've also heard a lot of intelligent politically apathetic people say that they're in the middle and mean. Granted, they're typically narcissists who don't care what happens to anyone but themselves, but they're affluent enough that political policies don't really affect them..even high taxes.

The three of us in the thread that have admin status all notably lean towards libertarian, which is funny with all the "ZOMG! DICTATOR MOD!~!!!!" accusations over the years. You'd expect us all to lean the other way.

Especially you Jae, with your classic abuse of power. (I mean to say, locking threads for a very good reason. What a dick move.)

Wat.

(Granted, I'd be the first to admit I have a lot to learn about politics, and my views are far from refined. Even if individual votes don't really matter, its a good thing there's a voting age requirement)

Some of the questions were too weird to answer properly, otherwise I'd probably be in the corner too.

None of you are anywhere near liberal on the shitty test, you all stop on the fourth marker in the axis. You're all willing to violate rights as long as someone does something you don't like.

Of course us real liberals don't find any problem with a private group doing so. There's not really a contradiction here.

Since you don't understand the root of liberalism (not your fault) I would suggest you start here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classical_liberalism

The phrase "liberalism" was hijacked by "progressives" to cover up their power grab with FDR until it wound up discredited in which case they fled back to "progressive" even though that's even more of a tar.

Liberal should be a term of pride, someone who believes in individual liberty, not one who believes the state should manage the lives of everyone.

The opposite hasn't exactly proven it can either. Without killing a bunch of people of course.

If the people don't manage our society, then the corporations will, we cannot allow that, we the people need to stand in the way.

What if the people want to be managed by the corporations? Managing oneself is hard work you know.

Corporations are not people, they have no rights, they should be run by the people through the government. The people should decide on what happens in this country, no one should be allowed to work against the interests of the people and if we cannot pass laws to make sure this happens then we have failed as a nation.

What about people that oppose other people because of a conflict in each agenda?

Corporations steal by forcing people into buying the basic necessities of life such as food. They also use advertising to force people into desiring things they don't need or want. When a corporation steals your money that is money you no longer have and nobody has anymore, instead the corporation holds it. We have allowed corporations to steal more and more money, money which the poor can no longer have while CEOs hide it in investments. This is not right, the people should have the power and own all the money, not lifeless, soulless corporations who only want to find more ways to steal.

Corporations dont force anything. You dont have to buy what they advertise. They dont say "we're going to kill your family if you dont buy our bread!" People want things, so they buy them. You have internet access, is that not a want you're paying a corporation for? Also: corporations employ people, without corporations: all economy ceases to exist. You're acting like corporations are a modern thing: They're not. How insane are you? Im not saying all corporations are ethical: they're not as proven by a countless number. you're taking the generalizations too far.
