For the Irish :P

I was thinking whether me as sixth man would work for the Irish. :P

If we played a halfcourt game, I would be a good sixth man. If we played an uptempo, fast break game, you would be sixth man :P

I'm no 6th man as when I am, I come onto the court & we're down double digits  The only time we worked with me as 6th man when we had more firepower with Jimmo/Conrad & also Devin, along with you, Yip & Ben. But no, I think team can't handle me as 6th man anymore

Btw, I'm a gun in the fast break system. I control defensive backboards & start the break. I usually start at least 50% of Irish fastbreaks

Favors is definitely a interesting guy for you (and me). He seems to be an explosive hustler.
Interesting is also the Aldrich comparison, since it seems like you'd take Lopez over Kaman (which I wouldn't)

All in all good job, loving it.

Merry Xmas all. Glad everybody seems to like the college updates. Might have some smaller ones later in season if the mood calls for it.

LINE OF THE NIGHT
By The X
26 December 2009

Joakim Noah: 34mins, 0pts, 0-2 FG, 13rebs, 1ast, 1blk, 1TO

Whilst his numbers may not look flashy, they do demonstrate one thing, that Noah is more concerned with his team winning than putting up gaudy offensive numbers. That should come as no surprise to anybody that watched Noah in college, where winning was always paramount, as he helped lead his team to back-to-back NCAA titles, including wining Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four in the first of those two titles.

Aside from hitting the boards, Noah also limited the usual Bulls-killer Andrew Bogut to 10 rebounds and 8 points on only 4 shots in the game. That was enough to help the now 7-3 Chicago Bulls to the win.

Tough injury for Bogut. Seems like you did not get anything done with him being out on your texas trip. I dont understand why you don't score more with Redd though. I thought he was quite good in the game.

Yep, but that's the way it goes. I pumped up sliders a little bit to increase injuries, so now I regularly have at least one player, sometimes two out or playing hurt.

Unfortunate timing though, considering I was 5-4 & now I've slid to 5-7 without him. Even when he's not dominating, he's about my only interior presence & I've missed it.

I don't know what the problem is with Redd, I just can't seem to get him going. Maybe I'm getting his release all wrong on his jumper.

Yes, I did struggle without Bogut on my Texas swing. Almost got both games but lacked rebounding mainly, as you will see by Yao's rebound total when I recap the Rockets' game tomorrow.

Thierry. wrote:Jennings' playing really good too (Y)

Yep, Jennings has been a bit more solid, that's for sure :P Plus Ridnour has been pretty shite too, meaning I'm relying on Jennings more.

LINE OF THE NIGHT

31 December 2009

Yao Ming: 36mins, 26pts, 10-16 FG, 6-7 FT, 21rebs, 4asts, 3blks, 1stl, 4TO's

Expected to be out all season with a broken bone in his left foot, Yao used a combination of surgery and alternative Chinese therapies to make a very quick recovery in time for the start of the 2009/10 season. Whilst he started slowly with the Rockets easing Yao back into the fold, his mammoth game in a win against the Bucks well and truly stamped his return to the NBA.

With no Bogut inside to slow him down, Yao just went to work & just controlled the inside and did whatever he wanted as he helped lead the Rockets to its fourth straight victory.

Jason Kidd: 42mins, 12pts, 4-6 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT, 10rebs, 11asts, 5stls, 1blk, 2TO's

Kidd went old school as he notched his 104th career triple double in a win over the Bucks. He also won the individual matchup with promising rookie PG Brandon Jennings (14pts, 11asts, 3stls).

Re: X's Bucks Dynasty (5-7) *BUCKS-HEAT MAKE MINOR DEAL*

Postby The X on Sun Dec 27, 2009 1:59 pm

BUCKS-HEAT MAKE MINOR DEAL
By The X
3 January 2010

Miami receives: PF/C Kurt Thomas (1 year, $3.8m owing)
Milwaukee receives: SF/SG James Jones (1 year, $4.3m owing with 1 year, $4.6m team option), Miami's 2010 2nd Round pick

THE SPIN

Miami: Whilst the Heat have Haslem & O'Neal inside doing the dirty work, they felt they needed another quality big body come playoff time. They felt giving up a player in James Jones, whom they weren't really using, and a mid-to-late 2nd Round draft pick was worth it to land Kurt Thomas.

Milwaukee: On the back of three straight losses and in danger of free-falling, Bucks' GM Tom Hammonds felt he needed to make some sort of move. The Bucks felt they needed more offensive firepower from the perimeter and feel that the addition of James Jones will open up the floor a little for others.

