I was thinking latly at my job, how to keep myself entertaining! So I decided to make this corny thread, basically name a concert on which you were and rate it....mybe for some here it will be a great way to found out which concerts are good and which arn't.....

So these are the ones i have visited
Lenny"Kravitz - The Love Revolution Tour
What can I say, the best concert I have been! He perfectly mixed his new matrial with the new....He was hyperactive on the stage, walking and dancing.....he talked with the public, heck...I even saw him on the streets walking alone and enjoying life.....The sound was great, he sang better than in the records.....I'll be waiting was probably the best performed song, he sat at the piano and streched the song to about 10min....also other songs were strached.....The Public went crazy when American Woman began and turned into Fly Away.....then he filled up one girls request for "Stand By My Woman", then after "Let Love Rule" he just went into the public to talk with people! Then went back on stage did Again and ended up doing "Are You going my way" at the drums, he was killing it!

Bryan Adams - The World Tour
My second favourite concert.....Bryan had 2 stages so he was perfoming at one than on the other, also he made a perfect mixture between his unpopular songs to his greatest hits.....the people went just crazy hearing Everything I do, Inside out, Forgive me, Summer 69, Heaven.....and the best part every single person knew the words to the song....it was just fucking awsome to sing along with bryan adams.....shit was fantastic

Busta Rhymes - The Big Bang Tour
This was my 2nd rap concert which i visited....and boy is Busta entertaining.....the most thing i hate about a rap concert is the club selection, he performed in the coolest club in Latvia, but still, the club was just to overcrowed. The dj was great for a warm up, he made a funny story mixing popular songs together....then hit the lights out and with star wars melody came busta with spliff star.....Spliff Star is great hype man, they both were just entertaining to watch.....

Rihanna - Good girl gone bad tour
Waste of Money......the girl was late 3 hours.....the warm-up dj sucked, every one was exhousted when she came, and the concert was like one a half hours long.....well yeah...rihanna was fine, she had that leather dress with the butt cheeks out.....she was dancing, shaking that booty, but her singing was awful, the tone was wrong and she sang like 1/3 of a song, the rest was backvocalists....well the stage was cool and the dancer were awsome, but a titty bar with rihannas new cd would look the same as the concert

Linkin Park
I'm not a big fan of them, but i got myself some free tickets so I went to see them.....the warm-up group was boring and wack, and the come-up of linkin park wasn't anything special, but the boys did a good performance, nothing special, the sound was great also the song selection

Korn - The Bitch Please Tour or something like that
Havn't heard a single song from these guys, but yet again it was a free concert for me...1st the public was discusting, some drunk teens with no shirts running around with zits on their backs.....didn't hear the warm up group, but the show was pretty awsome....also the lighting....

Young Buck
My 1st concert ever.....and how drunk I was.....again the club selection was awful, the audiance mostly teens, like myself at that time....shit he was late like 3 hours, he was drunk, smoking weed on the stage, throwing water for no reason at the audiance, and singing one verse from each of his song.....and he talked a lot of bullshit....like put your 2s in the air, this is for my man tupac.....after the concert he banged my 16 year friend in a hotel....she said he was a monster, atleast he can performe somewhere!

Macy Grey - Big tour
A inspiring concert with nothing being special......just a band with 2 backvocalists.....she talked some inspiring stuff on the stage, walking around, i guess she used something before like lenny did. The only thing i didn't get it, why she started to sing Sexy Back, but I try was awsome

I don't feel like rating every single concert I've ever been to but I highly recommend going to a Roots show. That was just awesome, like one huge jam session, lots of impro, instrumental parts and freestyling. It was the most relaxed show ever.

Well lets see if i can put out a list here of the shows and a rating. Also gonna bold the bands (rating system 1-5...1 being never speak of it again to 5 being im still putting my brains back in)
1. Britney Spears My first ever concert because my uncle asked if i wanted to go with my little cousin was LFO and Britney Spears. My uncles jokes were better than the show "what does lfo stand for? from the looks of things it was latinos faking orgrasms" 1/5

2. Hoobastank My second concert was a 5 dollar show put on by MTV headlining Lostprophets and Hoobastank (before they got big). I have to admit...they put on a good show, especially Lostprophets. The highlight was definitely some chick flashing hoobastank and they just stopped in midsong and were like "goddamnit i love this job, where were we?" Not great, but a fun time, which i didnt have nearly enough of in high school 3/5

3. Dashboard Confessional My next concert was free show of dashboard confessional at school with the opener being some guy from alkaline trio solo. Im so underwhelmed by this show that i only remember 2 songs from it. 2/5

