Is 'predictable' really a valid criticism of a movie that's based on a true story?
The key word is based on: you know the ending but you dont know the actions that lead to it so of course it is a valid point. Its not just the ending when a movies predictable its everything leading up to that point.
Example: A Beautiful Mind was based on a true story, but the storyline had constant events and surprises that kept the movie interesting and not just watching a schizo math genius solve equations

...and even then, 99% of the story didn't really happen so the 'based on a true story' just becomes a tag to get more movie audiences.

You speak the truth and are a gentleman and a scholar.
Rudy is absolute bullshit and was only made because Rudy himself bugged studios till they made the thing.

Well, I didn't know the story. So it's hard to predict the ending of a true story you don't know the details of.
Plus from further research I've done, a lot of the predictable elements didn't actually happen in real life.

based on a true story really does not mean anything, look at coach carter for example. they changed most of the story

Blindside was actually a good movie. I really enjoyed it unlike Resurrecting the Champ which also was based on true story. If it wasn't for Samuel Jackson in that movie, it could have been a total garbage.
Anyways, I just watched Book of Eli. What a fucking joke, but it actually is quite enjoyable if you don't know anything about the story from the the get go.

Trippy terry gilliam . Not bad but typical terry gilliam with lackluster story and pretty visuals.

the original Dawn of the Dead. I was extremely underwhelmed. I did enjoy the part when one of the motorcycle dudes decided to check his blood pressure while he was surrounded by zombies. He proceeded to get his guts torn out.

I was forced to watch that movie since 2 of my friends are animators and they wanted to check this shit out. Fuck yeah, it was definitely for children. However, I watched "Battle For Terra" and really liked it, even though it was also for children. Seemed like it was an animated version of

Watched Toy Story 3 and Karate Kid. Toy Story is just what I expect from it, great story and characters, the spanish buzz lightyear is funny and the ending is touching. Karate Kid is goood, like the scene where Jackie Chan beat up those bullies.
