Talk about NBA Live 10 here.

I'm playing Dynasty Mode on Live 10, and this started a few months ago, but it happened rarely. In the 3rd or 4th quarter, I take a timeout to make substitutions and to give my players some rest, and when I finish, I skip the rest of the timeout, but the camera stays on a ballrack in the corner of the court and stays there (tried pressing buttons but still just stays). This is the 2nd time this week its happened to me.
For one, you should know it's not my PS3 because I am not having this problem with my other games. Two, my Live 10 is as clean as when I first got it ('round 6 months ago). I'm getting sick and tired of this because I play a hard fought game, only to have my work thrown back at me by my PS3. Has this happened to anybody? Is there a way to fix this?

Sounds like another one of the freezing issues that seem to have reared their ugly heads post-patch. They seem to be luck of the draw, all you can do is reset and start over...if you feel like playing the game so soon after having it crash on you.

Well, so far I played two games in a row successfully without a crash. They will be on my dynasty update tomorrow.
Anyways, I think it might have had something to do with me being online because I wasn't online today and had successful timeouts.

That could be something to keep in mind. Also, have you disabled the replay buffer under the game options (you can access that from the main menu, it's not accessible in the settings menu when you're in Dynasty Mode)? That seems to help out, though I've had the game lock up while playing online despite having the buffer disabled.

Actually, I mentioned this when I first joined the NLSC, I don't have that option. I go to the main menu (you know, when you pause in the Hangar), and go to visual settings and all that's there is the pick and roll indicator and I forgot what other options. But point is, replay buffer isn't there.

That's strange. I know it's not available from within Dynasty Mode but it should be accessible from the main menu...unless it's specific to the Xbox 360 version, though I don't believe it is.

I have another question, how do you fake a shot and then pass right away? I've seen people do that online, and I could really use that on the cheating CPU offline.
Tue Jun 29, 2010 2:31 pm
I'm guessing they're using Freestyle Passing, since that's the quickest way to throw a pass.
Wed Jun 30, 2010 12:14 am
Really? Because I've seen people fake a lay-up, and I usually fall for it, and then they end up passing it to somebody on the perimeter.
Wed Jun 30, 2010 11:15 am
That's my guess, I could be wrong.
Wed Jun 30, 2010 1:15 pm
Well, I'll try. Thanks for your help.
Wed Jun 30, 2010 1:17 pm
No worries, keep us informed if you have any success.
Wed Jun 30, 2010 1:21 pm
I'll try it in my next dynasty game against the Utah Jazz.

Success!

It's not freestyle passing. It's just like faking shots in FIFA games. Now Andrew, I understand you and I have different consoles, so I'll explain it without mentioning PS3 buttons.
You tap the shoot button and exactly afterwards, you tap the pass button. Basically like the double-tap up and under post move, except you tap the pass button afterwards. I only tried it on the perimeter, but I know it's possible to fake lay-ups and pass it.
Also, I've had some successful 3rd and 4th quarter timeouts! I don't sign in to EA before playing a game anymore, and I guess that's worked for me.

Good to know, thanks for the tip.

OK I have a new question and didn't feel like starting a new thread to ask it. In dynasty mode, the game generated rookies' overalls are around the 60's/high 50's. Is it possible for the first round picks to improve their overall as the seasons go by without having to edit their ratings?
Sat Jul 03, 2010 10:07 am
Players with high potential and good learning attributes can certainly be developed, especially if you're developing your staff with Dynasty points.
Sat Jul 03, 2010 11:09 am
So can a lottery pick improve from let's say a 65 to a 75 in, say, 2 seasons?
Sat Jul 03, 2010 11:11 am
Depends on their potential and the effectiveness of training - the latter isn't easy given that area of the game is kind of broken in NBA Live 10 - but you can see big improvements, yes.
Sat Jul 03, 2010 11:22 am
One question though, since I'm not really worried much about rookies I draft, what about the CPU teams' rookies? Do they see huge improvements?
Sat Jul 03, 2010 11:41 am
Same deal for them. Rookies with a high potential attribute stand a good chance of seeing significant improvement.
Sat Jul 03, 2010 11:44 am
Oh. Thanks. As I said in my first post at the NLSC, this is my first Live, so I'm not very knowledgeable about it, or any basketball video games in that matter.
Sat Jul 03, 2010 11:50 am
Not to worry, that's what we're here for.
Wed Jul 07, 2010 11:03 am
One more question that's been bugging me since I got an EA account. It isn't necessarily about Live 10, so forgive me for going off topic. What are credits for in your EA Sports account? I have alot of them and I've always wondered what they're for.
Wed Jul 07, 2010 11:07 am
I've heard you can use them to purchase items for your EASW avatar.