THE REALITY

Miami: The Heat are already looking ahead at the playoffs with this deal. Kurt Thomas' deal expires at season's end so it's a no risk deal for the Heat.

Projected Lineup: J. O'Neal/M. Beasley/Q. Richardson/D. Wade/M. Chalmers/U. Haslem (6th)

Milwaukee: This deal probably doesn't look like it helps the Bucks much on paper, but James Jones' length on the perimeter was something that the Bucks had been lacking so far this season. Jones' contract has a team option for next season but unless he explodes, it's unlikely that they will exercise it. The 2010 2nd Round draft pick from Miami probably won't amount to nothing but might be used in future deals or on a prospect to stash away in Europe.

Projected Lineup: A. Bogut/E. Ilyasova/C. Delfino/M. Redd/B. Jennings/C. Bell (6th)

Re: X's Bucks Dynasty (5-7) *2 GAMES & BUCKS TRADE*

Postby The X on Sun Dec 27, 2009 2:13 pm

ADAM MORRISON'S FINAL CHANCE - TRADED TO T'WOLVES
By The X
3 January 2010

Los Angeles Lakers receives: SF/SG Sasha Pavlovic (1 year, $1.5m owing)
Minnesota receives: SF/SG Adam Morrison (1 year, $5.3m owing), Houston's 2010 2nd Round pick (acquired by Lakers previously)

THE SPIN

LA Lakers: Adam Morrison's agent demanded a trade out of LA to a situation where he could earn some minutes and the Lakers sent him in a deal to the T-wolves in exchange for some cap relief and luxury tax savings.

Minnesota: Sitting bottom of the West, the T'wolves are looking for any sort of spark and are willing and able to take a chance on former college star Adam Morrison. Gaining another 2nd Round pick in this summer's NBA Draft doesn't hurt either.

THE REALITY

LA Lakers: The Lakers made the trade to keep roster harmony, they make $8 million of savings (cap and luxury tax). Another good day at the office for the Lakers.

Projected Lineup: A. Bynum/P. Gasol/R. Artest/K. Bryant/D. Fisher/L. Odom (6th)

Minnesota: The T'wolves are just biding their time and this is a PR move to save face whilst they continue to lose. Does anybody really expect Adam Morrison to still have a good NBA career? Either way, he's got just over half a season to prove so. Otherwise he's probably out of the League.

Projected Lineup: A. Jefferson/K. Love/C. Brewer/W. Ellington/J. Flynn/R. Sessions (6th)

There goes a few updates for you guys. As for why I went ahead & moved Adam Morrison, I forgot to turn CPU trades OFF & 2k went ahead & gave Love for Artest & I just couldn't let that go through (at this stage). I went to try to reverse it but salaries didn't match up as Lakers are over cap. Using Ammo was the only way. I thought it was a nice twist anyway & not too unrealistic :P I also pumped up Ammo's ratings slightly to add in some increased confidence. He's still only a 58 now so he's not going to set the World on fire, but maybe he'll get a chance. Who knows?!? We shall see :P

Yep, guess it's like the real life Bucks. They've had at least 3-4 heartbreaking losses this season (Nowitzki buzzer beater, Kobe dodgy no-charge/blocking call & Tyreke Evans' layup).

As for trade, strangely enough the Heat offered me that deal. Usually 2k deals are crap, but I thought it was solid. Didn't accept it straight away as I needed the size of Thomas against Rockets & Mavs before Bogut returns from injury. I then did the deal with the Heat. If Jones performs, he may get a chance to start at SF since Delfino has struggled of late (currently injured with separated shoulder).

Postby hova- on Sun Dec 27, 2009 9:30 pm

Just as in the real life game agains the Mavs. Two tough losses, ridiculous 21 boards for Yao. I edited his rebounding a bit downwards because when you play against him he will simply grab them because of his height.

For the salary thing. You can also edit the salaries to zero, then trade the players and then edit them back. That is what I use to do. (did on the Maynor deal for example)

Thanks for tip re nil salary. Didn't even think about that. Will come in use. I've actually taken to turning CPU trading inbetween games but turning it off on days I've got games. 2k trading engine sucks at moment, but hopefully as seasons pass & situation gets away from real life, I won't mind it as much.

But yes, just like IRL Bucks lose narrow one to Dirk & Mavs. I won't edit Yao down much, maybe only for offensive boards, which were the major problem.

Sit wrote:Like seeing you stock up on picks altho 2k rookies dont turn out any good.

Remember that I am using downloaded draft classes so they may not be so bad. Although likely is that 2nd Round pick is a waste unless they are specialist (i.e. rebounder, defender, 3pt specialist).