4. Papa Roach This is where I finally got to start seeing some good shows. The first show i consider on my list of REAL shows was Papa Roach (cant remember the openers). I just remember being very deaf, very hoarse, and very sore the next day. The band had awesome lighting, great interaction with the crowd (crowd surfing, getting pissed when people werent moshing etc.), and Jacoby Shaddix actually lost his shoe during the show and played the rest of the show with one shoe. It was a small venue and alot of fun. 4/5

5. Shinedown Not a great show but at the same venue as the Papa roach show so it was a good time. I also had a bad sinus infection which affected my enjoyment of it greatly 3/5

6. Weezer/Foo Fighters-This is where my great love of weezer began. If you've never seen them in concert and have heard their albums...go see a show. They're actually quite minimalistic on album and put alot of extra flair into every song. They even did several songs where all band members switched around instruments. I went in a bigger foo fighters fan than weezer fan and came out admitting weezer blew foo fighters out of the water when it came to the show. Dave yelled a little too much for my taste. Also had opening Kaiser Chiefs, a strange little but entertaining band. 5/5 Solely because Weezer blew me away

7. Red Hot Chili Peppers While flea and frusciante rocked me and my friends so hard i think we were pregnant afterwards, this show wasnt worth the cost. They played too much from stadium arcadium and left off under the bridge and otherside (my two fave songs by them). not a bad show all in all, but i'd like to see them in a bigger market and see if kiedis phones it in less. Will never ever take anything away from Flea and Frusciante though, they made their instruments talk like very few can. Gnarls Barkley opened for them and they were a fun little show. 4/5

8. Weird Al-Sure its cheesy, sure its corny, but itsalottafun! (sorry couldnt resist the joke) 3 Hours straight of al and his band playing their goofy parodies and originals. And i knew every word. The high level of intoxication for me may have helped but this was the best 20 dollars i ever spent. Must See Show if you even remotely like him. 5/5

9. Saliva- I've actually seen Saliva twice in the same venue (they came back because i think the first year they didnt fulfill their contract). They played during a blizzard and a grand total of 40 people came to the show. On top of it Josey Scott had a toothache and so they played their hits and left. The opening band for that show ligion was pretty badass though. The second show had drowning pool opening and was a great fucking time with lots of headbanging and lots of beer, and getting hit on by 40 year old women. 3/5 1st show 5/5 2nd show.

I dont think i've forgotten any. Now possibly if you rated your shows, maybe some bands you think you need to see in concert before they break up or you die? For me those include NIN, RATM, Offspring, and possibly Queens of the Stone Age. Also wouldnt mind seeing a Korn, Rob Zombie, or Linkin Park show.

First two concerts, Hanson and Britney I Swear I'm A Virgin Spears. Thank god for Back in Black and portable CD players.

Then Sugar Ray....which was free, good thing....cause it sucked

Then once I met my girlfriend, a Fray concert, again, shoot me please.

Then 1 good one. The Download Tour 2006 or w/e. Jurassic 5, Dropkick Murphy's and 311. That one was pretty epic since a severe thunderstorm blew throw before 311 took the stage.

well you actually don't need to rate them, just tell about the expierence in them!....so that the others know if it's the money worth!....
I'm pretty sure that the roots won't come to Latvia, they are just out of radar here, my friends found out about them only thru me!...

well....i just love seal, he has a very good voice and his songs are relaxing also, but the concert was for me a dissapointment!....The stage was cool, with a large screen at the back, which was cool, also the sound was great, seal was dancing and everything.....the performance was good, the show also, but he only sang the songs from his new album AMAZING, which is full of dance type music.....and i didn't even get the song i liked the most from the album My Wedding......also Kiss From The Rose was performed weakly, and same with loves difine or what's the name of the song! But for luck again I got a free ticket, i was happy that i didn't spend my money on him on the last day!......

Also i wanted to know if anybody has been to a single Akon concert, he is coming over here with Snoop dogg?

I went to the Rockstar Mayhem Festival on Saturday and it was nuts. There were 14 bands and it was headlined by Slipknot and Disturbed. It started raining during the second band's performance, but cleared up for the headliners. It probably was the craziest shit I have ever seen. There was so much random chaos going on everywhere that I am still trying to clear my head.

I wanted to go so bad to Metallica in May, but the tickets sold out in 40min...and the guys who sold tickets after that asked just too much money for them, so i said fuck that!

Better to bump than to start a new topic. Saw Spoon last night (with Deerhunter and some terrible obscure band opening). Was a lot of fun.

