Favorite Kicks Thread

Postby atlwarrior on Thu May 27, 2010 8:04 am

No work today and Im bored out my mind. Post your favorite kicks at the moment , Kicks you are looking to buy or have bought. Idc as long as their not knockoffs and if so then thats your ass :) unless youre joking around or something. My favorite sneakers to just hang out in are the Jordan Spi'zikes, Nike Dunks, Nike Blazers, Retro Adidas, Chuck Taylors etc. My favorite shoes to do athletic activity in would probably be all of the Kobes made by Nike.

As of right now im definitely looking to get a pair of these (Y). Image

Now I remember why shoe/kick related threads don't go too far. Oz eventually owns it.

Question Oz: if hypothetically you were to buy a pair of kicks, what would you want?

well actually when i was a kid i had some fake legs made that needed shoes.

They were ninja turtle velcro shoes with a hologram thingy on the side that changed from a picture of Raph to the TMNT logo

I'd probly still buy ninja turtle shoes come to think of it. something like

Honestly i'd probly just buy anything that was green and black or Orange and blue (still an Illini no matter how long im out of school i guess)

See I'm a Mikey and Donny fan. Raph was probly my least favorite back then although as i get older i do sort of realize he's the character with the most depth of the four.

But yeah: there ya go.

Question for those of you that have feet. When you buy custom sneakers and shit like that...they cost alot yes? So why the fuck would you ever actually wear them at the risk of fucking them up?

I mean i suddenly understand why my Jewish family goes to sales/outlet malls for everything they buy.

I liked Raph initially because of his weapon (sai). Now it's because of his kickassery.

I buy shoes that I think could stand the fury of a thousand suns!!! but it gets worn down fast anyway.
I always try to twist and bend the sole of the displayed shoe with my hands when choosing a pair to buy, at least not to be noticed by any sales person.
It's durability first for me, then comfort.

The oldest shoe I still have today is my black low cut suede Chucks, it still alive after 12 years. The All Star logo in the heel part of the sole have fallen off, the logo inside the sole that is seen below the shoe moved towards the instep and isn't visible anymore . Parts of the plastic in the edge of the shoelace have already cracked/disappeared, and the white color of the rubber parts have turned to light brown or that old look in rubber, but it is still comfortable to wear.
The only reason I don't wear it now is because the light gray laces gets smudged with dirt so easily and is noticeable when that happens, so it's aesthetics. It's a bitch cleaning sneakers.

The next one would be a 10 year old custom made brown nubuck strap on shoe. Its sole is made from recycled tires. I don't use it now because the metal part that is used to hold the strap on belt is now broken. The metal gave up even before the shoe did. :?

My favorite would have to be my slipon Nike ACG shoe that's colored black, with some gray streaks, and the sole colored yellow. It's light and comfortable but unfortunately not as durable. It has a wagging tongue now.

Since I can't really play bball anymore, I don't really wear those kind of kicks any longer, but when I did I guess the Nike Shox were my faves.
I only wear Pumas and Converse All-Star these days, and some Nike Sparq when I go work out, which is never.

Awesome. (Y) I'm a Leo fan though, primarily because of the swords and blue being my favourite colour. Oh, and he leads, of course.
