Charlotte Bobcats - 2010/11 | Player-by-player Preview
Part two - The Power Forwards

Tyrus Thomas | 6'9'' | 215 lbs | 5 years pro | LSU
| 2009-10 | CHA | 10.4 PPG | 5.8 RPG | 0.9 APG | 0.7 SPG | 1.8 BPG |
The Bobcats acquired Thomas from the Bulls to prepare for the summer of 2010. Despite their efforts, they couldn't land Dwyane Wade or Chris Bosh. The Bobcats however got Thomas in exchange for Acie Law and Flip Murray. With his great athleticism and defensive skills, Thomas quickly got the starting nod over Boris Diaw who was later traded for Marcus Camby.
Thomas was a restricted free agent this summer and he said he wanted to see what offers he would get on the market. The Clippers signed him to a 4-year deal, but the Bobcats quickly matched it. Thomas wasn't disappointed and felt that the Bobcats are the right place for him.
Thomas, now entering his 5th season, has great mentors in Marcus Camby and Theo Ratliff and can develop into a real presence down low.
-------------------------------
Marcus Camby | 6'11'' | 235 lbs | 15 years pro | Massachusetts
| 2009-10 | POR-CHA | 5.7 PPG | 7.6 RPG | 1.1 APG | 0.0 SPG | 1.7 BPG |
Camby was upset about being traded to Portland at first, but got used to it. He played a big part for the young Blazers, but as Boris Diaw became more and more upset about not playing as much, Portland sent him to Charlotte for the Frenchman.
Camby got used to his role in Charlotte, respecting the choices of head coach Larry Brown. Camby's contract ended with the 2009/10 season, but team president and majority owner Michael Jordan insisted that they re-sign Camby. Camby signed for one more year as he hopes to help this team to their first Playoff appearance.
-------------------------------
Ed Davis | 6'10'' | 225 lbs | Rookie | North Carolina
| 2009-10 | UNC | 12.9 PPG | 9.2 RPG | 0.9 APG | 0.4 SPG | 2.7 BPG |
Ed Davis was the Bobcats' 10th pick in the 2010 draft after a great Sophomore season as a Tar Heel. Davis has great shot-blocking and rebounding skills, just like many other players in the Bobcats roster.
Davis is fortunate to have veterans like Camby and Ratliff to help him as he makes the transition from the College game to the NBA.

Up next : Small Forwards

Charlotte Bobcats - 2010/11 | Player-by-player Preview
Part three - The Small Forwards

Gerald Wallace | 6'7'' | 220 lbs | 10 years pro | Alabama
| 2009-10 | CHA | 16.3 PPG | 7.7 RPG | 1.1 APG | 1.3 SPG | 1.0 BPG |
Gerald Wallace has been the leader of this team for many years and he is looking to lead his team to the Playoffs. This is the year where he probably has the best supporting cast. Wallace's numbers were down a bit, but that's down to better teammates.
Last years All-Star snub just added fuel to his fire. The Bobcats need a better year then last the last from Wallace to make the Playoffs and Wallace is more determined then ever to deliver.
-------------------------------
Derrick Brown | 6'8'' | 227 lbs | 2 years pro | Xavier
| 2009-10 | CHA | 2.7 PPG | 1.6 RPG | 0.3 APG | 0.0 SPG | 0.2 BPG |
Brown was quiet last year, but could see his minutes increase this year with the departure of Stephen Graham (FA). Brown has a lot to give. He's hyper-athletic and, just like Crash, can play both forward positions on both ends of the floor.
-------------------------------
Up next : Shooting Guards
Tue Feb 23, 2010 6:50 am
Charlotte Bobcats - 2010/11 | Player-by-player Preview
Part four - The Shooting Guards

Stephen Jackson | 6'8'' | 221 lbs | 11 years pro | Oak Hill Academy (HS)
| 2009-10 | CHA | 17.2 PPG | 3.2 RPG | 3.9 APG | 1.3 SPG | 0.4 BPG |
Jackson has been a great addition to the Bobcats. He led the team in scoring last season and proved to be a very reliable scorer and a good defender, just the qualities coach Brown looked for.
Now in his 11th season, Jackson and Wallace form the duo to lead this team mixed with youth and experience to the Playoffs. Jackson also kept down his turnover, achieving the lowest average in 9 years.
-------------------------------
Shannon Brown | 6'4'' | 211 lbs | 5 years pro | Michigan State
| 2009-10 | LAL | 7.8 PPG | 1.1 RPG | 1.0 APG | 0.9 SPG | 0.6 BPG |
Brown was a key player for the Lakers for the last 2 years, but the Lakers opted not to re-sign him. Brown returned to Charlotte where he began his professional career. This time, Brown is a key player for the team and he also brings NBA Finals experience to the team.
In practice, it is known that Brown, Wallace, Henderson, Thomas and Derrick Brown have dunk competitions and Brown has yet to lose. He will bring his hyper-athleticism to the floor as he is know to do.
-------------------------------
Gerald Henderson | 6'5'' | 215 lbs | 2 years pro | Duke
| 2009-10 | CHA | 2.8 PPG | 0.9 RPG | 0.4 APG | 0.4 SPG | 0.2 BPG |
Henderson has shown flashes of greatness last season and he could become a big part of the future of the Bobcats. Against the Celtics, he scored 15 points last season in just 10 minutes of play. The Bobcats beat the struggling Celtics in a blowout.

Nice previews man, you should give Ed Davis some playing time and maybe add another SF

Charlotte Bobcats - 2010/11 | Player-by-player Preview
Part five - The Point Guards

Raymond Felton | 6'1'' | 198 lbs | 6 years pro | North Carolina
| 2009-10 | CHA | 11.7 PPG | 2.0 RPG | 6.7 APG | 1.3 SPG | 0.2 BPG |
Felton has been the starting point guard for this franchise ever since he was drafted. With the addition of veteran Jason Kidd, Felton offered his starting role to the veteran, but the 37-year old Kidd left Felton in charge.
Felton wanted a long-term deal with the Bobcats and he happily accepted the Bobcats offer, keeping Felton in Charlotte for another 5 years.
-------------------------------
Jason Kidd | 6'4'' | 210 lbs | 17 years pro | California
| 2009-10 | DAL-UTA | 6.8 PPG | 7.0 RPG | 10.4 APG | 2.0 SPG | 0.5 BPG |
Kidd was traded to Utah last year despite averaging his traditional near triple-double statistics all across the board. He racked up 3 triple-doubles last year. In Utah, he backed up Deron Williams and Kidd was fine with that role, playing for Jerry Sloan
Some say Kidd's addition wasn't necessary for the Bobcats with last seasons steady play from D.J Augustin, but as the Jazz offered Kidd for Desagna Diop and the Bobcats 41st pick in the draft Devin Ebanks, the Bobcats couldn't say no.
Irnoically, the first opponent for the Bobcats are the Mavericks, Kidd's former club.
-------------------------------
D.J. Augustin | 6'0'' | 180 lbs | 3 years pro | North Carolina
| 2009-10 | CHA | 11.2 PPG | 0.5 RPG | 2.0 APG | 0.3 SPG | 0.1 BPG |
Augustin can expect a drop in minutes this season with Kidd on board. His shooting and scoring ability won't go unnoticed, as Augustin can also play the two-guard, where he'll likely spend most of his minutes.
