Postby Uncle Drew on Mon Jan 19, 2004 5:27 pm

Andrew, I d/ld your latest version of rosters (1.03) and when I went to load 03-04 rosters (000 folder) I got a code base error and the game locked up without loading the roster. Had to reboot to get out of it. Anyways here's what the error said Error# -210 Error # 94003
Unrecognized field name d4 field number Nickname ID Don't know if anyone else has had this problem, Just wanted you to be aware of it.

It does the same thing on 001 002 and 003. Tried to load each one. It froze up big time. Hope you can find a solution for this.

Sorry, I wasn't online last night. I wasn't aware you had posted until now.

I don't think the DBF files are corrupted, as I would experience the same error when testing the roster patch - and I don't. :?

To find a solution, I'll have to try and re-create the error. Are you doing anything differently when you install the rosters? What exactly did you do when you installed the rosters?

Also, if anyone else is having these problems, let me know.

I'm having the same problem. The previous roster release worked fine, but this one crashes on load.

Andrew, I didn't do anything out of the norm. I unzipped the rosters to the required directory, started the game, went to load/save, seen all three rosters were there. Picked the first one 000 clicked on load, it froze on the spot. Had to reboot, came back tried to load rosters with injuries, same thing occured. So I'm stuck. Don't know whats next. Waiting on your reply.

For me the game doesn't freeze - it crashes back to Windows (2K) where I get a bunch of those error dialogue boxes. I'll try to install the rosters again and list the specific errors.

Does it happen when you try to load a particular roster? Is there anything strange about the rosters in the Load/Save screen?

No Andrew its nothing strange at all about the rosters. They look just like any other roster update you created, they just won't load. When I go to load them, my mouse pointer freezes on the screen, then i have to reboot. It happens on each roster file, 000, 001 and 002. Nothing personal
but until you can find a fix, I downloaded Ben's rosters from nba.org and they seem to be fine. I like your rosters, but I can't use this version.

Ok, for whatever reason the rosters are working for me now. However, the sliders have not changed...just the players are on the correct teams (I assume their ratings have been adjusted too). I guess I'll have to adjust the sliders manually.

I didn't do anything special to get it working..just deleted the nbalive.org rosters and reinstalled the NLSC ones.

Sliders aren't part of the roster patch so installing new rosters won't change them.

This might sound like a stupid question, but are you trying to use the NBA Live 2003 rosters with NBA Live 2004, or the NBA Live 2004 rosters with NBA Live 2004? I recently had an email from someone who was having similar problems; he had downloaded v1.13 of the Live 2003 roster update and was attempting to use it with NBA Live 2004. Very easy to do, especially since I released and announced new versions of both rosters a day or two apart.

LOL, ya Pistol u might wanna check that. It's possible that I made that mistake the first time.

Andrew, is it possible to automatically update the slider settings with the roster patches? Just wondering.

If I included the config file containing sliders, it would change all the other settings (including details and other options), so it's best that I just include the sliders in text format.

You know what Andrew, you were absolutely right. I misread the announcement on the home page to be 2004 not 03. That probably will do the trick. Is there anyway to have your rosters as well as Ben's in my directory? i would like to have both at my disposile. I think his file is in folder 000.

Not automatically. But if you load and save the rosters to another slot so that they will not be overwritten, you can install both patches side-by-side.
