Nothing official yet, but pretty close to buying my first house, for much less than what it's currently assessed for because it's owned by a relative, so I'm pretty happy about that.
Nothing phenomenal, but 3 bedrooms and a double garage will certainly come in handy.

Still happy after last night, my bball team made the grand final. Our team record was 5 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw (theres no OT played in the regular season)... it was the same as the team we were playing last night so we were essentially playing for 2nd place and a spot in the grand final. Finished the game on top by 17 points. I hit a three pointer from way downtown at the third quarter buzzer so we finished that quarter up by 8. We extended the 8 point lead after the break into a 20 point one, our big man fouled out and we played with 4 players for half the final quarter (bench was slack and didn't show up). We're playing the 1st placed team we beat by 14 points 3 weeks ago on this coming Sunday.

Can't wait. :)

Thanks. I'm just really hoping to get out of this shooting slump that I have been in. My last two games I have only scored 2 points and 7 points (last night had 7, all in second half). The previous three games I had 17, 15, and 14 or something like that. :(

Outside of a brilliant first day of March Madness, today I found out I passed my last CA subject, so I'm a fully qualified Chartered Accountant (Y)

I think CA equivalency in the States is CPA. CPA in Australia is slightly different & much easier to pass.

Just graduated from College yesterday, finally I can have more time on dynasties or maybe I should find a decent job first.

In anticipation of Futurama's new episodes, a local network here is showing reruns of all the episodes. Sweetness. Should have posted this in the Futurama thread in the Entertainment section but it's more appropriate here since I haven't had a good laugh watching a TV show for a long time. Good news indeed.

I got locked in my ensuite because the door handle on the other side fell off, so I used my toothbrush to escape. I feel like MacGuyver.

Would've been more suitable if we'd gone with my suggested thread title of "Good news, everyone!" when we renamed it but we just had to go for the generic name. :(

Badass. (Y) And it gives me an excuse to pull out a semi-regular posting gimmick!

Okay I don't know if I post it in the right thread because I'm confuse as well. Good news is that I have my very first job and I'm going to be a teacher  .

I really don't like to be a teacher but I have no choice, so I tried to apply yesterday and today I received a call. They said that I got the job and that I'm going to teach math subject but I applied for an I.T teacher. So now I'm confuse about my feelings. I'm happy because I got the job but I don't like the job and also I don't like what I'm going to teach.

Hope someone can give some advice about this or should I make another thread for this? Like Doobie :) Anyways I'm going to meet the HR tomorrow. I just want to know what can you guys advice for a young upcoming teacher who doesn't want to teach :?

Ask Lean. He used to be a teacher. :P :(

I pity your students. Not much so on your knowledge of the subject but on your motivation to do so.

About asking Lean, he actually give me the pointers on the demo. That's why I passed.

That's what I'm worried about, my upcoming students. Will they able to learn anything if I'm going to teach a subject which I really don't like.

It's not the subject I'm worried about for the students. Seems like you don't want to teach at all whether it is your preferred subject or not.

Your right but I think I'm can learn to love the job if I'm going to teach the subjects I like. The reason why I apply for the job is because of the challenge I will face. It's like a dare to me but when they told me that I'm going to teach math then it almost make me to give up.

I'm not that bad in math subjects though but I just don't want to teach them. I don't want to be like my previous teacher who's teaching the subject she can't even understand.

Well the challenge I'm expecting is that everybody I know tell me that I couldn't teach so I applied for the job, and then their going to give me a subject that I don't like. It's too much of a challenge for me :P

Maybe I should not take the job, after all there is still a lot of applicant out there.

It's more of a challenge if you don't have a job. Suck it up and do your best.

I'm amazed how many people go into teaching who don't want to do it or even know how to do it. (Or are forced to do it.)

While those of us who actually want to teach for teachings sake, and can actually teach have to deal with all the shit. (If I could make a deal with the rest of the faculty to teach all their classes while they just do "research" in exchange for me not having to do the utter stupidity that is Poli Sci "research" I'd do it in a heartbeat even if I had to wake up before noon.) Especially if I got some extra monies for it.

Just saw this today so uhh...

Problem with most colleges these days is the way they distribute subjects to their faculty members. In my case during my first semester, I was given algebra and trigonometry apart from the programming subjects. Not that I suck in math but I mostly forgot the concepts of those two math subjects as I was inclined more with the programming stuff.

If your performance evaluation rate in those math subjects are below par, dare, maybe they'd give you subjects that you should really be teaching.

Meanwhile, going with the trend of this thread....

The aftermath of my application in that local TV station had me submitting resumes all over the internets -- except that male escort service shadow has been recommending me for months now. One of which was an animation company, outsourcing talents to do stuff from foreign clients (mind you, animated porn not included). So I submitted my resume online as they were looking for a "layout artist", knowledgeable in Adobe Creative Suite software.

I was contacted for an exam, and boy what an exam that was. The questionnaire only has a page, and these were the "questions" on the exam:

1. Draw a nude body of a male and a female (yes, good sirs :cheeky: ) in the following angles:
a. front
b. back
c. 3/4 front and back

2. Facial Expressions: draw a male and female face with the following expressions:
a. angry
b. happy
c. sad
d. surprised
e. frightened

3. Draw a male or female doing these action poses:
a. running
b. jumping
c. kicking in the air

...I counted like what, 21 drawings? And all of those should be done in just 2 hours.

I had this great feeling though being in an animation studio.
