Carl Landry loses 3 teeth, two in Dirk's elbow

The dude has lost 4 teeth (1 from the playoffs against the Jazz), torn an ACL, and have been shot in the last 3 years.

He leads the Rockets in PER (14th in the league).

What a beast.

Landry is one hell of a player. He's a really tough guy. Notice how after he got hit by Dirk's elbow, he just stood there, hands over his mouth, pointing for a towel. Dirk was twisting on the floor screaming. Get well soon, both of them.

Brutal, I saw that during the Bucks/Cavs game. Dirk needed some stitches as well, the teeth having become embedded in his arm. Landry obviously got the worst of it, but that's a nasty collision.

I think Dirk had three stitches. Carl has lacerations into his gum because the collision. That's gotta hurt. And all of this happened even though Carl was wearing a mouth guard.

EDIT: ESPN just updated their article. Looks like he cracked five teeth.

Five of Landry's teeth were cracked on the play, knocking the Rockets' forward out of the game as well. Landry was called for fouling Nowitzki as the All-Star forward drove hard to his left to set up a short jumper and caught Landry with his right elbow.

The Mavericks found pieces of two teeth imbedded in Nowitzki's right elbow and had to spend 30 minutes cleaning the gash before adminstering X-rays which were found to be negative.

Landry was immediately taken to an emergency room for treatment.

Looking hard. Landry's a tough guy though. Bad to see the Mavs loosing without Dirk. A close game, but I thought they should win such games. The Rockets are just a very nice team without their stars. Hustling hard.

so sad landry and dirk are both out. landry is such a tough guy. i hope the two of them return A.S.A.P., even though that's unlikely.

What a bad way for Dirk to be injured. Just when he is putting an impressive numbers and the Mavs are doing well. I hope he will return soon.

It's bad for Mavs but it's worse for Rockets I think. Especially, when the Rockets are fighting for 8th seed.

With Budinger hurting his ankle last night, the Rockets doesn't have much firepower they have been relying on from bench. Maybe Tracy can get back to his old form quick so he can help.

Why would it be unlikely for them to return ASAP?

What a collision, Landry seems to be one hell of a tough guy though.

Thread title is one of the best this year so far.

Why didnt he wear a mouthpiece? Every player should wear a mouthpiece. Maybe the NBA should force them

Update on Carl Landry: He underwent 5 hours of dental surgery, performed by Rockets team dentist Dr. Thomas O’Brien who performed a series of procedures including a root canal and two dental bridges to repair the damage. He's listed as day-to-day.

Budinger will be out a minimum of two weeks. That's some serious sprain.

WTF! Out for 2 weeks? C'mon!

I hope he really returns to his old form. He still has what it takes to lead a team. Tracy's just playing 2 to 3 minutes a game.

two weeks isnt a serious sprain at all really. If you truly dont want to risk more injury 2 weeks would be about the lowest degree sprain you could get.
