Kobe Bryant's Unbelievable Game Winner

Postby cavs4872 on Sun Dec 06, 2009 4:20 am

This happened last night against the Heat. I watched most of the game, until I kept falling asleep. I was way too tired so I decided to go to bed with around five minutes left in the fourth quarter. :wall: God, I would've have loved to watch the end of this live.

if he did that, he would be forever be "almost" MJ. im talking about Bulls vs Jazz '98.... the final shot. win a title like that and you're # 2 all time.

It was a spectacular play, but I have to admit the whole lucky shot/skilled clutch shot debate from last season's Playoffs comes to mind. I still feel it's a combination of luck and skill when it comes to off-balance shots like this - particularly when they bank in, which I'm guessing was intended - but it doesn't make them any less impressive or fun to watch.

As I said in the Heat thread, Dwyane Wade will surely regret that missed free throw for at least the next 24 hours.

I don't hate him nor LAL, actually a bit now, but anyways, I just hated that shot and I don't think he's better and worked harder for that kind of shot so it's a luck shot all the way.

What makes it lucky is the fact that it banked in, in my opinion. I doubt that was his intention so that's where skill ends and good fortune begins, though a good shooting touch is going to aid in getting a friendly bounce, shooter's roll or being on target for the bank.

I assume that is not the play Phil Jackson drew up during the timeout.

What an amazing shot, even if it was luck that is such a difficult shot to make. But yeah trust Kobe to be the one to make it, and right in Wade's face as well. :P

What's funny is how Artest kept raising his hand up after the inbound asking for the ball. What makes him think that he's going to get the chance to shoot the game winning shot when he's on the same team as Kobe?

Insert joke about Artest drinking at halftime here

In his defense, Artest was wide open after the inbound and had Kobe missed the shot, we'd probably be talking about how they should've (or at least could've) used Kobe as a decoy and gotten it back to Artest who had the better look.

True, true. But we all know Kobe will take the shot anyway, be it off-balanced or on one leg.
