Air Ball Layups and No Commentary

Sun Feb 21, 2010 3:23 pm

Hey guys, several problems have come up for me. Sometimes when my players drive into the lane and try to do layups or floaters (basically anything inside the paint other than dunks), they air ball them. This did not happen until I turned up all the graphics in 2k10 after I got a new computer. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Also, the announcers stop talking right after the tip-off. I don't know what's wrong. Thanks for your help in advance.

In 2k9 this issue could be fixed by turning the vsync setting off and on again.

Air ball layups happen with big men. It is because they euther have a low layup rating or they have rookie bigman. Just try not going baselie and it wont happen. It never happens with gaurds thoug

I tried turning vsync on and off and played a game, but Vince Carter missed a layup badly and Lewis airballed a short runner. I remember PGs airballing too like Mo Williams.

Something like this guy's (pretty bad quality but you get the idea): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEhYhxNzP_A

And it's not just air ball layups, but many shots inside the paint other than shots off the glass or dunks are air balls. In 2k9, that happened to me in practice, but the issue didn't come up during games, so I wasn't affected by the problem. Are there any alternatives or has this also happened to anyone else?

Make sure your video card doesn't have an "always off" setting for Vsync that might override the in-game setting. As for the announcers, make sure you have directx sound acceleration all the way up, try upgrading your sound drivers or even re-installing the game. Those are teh troubleshooting steps I would take.
