DJ Augustin Lured To Wizards
WASHINGTON (AP) – The Charlotte Bobcats lost backup point guard DJ Augustin who was allured by the Wizards’ money and better prospects of reaching the NBA postseason. 24 year old Augustin spent his first four NBA seasons in Charlotte but the Bobcats could not offer him the role he wanted nor the money that he thought he could command.
His agent told reporters, “It wasn’t a hard decision for DJ to make. Charlotte didn’t want to give him a long enough deal. They didn’t want to commit to him. Washington really impressed us when they offered a five year deal. That’s 60 million dollars on the table. And they promised that he would be the team’s sixth man. That’s what we were looking for all along.”

Shaq Makes Surprise Move
SACRAMENTO (AP) – The burn of just missing out on another NBA title was enough to motivate Shaquille O’Neal from retiring from professional basketball. O’Neal made a shock decision to resign with the Sacramento Kings at the age of 40. Sources say that the future Hall-of-Famer signed for less money but requested that the team create a condition on his contract to start him at centre.
The Kings, who lost a seven game series in the Finals against the Atlanta Hawks, were pleased to have their starting centre back. A statement was released by the team, ‘It is with great joy that the Kings announce the decision of Shaquille O’Neal’s to continue his career in Sacramento. In what will be his final season in the NBA, it is ironic that he has chosen to play it out for the team whom he considered a bitter rival in the early 2000s. However, we are more than happy with his decision and expect that a title run is within reach.’
O’Neal averaged 8.4 ppg and 5.0 rpg in the 2011-12 season. His minutes were down to 24 a game as he struggled to stay on the court for long stretches but the veteran still believes he has enough left in the tank to be a contributor in his 21st and final NBA season. “I can still play,” O’Neal tried to convince media yesterday.

Steve Nash Returns ‘Home’ To Dallas
DALLAS (AP) – The continued failure of the Portland Trailblazers to win an NBA title spurred Steve Nash on but enough had become enough when the Blazers fell in the second round of the playoffs. Nash was fed up and that has resulted in him returning to Dallas where he first came to prominence. “It’s great to have him back,” Dirk Nowitzki stated, “Time to get back to winning.”
The 38 year old point guard signed a one year deal but that could lead to a longer stay. All signs indicate that he still has a bit left in him. Nash averaged 14 ppg and 7 apg last season for the Blazers. Nash confirmed, “Dallas is the last calling card of my career. The only question is when I will retire and not where. I am happy to be back.” He spent five seasons for the Mavs from 98-99 till 03-04 before joined the Phoenix Suns and winning his first MVP award. Nash vows that he will help the Mavs win a title to end his career.
Nash also brought along with him a present from the Blazers as he coerced PG Jerryd Bayless to join him in Texas. The Mavs now have a strong group of point guards in Nash, Bayless, and prospect Stanley Mayo.

Houston Trades McGrady To Denver
HOUSTON (AP) – A back injury forced Tracy McGrady to sit out the entire 2011-12 NBA season. A new manager has forced McGrady out of Houston. After working rigorously to get back in game shape, the former NBA All-Star was dealt to Denver in a blockbuster deal. The deal involves six players and a draft pick but details are still being finalized.
Sources have confirmed that the definite inclusions to the deal are McGrady from the Rockets and Andrew Watson, Chauncey Billups, Nene, and a first round draft pick from the Denver Nuggets.
New Rockets GM Kenny Smith accidentally leaked the deal via his Twitter account, We’re getting two international stars, a class point guard to help mentor Ndiaye, and a future first rounder for T-Mac. Sorry to see T-Mac leave but it’s best for both parties!
The Rockets are required to add another player or two to make the deal happen but those details will be released by the teams after the deal has been finalized. However, sources have reported that it is as good as done and the parties are only waiting for the NBA to approve the deal.

Actually, it's Dirk's team. Get over yourself.
Your shameless plug is like The X declaring Yao's team as his own.

The Nuggets Rockets trade is definitely so one-sided that it hurts. Looking forward to a press statement by the X
