a problem with logitech dual analog controller?

Postby sccommish on Tue Dec 23, 2003 10:31 am

Is anyone having an issue with this controller when moving to the right, it's as if the player is moving in slow motion? I've tried recalibrating, but it does the same thing. The only other thing I can think of is that it might be a bad controller, although I will say that it seemed to work fine when I first got it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I HAD that problem, I have no idea how I fixed it but it's not the controller. I thought it was the controller, so I went back to the logitech rumblepad for a few weeks but left the dual action plugged in. After a while(month or so) I got sick of the rumblepad and just went back to the dual action. It has worked ever since (about 3-4 weeks now). I am listing what I did to my computer inbetween when it worked and when it didn't, but these aren't proven fixes-

Upgraded Directx to 9.0b
Installed latest Logitech controller drivers/program(I also keep LWEMon.exe(Logitech profiler) running while I play games
Downloaded something from Windows update(web security fix, etc)
I ran the Controller Calibration deletion tool(from Logitech) a few times(not in a row)
Changed the Dual Action's USB slot
Updated Nforce2 drivers
Ran Defrag(norton) on all my hard drives
Updated Video card drivers

i never did this but i thought of it - uninstall USB drivers in Device Manager, then either restart and let it reinstall them or scan for hardware changes and it will reinstall them. You can do the same thing for your controller.

Good luck to you guys

There was a problem with the first batch of controllers that were sold. They would stop working after awhile. Mine worked until Dec, then it stopped working. I called logitech and I'm waiting on my replacement. Try installing the software and testing it in another game.

I just noticed recently, taht I can't turbo when moving to the right
(not up/right, or down/right), just when moving to the right.

The left run functions work fine.

I had Logitech drivers 4.25
I just dled 4.3

And I can run fine now.

That seems to fix the bug.

There is a topic that discusses this problem.

I posted this sometime towards the end of the last year when Live first came out.

The Dual Action is defective. Aside from P Dub's comments, a lot of the users on the Logitech User Discussion Forums state the same problems.

It worked for me like the first day and the next day Vince Carter could only dunk from his right.

Also, if you're looking for a failsafe controller, spend the extra bucks on a Super Dual Box from MayFlash found on www.merconnet.com. It's a USB converter that'll convert your PSone/PS2/PSX controllers into PC controllers.

If you've got WinXP no need to install drivers. It's great. It's a bit costly... but it'll save years and years of hassle.

I have the Thrustmaster Dual Analog which is only $20 USD and the ThrustMaster Dual Power which was $30 USD. Never had any problems out of them and I've had them since Live 2003 came out

the logitech s_cks. I have the same floating problem. The Thrustmaster dual analog I use was near perfect in 2003. Oddly though 2 of the 6 gamepads I own have begun drifting in 2004 as well.

Dudes go to Radio Shack and for $10 you can get a PS2 adapter that you can hook into your USB slot and play sports games with your PS2 controller

Shadow Knight, Do you have to install the drivers that came with the adapter? Also should I uninstall my logitech drivers from my old pad?
Please reply. Thx
