Looking back at 2009...

Postby Andrew on Thu Dec 31, 2009 3:14 pm

What has 2009 meant for you? What kind of year has it been?

On the whole, 2009 was a much better year for me compared to 2008. It started out kind of badly as one of my closest friend's father passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer but since then it's been a pretty good year for me personally and professionally and I'm much happier in both areas compared to last year. Aside from a couple of my friends getting married, 2008 was kind of a bad year but 2009 was a huge turnaround. Not having to deal with the NLSC going down for hours at a time has alleviated a lot of stress that was present last year as well and while it hasn't all been good news on the NBA Live front, I feel that on the whole we had a better year as a site and look forward to bigger and better things in 2010. The year has really flown by though, especially the last six months. It only seems like last week I was waking up to the news of Michael Jackson's untimely passing, yet that was way back in June.

Hope everyone enjoys whatever they're doing for New Year's Eve, be safe and I'll see you in 2010!

Horrible, horrible year.
Stuck in a miserable job, no money to save or do fucking anything, health issues, car trouble,...
I thought 2008 was bad but 2009 was much worse for me.
Hopefully, things can't go any lower than that in 2010.

In any case, happy new year to everyone Image

I wish I was dead.

Nothing wrong really, just wanted to say that before I really die. :P
2009 was neither here nor there. Nothing amazing happened and the people who contributed to the bad things to me this year are probably swimming in a shite pool of their own crap, in my mind anyway.
The whole year was a 'meh'.

2009 was a terrible year for me. Just horrendous. I'm glad it's past. So many bad things for me happened in 2009, there are also some excellent moments, but the bad outweighs the good.

OK , not that bad year for me
though not sth good in relationships this year
Really good year at my basketball team, played many games starter , not missing a single one.
But not the moment that would blow me away

Fortunately not sth bad this year ,previous year there were many close relatives of mine who passed out, but @ 2009 fortunately was a quiet year at this sector

Hopefully 2010 , which comes in 14 mins(the time i write this post is 23-46 GR time!) will be better...

It was a good year for me personally, as I got out of a long depression, made a lot of new friends and got my life back together. Shitty year for my family as my parents split up and my Aunt's cancer came back. Hopefully these last three years of existence for this earth are good ones. :P

Awesome year for me. Got back on track with the study, did really well in my new retail job, then got work experience close to my field of work before being asked to come back full time and paid at the end of the year. It was the year I turned 21 so lots of celebrations for me as well as my friends who also celebrated 21sts. (Y) Lots of fun in 2009! I don't think 2010 will match it as a lot of study ahead of me if I wanna finish my degree asap!

Stuck in the job for 2 years now, experiencing the heavy storm first-hand, and Lakers winning the championship makes my 2009 lame.

2009 has probably been my worst year evert to be honest, but all I've learned throughout this year will change who I am as a human. So many friends, family members passed away this year (a total of 8 to be exact). Because of this I've learned so much and appreciate life so much more. I was going to make this thread before Andrew made it. This year was so painful, breaking up with my girl friend, getting back with her. Losing weight, gaining, and now losing again. This is all so hard and I feel stressed beyond my years. My year ended with a hospital visit on December 23rd, and I have heart problems now.

Now as for 2010, I got a new head on my shoulders and I'm more focused then ever. I am starting the new year by having a job interview tomorrow for the U.S Census. (Y) (Y) for 2010.

Tough to hear that for some of you this has been the worst year of their lives etc. I hope you all stay healthy and experience a lot of good things in 2010!!

For me personally, it was a very nice year. My civlian service ended in June and I had maybe the most beautiful summer of my life being on vacation in Portugal with my gf and having fun with my buddies after their exams.

I started studying in October and after a big dilemma of what I should study, I am so glad that I chose the right thing.
My family is doing extremely well, my parents are on their best financial status since the late 80ies I guess and although it's tough to say that, I think when you have money everything is better.

Once again, I wish you the best for 2010 guys.
