Question about power Dribble move

Mon Jan 19, 2004 11:39 pm

Sometimes when you press on the power dribble move the player either jump or spin on the spot.
Am i able to know which player does what by the ratings only?

Either that, or as you continue to play the game more you'll have a feel for everybody's capabilities, especially their drop steps.

It seems to me like it depends on your player's position. I think if you're facing the basket you'll pro hop...but if you're sideways you'll do the power dribble.

By the way...the power dribble is just as unstoppable as the pro hop.

i think its there handling ratings becuase you can't pro hop with ben wallace he will always power dribble, but Pau Gasol can pro hop.Ben wallace will power dribble from the 3 point line

It will be a combination of things, dribble, speed, size of player, score area maybe even dunkpack!!

Generally, power forwards and centers default to the power dribble and small forwards, shooting guards, and point guards default to pro hop. Not always true though, for example, Mo Taylor defaults to pro hop even though he is a power forward. But the player's position is a good measure of what to expect.

As EG said, if your defender is all over you when you execute the move, all you can manage is a power dribble regardless of your dribble ratings, etc.

Some players can do Pro Hop. Every player can do power dribble; to do a power dribble, dribble on the spot without moving and press the power Dribble/Pro Hop button

In my opinion it's just about the ribbling attribute. I createdEd O'Bannon and he would only spin and stop. I raised his dribbling and now he gets the power move.

I think any player can do the power dribble ( close to the basket ) and also the pro- hop ( from anywhere on the court ) with the right control buttons. On the gravis eliminator i have set my controls so. Button 3 does only the pro-hop . The power drible is button 3 in combination with button 6. That's how I discovered the power dribble by pressing does two buttons.

it's the turbo button 6 Also if you tap the pro hop/power dribble move button you do either a pro hop or power dribble. If you press it longer you do the pro hop or power dribble, maybe in combination with the turbo button. I'm not sure, but it does work, I tried it with smaller players too, and all players do both moves.

Has nothing to do with the size of the player...Try to pro hop with Fred Jones of the Indiana Pacers!!

It has everything to do with speed & quickness...dribble rating factors the players ball handling skills (lower dribble rating, easier to steal from)
