Hello Everyone,
I will be doing an association with the New Orleans Hornets. I will be simming the first season and I will start with the 2010-2011 season. I'll use the 2010 draft class which includes John Wall and the like. I will also use the 2k site for the recaps.
It's my first time doing an association and i hope this goes well. All comments and suggestions are appreciated so I can improve. Thanks!

Shaquille O’neal retires in the NBA
After playing for a season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, 16 time All-Star Shaquille Oneal decided to call it quits. He announced in a press conference held yesterday. “This year was a very good year. I had a great time with Cleveland. The team, the organization, we built great chemistry and I think we played really really well. But I’m getting old now, I’m getting slower and slower by the day and I don’t think I can still keep up with the young guys.” Said the 38 year-old center.
Proof of what he has said, the big diesel only averaged 8.4ppg and 6.8rpg in the playoffs, playing in an average of 27.8 mpg. He was almost a non-factor in the series against Boston in the Eastern Conference Finals where they got swept. O’neal announced months earlier that if the Cavs don’t get the championship, he will likely retire.
The 1st overall pick from LSU played for five different teams in his career, namely, the Orlando Magic (the team which drafted him), the Los Angeles Lakers, where he won three rings with Kobe Bryant, the Miami Heat, where he was a part of the 06 champion team, the Phoenix Suns, and his last team the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The NBA center is a 4 time NBA champion, 3 time finals MVP, 1 time Season MVP, Rookie of the year, 16 time NBA all star, 8 time All NBA 1st team, 2 time All NBA 2nd team, 4 time All NBA 3rd team, 3 time all defensive 2nd team, NBA all rookie 1st team, 3 time All Star game MVP and a FIBA World Championship MVP in 1994

George Shinn looking for better start, fire Bower
George Shinn, the owner of the New Orleans Hornets fired General Manager Jeff Bower mainly because the team was poorly built and did not perform very well during the 09-10 season.
Last season, Bower traded Tyson Chandler for Emeka Okafor. He also signed Ike Diogu from free agency. The Hornets drafted Darren Collison at 21st pick of the draft. They also acquired Marcus Thornton for two future second round picks. Jeff Bower did everything to lower the payroll and that was the main reason the Hornets were not able to make the playoffs. “It’s really really sad, I did everything to make a good team but I don’t think I did good enough.” Said Bower
Bower was replaced by beginner James Cartney who will be in office starting next week. “I will make this team better, I am planning on doing major roster changes to make this team a contender again.” Said Cartney. “Everyone in the team should not think that they are not going to get traded, waived, or sent down to the d-league. No one is safe. Even the staff.”
“I’m glad that they are going to make roster changes for the team. It will definitely make us better” said Sean Marks “I am sure that I will stay in this team. I know I did very well last season and I am going to be better. That’s for sure.” Said Marks when asked about the statement regarding major changes in the roster.

Cartney make first move, fire Scott
After team owner Shinn fired Bower two days ago, newly hired general manager James Cartney fire head coach Byron Scott.
Scott was the coach of the Hornets since 2005. In his first two seasons Scott improved the team to finish with almost .500 in the standings. In the 2007-2008 season had a winning record of 56-26 and finished second in the conference but they lost in the second round of the playoffs to the San Antonio Spurs. Scott was also named as head coach of the 2008 All Star Team of the West and was awarded the Coach of the Year Award.
Scott is replaced by Juwan Strickland. “Juwan is a very good coach I think” said Bower “He has a very uncommon style and I think it will benefit the team. We’re already talking about the players that we going to get that he knows will fit well in his system.”
