Personally, i would prefer Wade to come to the Bulls ,whether LeBron comes or not.He would just suit to the team and he's a player i really like,who won't win a ring in Miami unless they strengthen their squad by a great deal(sorry for that Heat fans )

This year,it seems that Bulls have been in strong position in the FA market.They have the best squad among all competitors for the big names,which is young as well.Also they have cap space for two big names,so one big FA will sign knowing that he will have another one big help from the signings of this year.Thibodeau is respectable to many in the league cause of his work at Boston all these years with Rivers.

Adding the great market Chicago is and the fact that it has the probably the best fans in the NBA and the best atmosphere in the stadiums Chicago is a clearly attractive place to go

Personally no,why i have to feel spoken with that?I was a Bulls fan for many years and supported this team in the bad seasons as well.,and by the time i registered here i post constantly in this thread.
But i was just curious to know the exact meaning of this.
Because i got it as a criticism to guys who are with the team they believe will win and change fav teams constantly and not with one team.
Also i wanted to clear that i'm not that type of supprter as well(in the case it was for me as well...)

Why do some posters insist on baselessly projecting shallow principles and priorities on other people?

In both the case of James and Ilya Kovalchuk (NHL), this is a multi-million dollar business decisions, affecting professional franchises and an individual's livelihood. It is not fantasy league, nor playground.

Does one honestly think the player, his agent and team executives are actually sitting around trying to manipulate the situation to get the most "pub"? As in "How can I be more po-U-lar?"

If so, this generation of sports fan is even more warped by superficial celebrity than I previously believed.

Popularity, not entirely. Leverage, yes. More attention and speculation the more LeBron can impose conditions that will better suit him. That can be considered a business decision isn't it?

Here's a new LeBron spin for the day (it isn't a day without one):

The Knicks, who haven't given up on the dream of signing LeBron James, were granted a second meeting with the free agent superstar's representatives late Saturday in Cleveland, The Daily News has learned.

According to a Knicks official, Garden president Scott O'Neil and senior VP of Basketball Operations Glen Grunwald were dispatched to James' hometown and held a brief clandestine meeting with James' reps to make a second pitch to the two-time MVP.

It is unclear if James was in the meeting but it is believed that his business manager, Maverick Carter, and agent, Leon Rose, met with the two Knicks executives on the same day that James spoke to both the Cavs and Bulls.

It has since been confirmed that LeBron was NOT at the second meeting.

Brian Windhorst was just on NY radio 1050. He said that he heard that after the presentations the Knicks were in 5th place. I didn't catch the first part of the interview, but here is what I did catch:

-Windhorst believes the Cavs are the front runner with a 50ish percent chance.
-Bulls have a 49ish percent chance.
-LeBron might want to visit a team or two after the bball camp. Earliest decision could come is Wednesday night.
-Nets were FAR more impressive than Knicks.
-LeBron is very intrigued by the Bulls. Specifically said there is a reason Bulls were chosen to present last.

Through it all, James’ old team probably played it perfectly. The Cavs understood their audience the best: LeBron James(notes) and his high school buddies, 25-year-olds trying to play the part of a global corporation but ultimately still reached at a meaningful level with cartoons and locker-room humor.

A week ago, most teams believed they were chasing the Chicago Bulls for James, but that’s flipped in the past days and hours. “My gut tells me Cleveland,” an executive in the James chase told Yahoo! Sports on Sunday. “From what I hear now, it his decision alone. No outside influences.”

Officials from teams who made these presentations went along with the charade, but some questioned the legitimacy of the process based on the kinds of questions that were thrown back to them. “It didn’t take long to realize you’re dealing with 25-year-old kids,” one source said.

So who knows? More conflicting reports, more rumours, more speculation. Here's hoping for the best come July 8th.

Good news about Joe Johnson remaining with the Hawks though, eliminating the possibility that the Bulls can offer him anything like the money he'll now be getting in Atlanta. I've got to give credit to PaxMan here; when they were dragging their feet on hiring a coach last month I had concerns it was going to turn out to be a sign of big talk followed by inaction or setting the bar low on free agents. But here they are targeting the top free agents and making their pitch. If all the top stars do fall through then I'm a bit concerned as to what they'd do once they go into panic mode, but right now, they appear to be doing everything right.

This is such a frustrating waiting period, regardless of whenever he said he would announce the decision. Frustrated, but that's probably a better thing for us. If he were to announce it at the beginning of the camp, it probably would have meant that he'd stay in Cleveland. Why announce that you'd leave right before a camp you'd be hosting in Akron? Awkwardness would ensue. Waiting till after the camp means he can probably avoid direct contact with the Cleveland public till he's ready to make a statement.

And if, just if, he decides to return to Cleveland after pushing it all the way to Thursday, (thereby effectively using all of the FA speculation time given to him) he's just an douche.

If the Cavs showed me that wishy-washy "Woe is us" video, I would have thrown it in their face saying, "Don't show me this shit when you've given me Jamario Moon and Antawn Jamison. I don't know why you expect Lebron to go to Bulls. It just doesn't make sense to me as this decision has never really been about winning because he has been winning 60-65 games per year in Cleveland, so I don't think it will come down to that. I think he's either going to leave for greener pastures (New York/Brooklyn) or he's going to be loyal (Cleveland). I might be wrong & I'm happy to eat my words, but IMHO Lebron will not be wearing a Bulls' jersey next year.

That being said, I wouldn't be too surprised if Wade did.

i agree and disagree with this. Cleveland has won a lot of regular season games. more important though is that hasn't translated into playoff wins/NBA championship. i believe James wants to be loyal and also wants to win a championship. Can Cleveland give him that in 3yrs? does James risk 3yrs of his prime to find out??

it seems since the LBJ camp has been pretty quiet the focus has shifted on Wade. and Wade sticking around Chicago for another meeting stoked the media fire.

its been exciting since the Bulls traded Hinrich. With Amar'e & Joe Johnson off the board, now it's getting nerve wrecking... and annoying since there is no concrete information coming out. since the teams have met with the players, the media has nothing to do now but just speculate
