Might be the amount of RAM needed by Win7.

The problem is your processor. NBA 2K10 is a terrible port off the 360 version and 2K made it that you won't get a perfect 60 FPS without a Quad Core processor.
If you have a Dual Core processor and your settings are set to high, most likely you will get low FPS.
What you need to do is to change your config.cfg. You can google how to change it to get better FPS

Your OS definetely isn't the problem. I'm not sure that it's your systems fault as well unless something is below the minimum requirements (your video card looks suspicious). You should be able to run the game at least on low settings though.

Windows 7 64bit is not at fault here, 2K10 works perfectly on that version.
Your system seems to meet minimum requirements, but your GPU is a little weak for this. Still, that shouldn't keep you from launching the game, it may be due to faulty drivers.

Your graphic card (NviDia GeForce 9200M GS) is not made for playing games at all. Anything less than nVidia 8600GT or ATI 3850 is not recommended for normal playing.

i don't think the pc configuration is everything. it may be the game settings aswell.
I had Windows XP, and played 1280x1024, everything on low except for player detail and texture resolution which were on medium. i also had people on the side of the court ON.
Now i have windows 7 and i can't make it playable on 1280x1024. Any ideas?
My specs: P4 3.00GHz, 2 Gb RAM, nVidia 8600GTS

JaoSming are you saying that Iff editor, portrait editor and Vlad's roster editor do indeed work with Windows 7 32bit? I just want to make sure before I upgrade!

NBA2k10 on windows 7

try to edit the config file:

VIDEOSETTING_ADAPTERINDEX = 0
VIDEOSETTING_WIDTH = 1440
VIDEOSETTING_HEIGHT = 900
VIDEOSETTING_COLORDEPTH = 32
VIDEOSETTING_VSYNC = 0
VIDEOSETTING_REFRESHRATE = 75
VIDEOSETTING_WINDOWMODE = 0
VIDEOSETTING_MSAA = 4
VIDEOSETTING_MSAAQUALITY = 2
VIDEOSETTING_MAXTEXTURESIZE = 4096
VIDEOSETTING_DEPTHOFFIELD = 1
VIDEOSETTING_FLOORREFLECTION = 1
VIDEOSETTING_PLAYERLOD = 0
VIDEOSETTING_STADIUMLOD = 1
VIDEOSETTING_CROWDDETAIL = 2
VIDEOSETTING_SHADERDETAIL = 1
VIDEOSETTING_SIDELINECHARACTER = 0
VIDEOSETTING_ANISOTROPICQUALITY = 2
VIDEOSETTING_PARTICLEFFECT = 0
VIDEOSETTING_FORCE_HDR_ON_INTEL_GPU = 0
MAIN_LOGICAL_THREAD = 0
GPU_LOGICAL_THREAD = 1
STALL_CPU_ON_END_FRAME = 1
LIMIT_FLIP_QUEUE_LENGTH = 2
LIMIT_FLIP_QUEUE_LENGTH_SLEEP = 0
STICKYKEY = 498
TOGGLEKEY = 50
FILTERKEY = 114
ACCESSIBILITYKEY_SAVED = 1
LANGUAGE = -482460772
WINDOW_X = 0
WINDOW_Y = 0
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_0 = 1
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_1 = 5
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_2 = -1
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_3 = -1
NETWORK_PERFORM_BENCHMARKING = 1
NETWORK_OPT_UPSTREAM_BANDWIDTH = 99999
ONLINE_FORWARDED_PORT = 0

to be specific ::: STALL_CPU_ON_END_FRAME = 1
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_0 = 1
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_1 = 5
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_2 = -1
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_3 = -1

and on nvidia control panel: " if you're using nvidia i dunno on ATI"
manage 3d settings and add nba 2k10.exe on program settings

maximum pre-rendered frames 2
vertical sync force on

the rest are global settings

try to overclock your processor as much as possible to 2.8 or 3.0 GHZ
overclock your GPU on stable performance
update graphics driver

THEN YOU'LL GET THE BEST PERFORMANCE and QUALITY
but still WE NEED THE OFFICIAL PATCH cause the game has so many bugs and it may be able to fix the framerate

2k10 suddenly started lagging about 2 months after switching to win7 (x32). Ive got everything maxed out and performance test tells me that the game runs at 57 or so fps but during association games it lags significantly.
My specs:
2GB RAM (DDR3)
AMD Phenom II x2 3.1Ghz
Radeon HD4870 1GB GDDR5

It should run smoothly but it doesn't.

I have installed on a good single core cpu running xp and had no problems other that the game runs slowly. I have built a new cpu with the intel i7 920 processor, 6 gigs of ram, and a G260 graphics card I thin (lol) when I go to run the setup to install on new cpu the windows intaller fails with a 1639 error code. I am running windows 7 ultimate x64 Can anyone help me with this issue. It sounds like a compatability issue, but it seems like others are running it on windows 7 ? Please help ASAP. Thanks!

HEYYYYY!!!!

I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate on my iMac.

3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

4GB 1067 MHz RAM

and it says that NBA 2k10 is incompatible?

Troubleshooting tells me that I should be able to run it on XP..

Will this be a waste of time since there is something ELSE going wrong?!
