yeah you see that too often. someone will say so and so sucked cause they could have had him (i just said it but i was speaking about forte and brown so i stand by it). the 84 draft had several good players taken later than you would expect if you went and looked at it now. actually alot of drafts back then were like that

With players like Forte and Brown, it certainly is justified because they're out of the league in a few short years with little success to show for it compared to their peers. Looking back at the 1996 Draft, Erick Dampier and Todd Fuller were both picked before Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash but I'd only deem Fuller a bust as Dampier has had a solid and lengthy NBA career.

had to bring up the 96 draft huh? thats another draft that angers me. we ended with walker that year. now sure he had what some might consider an ok career but i hated him. specially when you have players like bryant and nash (i never even thought of wanting nash back then) who we could have had.

I brought up the 1986 Draft a few posts back, too. But on the bright side, how about that 1978 Draft?

I've watched '86 NBA Draft. First one is Daugherty. (Y) Second one is Len Bias. RIP. Third one: Chris Washburn (N) (N) (N) F Fourth one: Chuck Person. A great shooter... (Y) Fifth one is Kenny Walker. (Y) (Y) (N)

BTW, great misses: Dennis Rodman, Jeff Hornacek, Mark Price, Kevin Duckworth.
First international player to draft: Drazen Petrovic.

1987 and 1988 are major hit/All-Star or epic bust who barely took the court.
1989 is one of the worst drafts through 15 picks and overall.
1990 nosedives like crazy after the second pick.
1991's first round is a who's-who's of third-best players outside of Terrell Brandon.
The fact that 1992's first round is full of former regular starters for a decade shows how bad this time was. 1993 isn't much better.

Still amazing that the league added six teams during this period of draft implosion.

But seriously, Pau Gasol, Tony Parker, and Mehmet Okur? How's that a bad draft class? Not to mention Shane Battier, Brendan Haywood, and Zach Randolph.

you miss my point. the celtics had the 10th 11th and 21st picks in the draft and we got joe johnson (who we let just leave), kendrick brown (fuck you), and joseph Forte (again fuck you). johnson was the right pick and we should have kept him. but those next 2 could have been so much better. parker and jefferson? parker and haywood? maybe arenas(nah i dont want him). tinsley maybe? anything but damn brown and forte.

What I think you meant to say was that the 2001 draft was bad for the Celtics. How would Joe Johnson fit with the Celtics if in the Hawks he's given 25 shots a game, and the Celtics more deserving players to take and make those shots, ie. Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, KG, Rondo etc.
