Re: Marek's Patching Thread| HAWKS alternate 09-10 PREVIEW

Postby Marek on Sun Nov 29, 2009 8:45 am

Guys, I have a huge problem. I can't import any original number file from this HAWKS alternate to the old Altlanta jersey numbers. I don't know why, but when I try to import the new ones, my FshX and DOLFFIN crashes :? (in both cases C++ runtime library error). I don't know what's going on, because I had no such problems, when I converted GRIZZLIES alternate. Therefore, I was forced to take old numbers from Atlanta home, but unfortunately, the frame on these numbers is red :? (the new Atlanta alternate has dark blue frames).
Then I thought to myself, that I will edit this old numbers (change the frames to a desired dark blue colour), but both programs once again crashed when I tried to import them back! :? God damnit!

Anyway, here's how it looks at this moment:

I'm open on any suggestions, maybe you have any other ideas, how to import the old numbers back (after changing the frame colours), without any crashes? Or which numbers should I choose to put them into this new alternate to look better? Remember - the best option is to get white numbers with dark blue frames.

Postby Andrew on Sun Nov 29, 2009 8:52 am

Looking good so far. (Y) I encountered similar problems when trying my hand at converting the jersey a few days ago. Using FshX, I was having some success extracting the numbers from the NBA Live 08 patch as .dds files, using GIMP (with the .dds plug-in) to cut and resize them and then import them back into the number files for NBA Live 2005. The only problem was resizing them properly to fit the required dimensions for NBA Live 2005, my attempts were leaving the numbers stretched a little out of proportion. With a bit more patience however (I had other things I was working on with the rosters), it might be a viable method though.

Re: Marek's Patching Thread| My statement

Postby Marek on Wed Dec 02, 2009 12:23 am

I would like to announce, that I won't do another add-ons for NBA Live 2005. Everything has changed two days ago, when I played 3 games on NBA 2k10. I just couldn't believe my eyes - everything was better than any EA's NBA Live game. Absolutely. I must say, I played some time ago few games on 2k9 (and I didn't liked it), but this new 2k10 is different. The gameplay, the atmosphere is just amazing, a real enjoyment. Therefore, I bought and entirely switched to NBA 2k10.

I want to thank all NBA Live 2005 crew from this forum section, for all the great time and patches you gave to me. Special thanks goes to Andrew for his neverending support to the NBA Live series throuhgout the years. You're the true GODFATHER of NLSC. Thank you.

I invite and encourage all of you to familiarize and test 2k10. You won't be dissapointed.
At least just look at this gameplay: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rykztn68DiI
The choice is yours (Y)

I'm not saying I'm leaving NLSC forums - I'm just saying, that I'm done with NBA Live 2005. I'll still be here. Take care!

Truly yours
Marek

Hmm .. NBA 2k10? I must say its really good,.. the gameplay, the audience, plays, the moves, atmosphere the arts.. but put it in a way, the requirements of the game is too big. The ram and Video graphics, can't afford it to play the game, but to me, if I have a choice I must choose NBA 2k10 not only its the latest but the enjoyment we fill when playing the game...

So good luck Marek.. Hope enjoying playing NBA 2k10... :D :D

I'm not uninstalling NBA Live 2005 as for now, guys. I still like to work with files, with photoshop and so on, so maybe sometimes I will make for you some add-on, patch or someting

As for 2k10, I've overclocked my Pentium Dual Core E5200 from 2,5 GHz to 2,8 GHZ, and the game is working with all maximum full details. You just need minimum GeForce 6600 with shader model 3.0. I got GeForce 9600 GT, so the game looks like in HD. Still I encourage you to try out 2k10. Maybe you can try to earn some money in the future, to buy good graphic card for 2k10? Anyway, I won't leave you

Sorry to hear that Marek, but I understand; it's difficult to go back to an old game when you've found a more up to date one that you prefer. NBA Live 10 does a much better job of matching up to NBA 2K10 (as one would hope), but being a console only release there's only so much we can do with it. Anyway, sorry to hear you won't be patching 2005 anymore but thanks again for all your efforts to date. :)

Guys, if you'll need me to convert some jersey, to make any graphic file (logos or anything) just let me know through this thread, and then I'll see what I can do for you  I said I'm done with Live 2005, but not with you... Just keep that in mind (Y)

dare wrote:Sir Marek what is the system requirement to play the 2k10 in maximum details Im thinking to buy one

I don't know what are the minimum recquirements to play on max details, but I got Pentium Dual Core E5200 2,5 GHz overlocked to 2,8 GHz, GeForce 9600 GT, 2 GB RAM, and I play on maximum settings without any lag. But I must say, 2k10 is not well optimized, because sometimes people having little lags (2k10 needs strong processor to run smoothly).
