I've played Game 1 already. It was lots of fun... and one of the teams won on a buzzer beater. :)

They nearly did. I was worried they would. But I got like a 5% of winning the number 1 pick now... or maybe even worse odds than that

Looking forward to the playoffs. Glad my Nuggets avoided the Blazers & the Stealth, although the Hornets are going to be real tough 2nd Round fodder (provided we can take care of those upstart Warriors) (Y)

I don't see the Lakers disposing of New Orleans... Yes, Denver needs to shut down David West and Tyson Chandler if you are to advance... but I think you guys can do that with Nene and Kenyon Martin and Dice - maybe not Dice. Your backcourt is better than theirs though, X, Melo, Billups vs Webster, Paul, and some random SF

I'm a bit late but good luck anyway. Will ALIB II be retired if you win it all? Then I hope you get busted in the Conference Finals or maybe even in the Finals :)

Not sure if you got it right. If you end this one after winning it all (Championship), then I hope you get thrown out before the Finals --> i.e. I hope you have to come back for another season ;)

I understood you the first time. :P

It's a matter of real life commitments... I don't want to say we're close to the end but I can't guarantee this will go for another 2 virtual seasons. :P

Monthly Recap: April
Part Two: Around The League

Monthly Recaps are divided into several parts in order to give readers a quick and organized overview. Part Two of the Monthly Recap is the ‘Around the League’ recap, which features player awards, transactions, and other League news. Part Three will feature a Team Focus feature on the Phoenix Suns!

League News

Chara, Gray Win Monthly Gongs

Moses Chara of the Sacramento Kings finished the season with another Player of the Month award while Milwaukee's Jay Gray captured another award in a stellar rookie campaign.

Jay Gray, Ray Lliach Named Rookies of the Month

Jay Gray looks like a uanimous pick for Rookie of the Year as he completed a sweep of Rookie of the Month awards for his full rookie season. Gray has finished the season averaging a double double, and leading the league in rebounds. The Bucks experienced an amazing turnaround after Gray took to the helm and became the focal point of the team; prompting rumours that Michael Redd is on the outer as Milwaukee plans to build around the star big man.

Injured PG Ray Lliach took out Western Conference Rookie of the Month and would be a lock for Rookie of the Year in any other season after taking the Clippers back to the playoffs and forming a potent one-two punch with PF Amare Stoudamire.

Wade And James Want Eastern Conference Showdown

The Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers are the two top Eastern Conference teams. Players from both teams expect to see each other once the Eastern Conference Finals roll around. NBA superstars Dwyane Wade and Lebron James wouldn’t mind that happening.

“To be the best, you need to beat the best,” Wade said, “We have great games against the Cavs, they are the only team that can knocks us out.” James has the same opinion, “The Heat have been one of the best teams in the NBA for the last few seasons and a championship would not be fulfilling to me if we did not beat them. I want to play against them in the third round.”

Utah Jazz Relieved Season Is Over
The Utah Jazz’s horror season is over and although most of the team is relieved that the ordeal is over, the 32-50 side does not look forward to the next Summer. Despite signing All-Star SG Joe Johnson, the team was not able to improve from the year before.

In added some bad news for the team, the usual incentive of finishing low on the standings does not transpire this time around. As one Western Conference scout explains, “The upcoming Draft class is a very weak one. The Jazz aren’t going to get any better… sadly.”

Chara: Next Season Will Be The Season

After coming a few wins away from making the NBA postseason, Moses Chara feels even more compelled to get his side into the NBA playoffs. “Next season is the season we make it,” Chara stated, “I know I’ve said it for two years now but we’ve been getting closer. It’s pretty good for a one man team.”

The Kings will need to add a lot more depth in order to compete for a playoff spot but with the rapid improvement of their star player, it seems that it is more than possible that Chara will finally make good on his promise.

Durant Finishes As Scoring Champion

For the second straight season, Kevin Durant finished as the NBA scoring leader. The fourth year SF of the Seattle Stealth claimed that winning the scoring race was as big as getting his team back in the playoffs.

“We were looking pretty down back in December but I really got my scoring going and kept us in for most of the season. Then I started scoring even more to get our team into the playoffs. That’s why leading the league in points is so important to me, it’s a measuring stick that proves that me scoring more translate to higher team success,” Durant explains.

He later adds, “Don’t forget – Seattle Stealth, my team baby!”

Tim Duncan: Clock Ticking

Tim Duncan’s season came right down to the wire and cruel fate forced his team out of the NBA postseason by just one game. Duncan took it harder than anyone else on his team and vowed to make a return to the swimming pool in order to slim down and improve his fitness.

“I’m getting older but I can still play. It’s just that the clock is winding down on my career so I need to prolong it,” Duncan stated. The Spurs’ PG Tony Parker said that the whole team would follow Duncan’s lead, “We’re all going to join him in the weights room and the swimming pool and go running and all of that. We’re focused as a team, we want to keep winning.”

Oh man, Durant only third team, WHAT A PITY! ;) I guess he is too one dimensional. James and Chara are just more all-around. Looking forward to your Playoffs. I thought Chara was a soph though ...

They put Moses Chara in the 2nd team over Durant, who is the league's leading scorer, seems a bit silly... Unless Durant really lacks on defence, but I don't know. Also, how can this upcoming draft class be weak if I'm in it?

I don't see San Antonio making the playoffs next year, I think they're finished now.
