Ugh i usually like cohen but this was not a strong outing by him. Take away the sextoys and the accent and you just have a mean spirited "gag" being pulled. Borat had cultural/society thoughts behind it. Bruno was all shock value

I found Borat to be the funniest comedy I'd ever seen. Bruno was alright. A lot of it fell flat, but there were some hilarious moments.

Of course, i still laughed quite a bit more than i do during most movies. I attribute that to cohen being epic. But i just expected more.
Just finished interview with a vampire. Not bad but pitt/cruise as vampires is a little far fetched for me

Universal soldier resurrection and bitchslap. I liked them.

been watching a ton of mystery science theatre 3000...good stuff.
Also watched "the New Guy" with eddie griffin and Dj Qualls. Good old stupid teenager movie.

Caught Pandorum with Ben Foster and Dennis Quaid. Basic monsters on a space ship horror-action with some psycho elements. It wasn't bad but it's another film that tries to do too much in a small amount of time, which kind of throws off the storytelling.
Also checked out Armored, with Lawrence Fishburn, Matt Damon(Matt Dillon, I mean), Jean Reno and Columbus Short. They play armored truck drivers who plan to steal their haul, and things go wrong when the plan get's interrupted. It was a good flick, imo.

Matt Dillon...

So, I have watched Avatar in 3D yesterday. I kinda have a mixed emotion on the film. I kinda find it boring in the first couple of hours and still find it boring till the end. Maybe because of the story being predictable? I like the CGI though. Looks kinda real
Want to watch Paranormal Activity because I am curious with it being scary and all.

Watched my namesake today (Tomcats).. Decent movie, absolutely hilarious in some points and Jerry O'Connell was pretty funny.

Watched Star Trek (new one) and Scream (for the first time) yesterday.
Quality flicks. They did a decent job with the revamp of star trek. The only person i could've done without was the russian kid
Scream wasnt all that scary, just kinda funny

My Name is Bruce
A must see for all bruce campbell fans. Basically bruce just being an egotistical mysoginistic asshole. Funny shit. Constant quoting and references to his flicks.
Roxanne
Not a bad modern retelling of Cyrano De Bergerac. Steve martin is a comedy god.

rhythm and seduction with antonio banderas

Well, it's supposed to be somewhat satirical and not serious by any means. Especially dialogue/character wise.
Which becomes even funnier in retrospect since it revitalized the genre and has led to an endless parade of cookie cutter horror films with all the bad tropes they were being ironic about that have slowly degraded into more of a kind of gore porn than horror genre.

Sorely disappointing. Was expecting something with good adult story and beautiful animation. The animation was beautiful but the story was shallow and pretty cliche leaving no closure whatsoever. Not that full closure is necessary, but the movie still needs to feel as if it's ending not just getting going at the conclusion. Epic fail on everyone involved that wasnt in charge of animation...
Although 1 scene was deliciously twisted...
the somewhere over the rainbow playing as the evil machine emerges from the dust cloud was phenomenal

Really? The story wasn't fantastic but I thought it was decent enough (but I'm sucker for any post-apocalyptic movie/game...). I thought the art direction was mindblowing enough to make you forget about the relative lack of depth in the story. I do admit that the ending was a little weak though.

im more of a dystopian guy myself (brave new world 1984 anthem ish) than a post apocalyptic
but my problem was there was little character development of anyone and the few characters that were developed were developed cliche as cliche could be. The ideas were there but the execution just didnt work. I almost feel like as a book or graphic novel perhaps it would've been fantastic. Tell the same story but say..from...9-10 points of view. Could've been great. Give a little backstory on each bot and their obvious purposes etc. i knew 1 would sacrifice himself, i knew 7 couldnt die (being the only girl), things like that

Cloudy with a Chance of meatballs. Cute little family flick.

It was alright, but that's where you see the difference between Pixar and, well, the others, at least story-wise.

Watched Zombieland the other day, pretty funny stuff and reminded me a lot of Shaun of the Dead, which it drew a lot of inspiration from according to the director.
Also saw a commercial today for Smokin' Aces 2 I think, and appears it went directly to DVD, might give it a shot.

Know something awesome about it? Remember the part where the guy drives by and throws a beer can at him? That was an extra and it was not even scripted.
