Grouping Beasley with Washburn at this point seems a bit harsh, considering how quickly the latter's career burnt out. If Beasley doesn't become a star, I think he could still be useful. He's got more skill than all the others with the bust label.

So if he didn't have to play defense and he could just run up and down the court catching ally-oops he'd be good? I think that would apply to Stromile Swift and every other undersized, yet athletic, power forward drafted in teh last 10 years.

I guess lol, but Beasley isn't very undersized though, problem is that he doesnt put enough effort on the boards and defending, and sometimes make stupid decisions with the ball

Yeah that's the sad part of Beasley....with all the potential he has, he's wasting it
I'm afraid he's going to be the next Derrick Coleman, except less productive

Not everyone makes an impact straight away though. It was expected of Beasley because he was the second overall pick, but college success/performance doesn't always translate to the pros straight away (and sometimes not at all). The old adage of having to walk before you can run may apply here, only time will tell. His struggles and underachieving have been disappointing for the Heat, but he hasn't been given quite enough time to come into his own as an NBA player.
