Talk about NBA 2K11 here.
Thu May 27, 2010 10:48 am
ESPN.com's Jon Robinson is
reporting that former NBA great and current Charlotte Bobcats owner (and my favourite all-time player) may be gracing the cover of NBA 2K11. This would mark the first time that a retired player has appeared on the cover of NBA 2K. Robinson also reports that Jordan himself may appear in the game along with former teammates and opponents, offering the opportunity to faithfully recreate the rivalries from the "Jordan Era".
So...if this is true, I guess I'm definitely (and eagerly) picking up both games this year.

Wow. I hope this is true. MJ on the cover with possibly some old teammates. If this is true this is a must pick up.

A first time indeed. It'll be a boost of sale on nba 2k11. Nice marketing strategy indeed.
Finally we are going to see jordan on the game.
Thu May 27, 2010 12:12 pm
2K must've realized that based on the number of downloads for Jordan CAPS in 2K Share.

Hope they'll bring back the old medium-sized jersey and shorts. The ones from 95-97 or 97-98. Today's size and length are too hip-hop for me.
Thu May 27, 2010 1:04 pm
That'd be a nice detail, but I can live with it if they don't.
Thu May 27, 2010 3:36 pm
I rather have good servers than a 2k made MJ but what ever. Its a good marketing move.
Thu May 27, 2010 4:41 pm
Anything MJ is good by me.
Thu May 27, 2010 6:01 pm
As long as you can play by the Jordan Rules, cool.
Thu May 27, 2010 8:13 pm
What the hell? I've never cared much about the cover players, but if they make this happen, just awsome.
Thu May 27, 2010 9:34 pm
Cool thing, but does not really affect the game for me. Improve gameplay and atmosphere, that's what I want!
Thu May 27, 2010 9:41 pm
Absolutely. Nevertheless, if this is true:
Robinson also reports that Jordan himself may appear in the game along with former teammates and opponents, offering the opportunity to faithfully recreate the rivalries from the "Jordan Era".
...that'd be a pretty cool extra.

Jordan is the fucking bomb.
I hope this goes through, I'd buy 2K regardless of who is on the cover but MJ being on the cover would just make it that much more special. My first Live game featured MJ (and TD).
Fri May 28, 2010 2:44 am
That would be definetely great!
I would buy it cause there isn't NBA LIVE on PC but now there's another one reason to do it
Fri May 28, 2010 3:20 am
Gives me a reason to justify buying 2K again. Yeah, I'm a cheapskate.
2K9 - it's the first 2K game for the PC!
2K10 - the franchise is on it's 10th anniversary!
2K11 - Jordan!

Would be nice to finally have Jordan in-game licensed and some classic teams and more classic players from the early 90's with an appropriate uniform fit and short size. If this is true (if it in fact goes beyond just Jordan being in the cover) it's a great addition and fun factor for the game

.

Well, he has been in the game before as a Legend and active player during his tenure with the Wizards. He also made a small appearance on the NBA Live 2000 cover. This is certainly taking things a step further though.

JORDAN... FINALLY...
Sun May 30, 2010 12:43 am
This would be sooooo awesome
Sun May 30, 2010 6:32 am
Just a fake I found...but never the less
Sun May 30, 2010 12:07 pm
Saw that on BDL this morning.

Somehow, I think they'll go with a photo from his playing days.
Sun May 30, 2010 2:54 pm
They should go with him from the late 80's when he was "Air" Jordan
I hope that means that 2k10 has better All-Time teams & also incorporates classic teams (i.e. '00 Lakers, '96 Bulls, '92 Bulls, '89 Pistons, '87 Lakers, '86 Celtics, '83 76ers, '77 Blazers, '72 Lakers etc, '70 Knicks, '67 76ers, '65 Celtics). Would be nice to see All-Time Rosters for each team, although can't see it happening unfortunately

That wouldn't be a bad idea either. I reckon they'll use a photo from the mid to late 90s though...unless they go with a few alternate "collector" covers.

His Airness Whoa!!!!

It wouldn't surprise me if the special editions come with a MJ DVD, a MJ figurine & MJ picture book.
