Bucks to sign Stackhouse

ESPN Article

The Milwaukee Bucks will sign veteran guard Jerry Stackhouse to a contract for the rest of the season, according to NBA front-office sources.

Sources told ESPN.com that Stackhouse is expected to formally sign with the Bucks on Monday or possibly Tuesday after the Martin Luther King holiday.

The former All-Star guard has been looking for a new team since the summer and was targeted by the Bucks -- who began play Sunday two games out of the final playoff spot in the East -- after Michael Redd suffered a season-ending knee injury last Sunday in Los Angeles against the Lakers.

Solid pickup for the Bucks.

Well, I suppose he can't shoot worse than last season since that isn't possible.

Stupid signing. Shot 29% last season, 46% the season before, Jodie Meeks has been solid lately and they didn't need to spend any money considering they just got rid of Roko Ukic to save cash. Also you've got a guy like Morris Almond who could actually make the team next season and beyond averaging 28/5 on 51% from the field and 40% from 3 in the D-League while Stackhouse was trying to decide whether to go and play in China or not.

There has to be something he just can't do on the NBA level. Former first round pick who has never ever had an impact/chance in the NBA. I remember he was a scorer with swiss cheese D back in college at Rice, but I don't know if he has improved at all on the defensive end. That may be a reason not to have him up. They don't have any size in that back court either:

Jennings- 6-1
Ridnour- 6-2
Meeks- 6-4
Bell- 6-4

Delfino is an option too.

where's Adrian Griffin? it would be a classic Skiles move to ask management to dig up this guy and put him in the starting lineup & in crunchtime
Jump.

He's currently an assistant coach for the Bucks. Surprising he hasn't made a comeback on a 10 day contract.
