Discussion about NBA Live 2004.

I've simmed 1/2 a season, and the scoring averages are way high. Pierce has the highest avg. per game of like 43 points per game and the top 15 or so all avg. over 30 per game. Is there any way to get these scoring averages down to a more realistic level - mid- 20's per game?
I though perhaps increasing the player fatigue and cpu sub percentage would help. Doesn't seem to have. Any other ways to lower avg. per game when simming?

That is weird because in mine no one ever gets over 30 ppg!

Yeah... that is weird. Because even user controlled teams where the star scores 40ppg. will have their averages lowered if the rest of the season was sim'd.

Are you using a roster patch, or the default rosters?

it depends on your slider setting. try lowering cpu short/mid/long range sliders.
i used to have the cpu shooting sliders low so i can get used to the game, and when i simmed several games, it gave me accurate scoring averages (highest scorer around 30 and so on). but then i got "too" good; so i increased the cpu shooting sliders to match my offense output. and when i simmed several games with the changed slider settings, the scoring averages went up into the 40's.

Sliders dont have to do with
simmed games.
Like andrew said, which rosters are you using?

Actually I'm using the NBA Live Rosters that Ben developed. I don't want to start a war here, both rosters are really good, it just seemed that these rosters had a bit more accurate starting lineups and active players that were actually on a teams roster.
I've been able to get a bit lower points per game averages by jacking player fatigue up to 100 (more subs in theory), jacking up CPU subs (though this should only work for played games not simmed), and I also reduced the time per quarter for simmed games - which is what I think really helped to lower the points per game. I think I went from 12 to 8 or something like that for simmed games. Top scorer is still Pierce (though I lowered his ratings) with 30 per game. The rest of the top 20 or so are above like 24 per game and up which is pretty realistic - still a little high.
The scores for the games are a bit low, but not too bad, as it seems scoring is down anyways. My simmed stats are looking much better now.

That issue with Ben's rosters has been reported before - Ben has said that he's going to fix it.
