Discussion about NBA Live 2004.

Is this game scripted?
Just a question. You know how WWE is scripted and how action games are programmed to have a sequence happen at a certain time like a boss in supposed to come in at a certain time or the bad guys always stand in a certain place no matter if you turn the game on 15 times. Is NBA Live scripted too like is it programmed so the user has control of how the game turns out for the 1st half, then near the end of the 3rd Q the CPU controls the game (including your shots, FG %, rebounding, assists, etc.) becuase it sure seems like it.
I am not bad-mouthing Live so before a lot of the people in this forum get mad, don't.

No.

No, nothing is pre-determined. This is a "comeback code" that ensures the CPU remains competitive to the end, but the result is up to how you play. It is possible to withstand the late charge and intense play of the final minutes.

what kind of realism is that? 3-pointers are impossible during the last couple minutes of play unless u are behind. that "code" seems like something that should be featured in NBA Jam not a "sim" bball game.

It's better than previous Lives though. NBA Live 2003's CPU comebacks were just plain frustrating. Even though I sometimes get frustrated with a loss in Dynasty Mode, it's just me getting caught up in the atmosphere of the game. In the long run, I would prefer to be challenged and suffer the occasional loss. I think the comeback code has been greatly improved this year; I'm yet to see the CPU make a comeback by stepping back and hitting threes from about 40 feet.

the reason why EA probably puts that in their game is becuase they are desparate for gamers(?). because if you master the a game with realism like SEGA SPorts games, you may not play it anymore so EA adds in to their arcade Live games that little "code". just a thought

Well, I don't agree with that theory, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

You dont play with cpu assistance on do you?

well i mean we may not like it but look at the real nba, teams always make a come back charge, some fall short some dont. teams come back from 20 down to get to within 2, the problem with live is the team very rarely falls short unless u play EXTREMELY smart.
