Wojnarowski on Bogut and the Bucks

Pretty good read about a team that's doing exceptionally well as of late: Bogut at center of Bucks’ revival

I don't entirely agree that Bogut was something of a bust until this year, though I suppose there are people who would have felt that way. I think opportunity is as big a factor as anything else, unfortunate injuries and the Bucks being Redd's team in years gone have meant that the opportunities just weren't there (or fell through). It's great to see it all coming together for him though.

A good read and I'm really happy for Bogut and the Bucks and that they're doing so well.

The Knicks passed on Jennings, too, and they’re paying for it.

They're really paying for it now.

Bogut's been getting a lot of press lately. One guy even had him at #10 on his MVP award list.

Good for the Bucks. Glad to see them doing well. Still haven't forgiven Bogut for the crap he said about Longley though.

I never really bought into Bogut being a bust. I always thought he was one of the top 10 centres in the game and right now, he's arguably in the top 5. It's nice to see him get some recognition now.

Longley's a chump. Bogut was just being honest. You can't compare a talented 7 footer to a stiff.

I wouldn't go that far. In NBA terms, Longley was no special talent but he was competent enough to be a solid contributor on a successful team. As an individual talent, Bogut's left him in the dust but he can be unnecessarily brash/boganish and I do find that a bit grating at times.

Speaking of Australia, the Bucks aren't enthused about Bogut playing in the Worlds.

Not the first time in recent years that Milwaukee's had issues with the various National teams. I also enjoyed some of the comments on the above article.

I'd forgotten that Brett Brown was an assistant with the Spurs.

I wouldn't mind Bogut skipping the Worlds. We have so much frontcourt depth that we really wouldn't miss him that much.

I really want to see Bogut play for the national side but Coach Brown thinks he will skip it. Can't compromise his NBA duties to play in the Worlds... so I guess that if that is his choice, then we will have to respect that. Although, I would love for him to choose country ahead of club.

I think he should choose the Bucks over Australia. The Boomers play a guard-oriented offence, so it's all about C.J. Bruton & Paddy Mills. Bogut is lucky to get more than 6-8 shots per game. Rest up Bogie, you can play Olympics instead.

And Andrew, Longley is a bigger bogan than Bogut. Longley wasn't a stiff but he played very stiff.

Perhaps, but Bogut seems more prone to making outlandish remarks when he should probably just keep his mouth shut. Regardless, I'm a big fan of both of them.

I must admit though that I did enjoy it back in the day when Longley had good games. Flying the Aussie flag & all.

Bogut should be like a superstar back in Australia I guess. Like Steve Nash to Canada... but it's really hard to catch PHX game on TV here. In fact, they don't care at all... Most of times you can see Nash on TV is in commercials or on some show programs. :?

He'd be a bigger star if basketball was more widely watched and respected here. I guess people are more interested in the personal lives of Michael Clarke and Lara Bingle.

Sickening. Repeating the sentiments from the other thread, hopefully it's not as bad as it looks but it looks plenty bad.