Deerhunter was weird. Their lead singer, Bradford Cox, is a virgin with Marfan's Syndrome who once leaked both his solo album and his band's next album via Mediafire when uploading a free song to fans on his blog. The first half of the set was great, then he went on this crazy drug-induced tangent where he ranted for 20 minutes about Kurt Cobain and his fucked-up childhood while the band jammed. Also, a mosher girl jumped on the stage and started dancing.

Spoon was great. Played an exceptional set (was stoked when they played "Anything You Want", even sans piano), despite the surprising omission of "The Way We Get By" (perhaps their best known song). All in all, a great night. Can't wait for Sasquatch festival next month!

Parkway Drive & August Burns Red
feat: Architects, In Trenches

I'd never been more excited for a gig than this one. August Burns Red had long been one of my favourite bands and Parkway are easily the best metal band to come out of Australia in a long long time. In Trenches were a super-group made up of guys from various Aussie hardcore bands that I'd seen months before and were great, and Architects are one of the UK's best hardcore bands so the line-up was insane. It definitely delivered from start to finish, August Burns Red came out and destroyed Architects/In Trenches (even though they were great themselves) and Parkway in turn made ABR look ordinary. A guy in a wheelchair was crowd surfing and ended up on the stage, others were jumping off 10-15 foot balconies into the mosh pit. Awesome night.

Bury Your Dead
feat: Confession, The Separated, In Trenches

Was the first gig I'd gone to in over a year and it took like 15 minutes for me to realize what I'd missed out on. In Trenches I'd never seen or heard of before but they were amazing. The Separated sucked but were entertaining because people were telling them repeatedly they sucked. Confession are great, their lead singer was on Big Brother and was also in I Killed The Prom Queen, Carpathian and Bury Your Dead formerly so he is a pretty big deal. Then Bury Your Dead pretty much destroyed everyones hearing permanently but people were going apeshit and it was awesome to watch.

Deez Nuts, The Amity Affliction
feat: No Way Out, Louie Knuxx

This was the "Drunk and Disorderly" tour... I was looking forward to it but inside the venue was just tool city. It may aswell have been called the "MY FIRST CONCERT OMG IM OUT AT NIGHT AND ABLE TO BUY ALCOHOL!!!!" tour. Nevertheless, No Way Out were good and took my mind off that. Then came Louie Knuxx. Louie Knuxx is a New Zealand rapper who is friends with the singer from Deez Nuts. His music sucks and he didn't belong on this show. He was playing his back-up music from an iPod which at one point crashed. I got laughs because I yelled out "PUT IT ON SHUFFLE" when they were trying to fix it. Anyway, Deez Nuts were great but Amity Affliction were amazing.

The Amity Affliction
feat: We Are The Ocean, Hopeless, Distant Wreck

Amity Affliction tune-up show. They were great, but all very drunk and I think after a while they realized most of the crowd were tools and the lead singer spent 40% of every song just laughing at people in the first few rows. Was also the first time I nearly hit someone at a gig. SOme idiot trying to hardcore dance came crashing into me, I pushed him away so hard that he tripped and face planted on some guys leg. It was pretty funny. We Are The Ocean were terrible but Hopeless were really good so it made up for it.

Wish For Wings
feat: Your Next, Thanks Technology, Distant Wreck

This was a tune-up show for Wish For Wings, the support bands were all local and sucked ass but W4W were great. Though the highlight of the night was this morbidly obese girl in a barely fitting band shirt standing right at the front of the stage, blocking everyone else from getting close and singing EVERY SINGLE LYRIC from every song. She was amusing to watch.

Went to watch Spoon Friday. Always liked their stuff but never got to see them in Australia. Good solid performance as always, they played everything off Transference and mixed in stuff from all their albums. Don't really have much to say except an enjoyable set. It was either them or Vampire Weekend, but I'm more partial to these guys.

The Wailers
So apparently Bob Marley's old band still tours keeping the name of The Wailers alive. Despite no original members whatsoever, they go around calling themselves legendary. Well: all in all they come off like a Marley Cover band. I didn't agree with the setlist order (starting with very unknown/only hardcore marley fanatics know, Ending with Exodus/Funky Reggae Party) and going into an almost straight set of Marley tracks right off of "Legend" They tried to turn 'Exodus' into a party song and its just not. Not a bad show, but i just had hoped for more. Highlights were "No Woman No Cry" and "Is this Love."

Went to Sasquatch for the past two days. Mostly came to see Pavement, but saw some other good bands as well.

