Tracy McGrady "I'm playing tonight"

Postby Fcuk Orlando on Wed Dec 16, 2009 11:23 am

T-Mac on facebook said hes going to get some playing time, I dont exactly know what channel its going to be on, but I sure am going to watch the highlights tomorrow night. If only I didn't have midterms to slave over :(

A.I: practice? practice? we talkin' 'bout practice. not the test - practice. we talkin' 'bout practice. not the test, not the test - practice.

Tracy said he's gonna play weeks ago,but he didn't.
But if this is really true,I'm gonna watch all the game, just to see if he know's basketball at all now.
Gonna check the start of the game, there should be a report or something from the Commentators for sure,if he will play.

My brother will be happy that he played. Gonna watch the replay tonight. Not for T-mac though, he only played in the first quarter anyway.

As for the Rockets, Chase played well in his first career start. The X will be happy. :)

To be accurate, T-Mac didn't say it himself that he's going to play. Adelman told him right before the game that he's going to play, it was a last minute decision by Adelman.

I'm really happy to see him back on the court again, I was all smiling when I first found out. :D NBA.com sent me an e-mail wishing me happy birthday yesterday, but basketball wise, to watch T-Mac play again is probably the best birtday gift I could ask for. ;)

It remains to be seen how much he'll play now he's back, given the supposed rift with Adelman.

Perhaps they will play him a little bit each game, increase his trade value, and then trade him at the deadline?

I don't think that would increase his trade value too much. I think anyone interested in trading for him will be doing so purely for the $23 million that will come off the books at the end of the season.

Adelman said he'll play McGrady roughly about 8 minutes per game in the next 6 or so games, just to get him used to the game speed and to see how he's doing on the court. He's got a long way to go before he fits in with Adelman's system.

I noticed he only played seven minutes again in his second game back. Easily the highest paid 7 mpg player in the history of the league.

Cant really do much about it considered that his contract was offered back when he was one of the top players in the league if not one at just 24 years of age.

Well, yeah, he wasn't signed to that contract with the intention of playing him only seven minutes a game. There are certain factors that have brought T-Mac and the Rockets to the present situation.

Yep. The biggest factor would probably be his injuries but there are other factors such as all those drama that's been going on.

I'm happy T-Mac's slowing coming back. He was always my second favourite player growing up, behind Vince Carter. I always thought he was going to be better than Kobe (third favourite player), up until he was plagued with so many injuries. The same goes for Carter. If they stayed healthy, there's no doubt they would be up there with the likes of Kobe, LeBron and D-Wade. Anyway, hopefully McGrady will be able to regain his old form, or at least come close to it.

I think the fact that Carter just doesn't seem to care is much more an obstacle than any given injury.

Since around the time he demanded Toronto trade him, or thereabouts.

I'm assuming you're talking about when Carter admitted that he "didn't try as hard" near the end of his tenure with the Raptors. Well that was actually taken out of context. It was all about playing in the summer and how he approached his summer workouts. He wouldn't try as hard in the beginning of the summer, but when the middle and the end came, he gave it his all. Even John Thompson (the guy interviewing him) apologized to Vince for how it was misconcieved. It's crazy how much editing can do.

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the period of time when Vince Carter stopped utilizing his athletic gifts to his greatest potential and started taking 20 foot fadeaway jumpshots.

Ahh, my bad. I see what you're saying. Yes, Vince's last days with the Raps were certainly not pretty. But as a Raptors fan, I'm over it now. It's been five years. It's time to move on. I will admit though, I despised VC for the first one or two years after he left Toronto.

Yeah, I actually find it kind of sad that Toronto fans still boo him... For every semi-respectable Raptor fan I meet there are always like 50 12 year old brats/50 year old snobby idiots who pretend to know what they're talking about.
