Watched The Informant! and I didn't enjoy it. Not that it was a bad film, it just wasn't very good, imo. Almost trying too hard to be funny or dark, while also trying to be a serious drama, it was one of those films that didn't know what it wanted to be.

Was bored and didn't feel like going to bed too early, so decided to check out that movie Gamer.... not sure what I expected but afterward felt like I should have just slept instead of wasting that hour and half or however long the movie was.

Inglourious Basterds

Sorry, but I do not know why this movie has so high rate. I can not believe that the people are watching this sh1ty film. I think that Quentin Tarantino stopped making a good films in 90s - Pulp Fiction was good, R Dogs too, but after this films he didn't make movie which can compete with them. Inglourious Basterds (WTF, is he illiterate?) are popural because he did this movie, if this movie was directed by some noname director you will not heard about it. He hasn't won the Oscar Award, you can image why? Because his latest films were not good. If you didn't see that film, please do not watch it. You will waste your time. This film has no good dialogues, scenes, NOTHING. The acting are so poor. His name causes that this film is popular, nothing else. DO NOT WATCH IT!

I've watched a lot of movies, and I thoroughly enjoyed the dialogue and found Christoph Waltz to be an excellent actor. You're in the minority, according to a lot of critics.

Maybe, but I am not goin with trends. I just say that it's a poor film. Lots of people thinks this same but they do not admin to that. They are not enough assertive, so they use phrase "Don't film it but it's a good film". Wtf? It's a good film and you didn't enjoy it? How is it possible? Bullsh1t.

A critic's job isn't to follow trends, but to judge a movie through critical analysis. It received a nice score on Rotten Tomatoes. It has nothing to do with hype or trend, because even those big name movies fail.

I wasn't sure what to expect with Inglorious Basterds, but I really enjoyed the movie. There are people who didn't like it, including yourself, but that's a matter of opinion.

So I have to change my mind about this film because someone from some website thinks that Inglourious Basterds is good? Don't think so. Stop tryin to convince me, because I have watched this movie and I think what I think.

dude you need to calm down. Its all subjective. Cy liked it you didnt. Leave it at that and stop getting so pissed over not liking a movie or two. We all watch bad movies, shit i do it on purpose alot of times...

Last night watched Purple Rain and Planes trains and automobiles

Purple rain was sorta like 8 mile with prince but not as good a story...was quite bored by it. The main girl was hot though and is topless for a bit (Y)

Planes Trains and Automobiles: I like steve martin john candy and john hughes but this just didnt work for me. Steve martin being that mean bugged me I guess.

Best part of that movie-

Neal: Del... Why did you kiss my ear?
Del: Why are you holding my hand?
Neal: [frowns] Where's your other hand?
Del: Between two pillows...
Neal: Those aren't pillows!

Saw Surrogates and Public Enemies yesterday, both pretty good movies especially Public Enemies. Right now Burn After Reading is on HBO and it's a pretty damn funny movie as well.

After watching Surrogates I've had the feeling that the movie was made too short. Its trailer was good though.

Lenny with Dustin Hoffman: classic for sure. If you have never heard of lenny bruce and enjoy standup comedy at all...see that movie. Without him, most modern comedians wouldnt be working.

Can officially add Anvil: the story of anvil to that list. Great documentary about a rock band who were the next big thing in the early 80s. Now, they're 50 and struggling to provide with their families and try to make their band go in the right direction. The show starts with a shit tour in europe (they dont get paid, play for 10-15 people etc.) and follows their quest to get their 13th album recorded and distributed for their fans.

Great Rock Doc.

Said I'd be away, and I still am...but I would like any dog lovers to take the time to watch "Hachiko: A Dog's Story". It's remade from a Japanese version...maybe that one is better, who knows. As a previous owner of 5 dogs...I really enjoyed the movie.

Strong, strong recommendation.

My thought too. It was alright, nothing particularly good or bad about it, quite predictable overall.

I had never seen One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, and I can see why they got so many oscars, it was quite brilliant. In blu-ray, it looks like the movie was made 10-15 years ago, instead of 35.

Depressing as hell, but compelling story and great acting indeed.

Saw Shooter with Mark Wahlberg. Quite predictable, nothing to write home about but a pretty solid conspiracy/action movie overall.

See i didn't get depressing from The Wrestler, Im usually really disappointed by oscar nom stuff (especially if there's people i like in it or it was talked up to me) and the spoiler below.
Sure, Ram very well may have died after winning that match (thats how i was interpreting), but he went out doing what he loved with the people who meant the most to him. He was a fuck up in everything else. He couldnt get his daughter back, Pam shot him down, and he was a "has-been" to everyone but his fans. The fans loved him: no matter what and he gave everything he had and including his life to give them his all. Maybe not a happy ending where he becomes a legend again, his daughter is back, and he marries Pam...most likely a tragic one. But just because the hero is tragic doesnt mean they viewed themselves as a tragedy. That kind of passion, even if it killed him and fucked up alot of people on the way always baffles me and is fascinating. Sorta like into the wild. Yeah he dies in the end, yes he fucks up alot of people (the old man in arizona i think it was? In real life he became an atheist after Alexander Supertramp died because if there was a god shit like that wouldnt happen to a kid like alex) but thats not what the trip was about. Its all about the love of a cause so great you'd give anything to achieve it.

Shooter was a good time. was pleasantly surprised by wahlberg in it.

Watched "The Man from Earth." If you can stand a bunch of dialog in one room and an interesting take on some things from human history it's worth a look-see. An immortal man reveals the truth about himself to a group of colleagues during a goodbye-party before he moves out of town. Disbelief/belief(what if), debate, questions and answers fill the conversations. If you don't like slow movies with no action or scenery changes, you might not like it. Pretty low budget.