- First one I made a point to see was OK Go. They kind of suck, but they were fun to dance to live. Nothing special, but solid.
- Miike Snow kind of sucked. Sound was off a bit. Was mostly there to see them play that song from 2K10, and after they played that, I cut out for...
- The National. I've always liked them, but they exceeded my expectations. Their singer (Matt Berninger) got hammered and they totally rocked. Left out a couple of my favorite songs of their's, but overall, very good show.
- Vampire Weekend was good. There was a great vibe, and the sound was perfect. Also got to dance with some girls.
- My Morning Jacket was ok, but I'm not a huge fan of their's.

- First major band I saw yesterday was They Might Be Giants. They were decent, but I wasn't into the puppet show they did midway through.
- Kid Cudi is a bad rapper, but he's pretty charismatic, and was fun to watch.
- Only caught half of their show, but The xx were okay. Not really a band you'd expect to be super good live, but they were solid. Also glad they played their best songs (VHS and Crystalized) early on
- LCD Soundsystem was fucking awesome. They played a pretty short set, but it was a great dance party. Was disappointed they didn't play All I Want or North American Scum, but they did play All My Friends. Drunk Girls live in the moshpit was crazy
- Pavement's my favorite band, and the reason i decided to come to Sasquatch. I made it all the way to the front of the crowd (!), and got to meet Flavor Flav, who was leaving the VIP area. Pavement was fantastic. They played pretty much all of my favorite songs, and was the only band to do an encore. Awesome.
- Ended with Massive Attack. They couldn't top Pavement, and I don't really like their new material, but they put on a pretty good show as well, considering how many guests feature on their albums. Already decided to go next year.

I don't go to many concerts. but...

I saw Tool like 3 years ago when I was around 17. They were the first band I loved. Their performance was pretty good but I was in the nosebleed section of a stadium and the sound was piss poor up there. I ended up sitting down most of the time. Had a pretty bad time.

I took my sister to a Third Eye Blind Concert. I've never cared for them at all but they do hold some slight nostalgia value for me. They put on a good performance and played all their hits. I was up front. Had a good time actually. Pretty fun.

I've gone to Lollapalooza for the last two years (not going this year though. Lady Gaga? No thanks.)

2008

- Saw Radiohead on the first night. They're a band that really opened up my eyes to a lot of great music and I still like them quite a lot. It was very chill and their stage set and lighting/camera fixtures were utterly transfixing. They played a great mix of new, old, and everything in-between. At one point, at the climax of "The Bends", there were fireworks off in the distance. Got chills. Highlights were "The National Anthem" and an encore performance of "Paranoid Android". I was so afraid that I wouldn't get to here that one. Had a blast.

- Bloc Party. Pretty good but they need to work on their stage presence.

- Rage Against the Machine. I was very excited to see them. My buds and I spent the whole day at the front of their stage. Had to withstand shit like The Ting Tings and Brand New (ugh). Also saw Lupe Fiasco when I was waiting. He did a backflip. About an hour before Rage, the crowd was getting really squished thanks to assholes that were pushing their way up. It kept getting worse and worse. You couldn't stand up at all. There were waves of bodies crammed up against each other and you were constantly being stepped on. I was basically getting slowly crushed to death. Despite the extreme discomfort, I made it for the opening. They had sirens going off and everything. Pretty exciting. I got to hear the first song, ("Testify", I believe). Due to the mass of bodies, there was literally no breathing room. The air was dense with sweat. I had to get crowd-surfed out because I was about to pass out and get probably get killed by the horde of zombies that was the crowd.

I ended up on the outskirts of the stage and could barely even see them. I was so drained anyway that it didn't even matter. I just layed down on the dirt. So yeah, had a pretty shit time.

- Nine Inch Nails. I've never considered myself a fan, but I had an amzing time at this one. I had an amazing view of the stage, fairly close up and direct center. The lights were brilliant and the tempo was fast and furious the entire time. I was jumping for the duration.

2009

The big one I went to was Animal Collective. The band has always intrigued me even if a lot of their music puts me off. I wish I enjoyed this more than I did. It was pretty mediocre. I could barely tell if they were playing songs half the time. It was all hazy and blurry. The psychedelic vibes were good though.

I ended up seeing the Yeah Yeah Yeahs instead of Tool. Karen O forgot the words to their most popular song. Pretty Terrible.

The only other band of note was Deerhunter. I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't think they would able to do capture the magic of Cryptograms bu they sure did. They fucking rocked out. Also, the live songs from Microcastle were much more fun than the studio versions.
