Somewhat scarily, we're less than two weeks away from Christmas 2009. Anyone have anything special planned for the holidays?
I'll be doing the family thing on Christmas Day then meeting up with friends on Boxing Day to exchange Secret Santa gifts then basically just hang out, BBQ and have a few drinks. Other than that it will be business as usual, no trips or anything planned at this time.

We will have the usual exchanging of gifts here in our house that have been a tradition since the time I could remember it and also I guess we also gonna have a kind of street Christmas party. After that I will have to wait for New Year to arrive then go back to the usual stuff.

I'll try to meet up with high school and college friends, and of course a video game marathon if ever the video card is replaced with a new one.

Given your seasonal username, your failure to mention stealing Christmas disappoints me greatly.

That was a failure every year since I started it. Drinking helps in forgetting the failure of it all. Killing Santa is in a future agenda, since stealing Christmas doesn't work, might as well kill one-half of the source (the other half being Jaesus).

Do you get time-and-a-half or double-time for working public holidays? That ought to lessen the sting a little.

My understanding is that QLD and WA are the only states who have gazetted the public holiday to dec 28 (i think gazette is the right term)... shops are still open on boxing day (26) but double and a half pay only is paid on 28th. Whereas other states are paying penalty rates on both the 26th and 28th.
