Two trades already, your as I can see your looking to sign a big time player in the off season, Don't know how Finley and Ilgauskas will help your team but the addition of Powe and Gibson is nice hope you rack up wins soon cause I know you don't want to have that 1st pick :D

Bogut and Jennings seems to be popular nice that they made it in the Allstar team.

Happy New Year to you The X :chug:

Cheers for the nice wishes :chug:

Yep, it seems by results & my trades that I'm going into All-Tank Mode

Am surprised Jennings made it actually. Very surprised. His numbers might be worthy of ROY but they definitely aren't All-Star numbers (15.9ppg, 7.3apg, 1.7spg). I could understand if Bucks were winning, but we stink.

I'm not overly surprised that Bogut made it, although I think there were definitely more deserving players.

The price you pay for 29 game seasons. Guess it brings a real life elements of snubbing to my Association though :P

I'll probably let people know the All-Star teams tomorrow.

Happy New Year also :P

Thanks. Who knows, if he contributes then I might try to re-sign him to help me next season.

Any thoughts on the Redd trade to Cleveland. There was talk of Redd going to the Cavs the last few years so thought given Cavs' mediocre record & LBJ's pending free agency that it wasn't too unrealistic. Hope people like it :P

Fins & Z don't really help me at all. The latter is the pickup of an expiring contract. The deals I have made are suddenly making me a player (not a major one) in free agency. If I don't net anything this year, then will try again in 2011 :P

Also doesn't matter if I get 1st pick. It's a good asset to have :P

As far as both the trades went, I was a lot more comfortable with the Redd one to Cleveland than the Alexander-Spurs deal. However when the Spurs made me the offer, I thought what the hell, lets roll with it since the real life Bucks refused to exercise the team options on Alexander last off-season.

Hum...I love the fact that you have received 2 very serviceable big men in Z and Powe, but Boobie Gibson's contract is just hideous....
overall a B grade for you on this deal (Y)

Will my grade drop if I release Z after the All-Star break?!?

Hmm, maybe I'll play him. I feel like winning a game or two & also experimenting with the team's lineup to work out who figures to be part of the team's future.

I like the Redd deal, though I like it when players stick with a team their entire career. Hate the Finley deal though. (N) Might as well keep him if you can;t get anything of value.

I also like when players stick with the one team for their entire career. Unfortunately for Redd I just wanted to go a different direction.

Can understand you not liking the Finley deal. Spurs made me the offer. I figured I had no plans to re-sign Alexander so just took the deal. But yep, could prove a mistake, but ahh well, what's done is done I guess.

Re: X's Bucks Dynasty (7-16) *POLL*

Postby The X on Fri Jan 01, 2010 9:43 pm

Yep, am starting to have second thoughts on the Joe Alexander deal just because it doesn't make any realistic sense for it to happen. And he's worth more than a mid-2nd Round draft pick. Anything less than a 1st Round pick is a waste. So am thinking I'll void the deal based on Finley failing physical.

I've opened a poll looking for opinions on the Bucks-Spurs trade. The poll only runs for a day, so please vote without delay. I don't mind which way it goes, just want it to not affect Association in negative way.

Cheers,
X

I think both deals are pretty good.
I mean, the Spurs could definitely have a try with Alexander. They are well known for accounting to the strenghtes of their players as well as integrating them. Look at the likes of Mason and Bonner or guys like Bogans.
Finley could definitely help you but if I was him I'd rather retire after the season :D

The Cavs deal is just for the same purpose. Getting rid of big contracts. I guess it was a very realistic solution with Z being on the block in real life. Just like Finley, if I was Z I'd rather retire now.
All in all. sweet deals, X. Good job!

Maybe get Turner inthe draft and let him and Jennings be your main guys with Bogut doing the dirty work. Definitely looking forward to it.

Cool, glad you don't mind Spurs' trade. I'm still 50/50 on it. I am of same thought that Spurs can get more out of him than what I am. Please vote in poll that I put up. Cheers.

But yes, I'm thinking I might just release both Z & Finley (if I keep that deal going through) so they can sign with contenders if they wish.

Who knows what will happen with lottery & draft, but should be exciting off-season nonetheless :P

It's fine. You could also change Finley's contract to zero and trade him back to the Spurs later (like many veterans do it ... I remember Brent Barry being involved in a deal, than waived and later picked up again).

Yep, I did think about that. Considering that they have full roster, maybe I'll take back the D-League guy they signed & then waive him. Maybe I should grab the Spurs' 2011 2nd Round pick also. Sweeten the Joe Alexander deal ever so slightly for me so that it's worth two 2nd Round picks.

You can still get some quality burn from Finley and Z, guys who came in are a good athletic boost (powe, gibson), and you've set up to make some significant off-season moves; I'd say nicely done (Y)

Good job getting two all-stars in. A couple of bad snubs there, but all the players who made it are reasonable choices. This looks great compared to the all-stars in Martti and dare's dynasties. :P

Yep, I'm actually quite happy with how they've turned out. Bogut wasn't too bad as he's 2nd best centre out East, just narrowly beating out Brook Lopez and David Lee. I think Bosh (averaging 23 & 12) should've definitely been backup PF, Granger (27ppg) should've made it and Joe Johnson (20ppg on League-best Hawks) should've definitely been there. I think Jennings might have made it due to his great PER (19.6) & that's why he beat out a few bigger names for the final spot in the East. Would've preferred to see him not make it this year.

I can't complain with any inclusion out West as they all deserve to be there. Kevin Martin (league leading 31ppg) probably should've got the final spot ahead of Billups though, but maybe record came into account.

Rookie-Sophomore teams are more or less perfect with the glaring omission of Tyreke Evans, who was favourite for 6th Man of Year & 2nd favourite behind Jennings for Rookie of Year, before going down with a sprained ankle for a few weeks. Sucks 2k can't factor in that he should be there regardless of injuries. Ahh well, all in all, pretty good.

And to anybody who is wondering, since trading for Redd, the Cavs spanked the Hawks 103-64 & picked up another win against Bobcats, so are now above .500 :P

Glad the trade as had the desired effect for them (so far) Would've hated to see them or Lakers miss the playoffs but both are looking pretty good now, as are Suns (Y)
