Talk about NBA Live 95-2002 here.
Mon Oct 20, 2008 12:44 pm
It worked fine on XP before but now it won't....tried on Vista same result.
Here's what it gives me
NBA live Exception Handler Error:
unhandled exception oxc000065 occured at address ox6006c328
stack trace unavailable.
Any1 got any solutions? Only change I did to my nba live folder was to install the latest roster

Uninstall it then and see if that will help.

Any1 else with a better idea?
I don't think that's the problem...I've always been able to run it while updating the roster with alexboom's.

David,
You may need a new, scratch-free CD version of the game. If available, attempt to install your current disk on a desktop equipped with Live 2000 or ME or one of the other archaic operating systems ('95, '98). If, post-installation, you receive a similar error message ("unhandled exception"/"stack trace"), purchase a clean copy of 2000 and install on your operating system of choice; you should be able to find a packaged version of the game at amazon.com or such a web-based retailer. In past years, and on at least two separate occassions, purchasing and installing a new copy of the game has solved this problem for me. Good luck . . .

Reinstalling doesn't help for me either. I had Windows XP Pro pre-SP1 before, and it worked on that OS. I've only recently installed it again on Vista Ultimate SP1, but none of the compatibility options seem to make it work.
I don't think I'm going to try and dual boot an older OS just to test one game. Are there any other fixes?

Symptom(s):
NBA Live 2000* game crashes after introductory movie sequence Error: "NBA Live Exception Handler : Unhandled Exception 0xC0000005 occurred at address 0x6000C328 stack trace unavailable".
Cause:
The game appears to limit the total number of texture formats. An error occurs when using graphics controllers/adapters which exceed the game's forced limit.
Solution:
Intel is not aware of a fix or workaround for this issue. Contact the game manufacturer for further updates, patches, or support.
That's what I found... that's from intel's side... I've got the same problem and it's all because we've got noINTELingent graphic card:/ and there is nothing we can do about it...

Use Software rendering instead of Hardware.

0xC000065 seems to be a problem with Ref Referee in the .dbf's. The error occurs when loading up a game, the players all load okay (indicated in the NBATEMP temporary drawer) and the last file part reported accessed in the dump is a referee part. I used the Ref Referee's from the original file and it works. The referee part of the .dbf are those with the team number 38.
Better late than never.

(I thought I was responding to a thread from 2002, didn't realize how recent this was.)

hello guys
i have been looking for my old nba live 2000 game for a while, and today i finally found it. happy and nostalgic about the whole thing, i put the old (little dusty) cd in my pc and start installing. then when i wanted to play the game, i got the 'Unhandled Exception 0xC0000005 occurred at address 0x6000C328 stack trace unavailable". problem like others on this thread have mentioned already.
my pc is from 2004 with windows xp, so it's well up for a game like nba live2000
i looked around on this forum for tips, there was one other post that said you should try changing the compitability in the nba live folder to windows 2000 (i searched for it, and mine was set on windows 95)
but that still didn't work. i then tried to uninstall and then re-install the game, but what happens now is after 9% of installing the game, i get a message saying 'error copying files' and then everything just closes down.
so is there still no solution to this issue? i never thought it would be so difficult to play an old game...jeez

The CD may be too scratched to be read. Your installation may have been corrupted the first time and that may be why it was getting the exception.

well, the cd is a little scratched, but not that much. i don't think the installation got corrupted the first time since it got installed without any problem (although now it freezes at 9% already). the exception notice came when the intro image with all the legend players popped up... i really do wonder if it's the cd that's to blame, and not the pc or the operating system though...

just to update you on this, now ive been able to re-install it again afterall, and i don't get that stack trace unavailable thing anymore. now it just says insert correct CD and try again

I can only think of two things. The CD really is scratched or yarrr mateys...

thanks for your quick posts guys, guess what, it finally works! yes! i tried to re-install it again, and luckily it didnt stop in midway.
however it did say 'pls insert the correct cd and try again'. i then tried to fumble a little with the compitabilities
by setting it to windows 2000, and it worked.
but i think i have some video problems still. the intro vid looks kinda weird.
the graphics themselves, ouch. maybe its due to the fact that the game is 9 years old now and that i've been used to much better graphics now, but still, the players look pretty awful.
Mon Apr 20, 2009 10:46 am
Yes they do. Especially if the video mode is in software rendering.

i just tried to change the software rendering in the setup mode to rv380, but as soon as i did that,
i get the 'stack trace unavailable' thing again.
does this mean i have to choose between either playing with crappy graphics or not playing at all?

It would seem so, unless it's a driver issue in which case updating or rolling back might do the trick.

There are a few menu and game loading screen glitches, but I find it otherwise plays fine. Win 98 compatibility also in my experience is a definite no-no with this game. On my PC, it slows the game down to a crawl, and I've read I'm not alone. IMO, it's about time Windows built the core o/s binaries into the compatibility feature not whatever the hell they use. As for the 0x0000...C error, I seem to remember getting this one, but can't remember what I done. All mine though I think are from customization and not original files.

I had this problem and I solved it.
I can play NBA Live 2000 on Windows Vista Home Basic
1. Install this:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... F707D7A2E92. Set compatibility with Windows 2000 (with Windows 98 or XP doesn't work).
3. Set software render.
Play

Good to know. I'll go ahead and sticky this thread so we've got the solution handy.

i have xp sp3 italian, and i have my backup copy of nba live 2000 italian too.
i remember than in 2000 i played on windows ME with this game, and it works.
the cd is ok, the installation is ok, all the files are copyed on the hd but when i try to launch the .exe file it doesn't happen anything.
i tryed to use compatibility mode with 95-98-2000-nt option, but the result is the same.
if i use 256 color option or 640x480 option, colors or pixels of my screen changing and after 2-3 seconds they return normal.
but the game don't start. both in software rendering or 3d card mode.
