Because sometimes the CPU does stupid things. You can try changing his position to SF/PF but he might end up in the starting lineup instead of Artest.

is there a way to change the substitution logic of the computer? i was able to figured out how the cpu will play man to man defense all of the time but i cant find anything for the substitution

about this there is some things that change`s that but i don`t remember what.. as far as i know my CPU plays pretty smart basketball & substitus allmost all players... i dunno it is something in the Ai,Anim folder some files that changes u`r CPU playing style as i think..

what modifications did you do?

replaced xplays.viv and other files but i think you need to get and updated settings files in my documents/nba live 05/settings folder

it`s the same Titan aiact which i uploaded there nothing to try new.. only thing is the defence of CPU and normal Gameplay of CPU

i opened teams.dbf file using excel then made zoneusage column to 0

Hmm, certainly an obvious solution. The thing is, I don't remember touching that field at all; there was certainly no conscious effort to increase zone usage in the rosters compared to previous roster updates or the default rosters. I'll keep it in mind for future updates though, thanks.

andrew could you please make the cpu play man to man defense all the time? i was able to do that before but when i reinstalled my game i wasnt able to do it again. i did everything but still i cant do it. please help me. i hate to see that great defensive teams like the celtics and spurs use zone defense to guard me, thats just unreal. please help.

If changing the ZONEUSEAGE attribute didn't help then I honestly don't see what else I can do. As I said, there was no conscious decision in the creation of the updates to make the CPU play more zone defense and I haven't touch the zone usage attribute at all.

Not offhand, no. But like I said, if changing zone usage doesn't get the desired results I'm not sure what else we can do. Perhaps try a different aiact if you can find a working link. I haven't had any other complaints or feedback about too much zone defense while using the rosters.

hey man i did it again! lol. i know what to do. form teams.dbf change zonesage and vszone column to 0 then from defplays.dbf change everythin to -1. now im pretty happy about cpu's defense, no more celtics playing zone defense.

Glad to hear you've got it working. I'll consider it for future updates but as I said, no one else has had any complaints so far so I'd rather hear some more feedback before I go ahead with any mass changes like that, just in case they produce undesirable results in some other way.

idk why people arent complaining about zone defense. i mean come on! is it ok i fill make a thread about cpu playing zone defense and let see what will be their response?

No need for that. The conclusion I'm drawing from the lack of complaints about the zone defense in the updates suggests that other people are not experiencing the same problems.

That said, if anyone else is having those problems by all means speak up and I'll see what I can do with the changes boyhaba has made.
