Cricket [AUS v WIN]

So is anyone on this board actually interested in cricket, or at least the series on at the moment? :P

The West Indies are touring Australia at the moment, should be a good series and a chance for Australia to finally find some proper test form. I might go to the 3rd day of the Boxing Day match in Melbourne, that way it won't be as packed and we'll still get to see a bit (or glimpses) of action, unfortunately cricket is just that sport where you don't know what you're going to get, so it could either turn out to be a great day or a disappointment.

Australia batted well today, shame that Watson opened with an LBW duck though, but he has the ability to redeem himself next innings. I'm also genuinely happy that Hussey is starting to make some scores too, I've wanted him out of the test side for the last 3 years for his constant poor performances but I hope he can shut me up for this series.

I don't expect much (if any) activity in this thread, just throwing it out there for any possible cricket fans.

I've watched as much as I could. Australia look to be in a really solid position, but Ramdin is always a pain in the ass. I'm in favour of Hughes getting back in the side over Watson. Watson is a good player, but he's a makeshift opening batsman at best.

I agree about Hughes, he is a proper opening batsman who should be in the side, he averages just over 50 runs as an opening batsman and would actually fit very well in that number 1 position. Knowing the Australian selectors though, it'll take 2 series of poor Watson performances before Hughes actually gets another ride it. :|

I can't wait for the 3rd day today, I want to see some stumps fly!

Thanks for replying.

No worries, Cricket is like my equal favourite sport, along with basketball of course. Missed Hauritz' almost hat-trick... damnit! Hilfenhaus is bowling great though

Yeah that was great, I laughed when he just went for the slog instead of playing defensively. West Indies are in trouble at the moment, I think Australia have them covered for this match.

I hope the Windies can pick it up the next game, they're my second favourite international side

Yeah, their batting performance wasn't very impressive... I'm a fan of the West Indies too, but I'm happy with an Aussie win.

Next match begins on the 4th of December. :)

Chris Gayle

Test cricket is pretty frickin boring. Obviously I'm not a true cricket fan if I'd rather watch a 20/20 lol. 50 over matches should be ceased playing I believe, it should be just tests and 20/20's

I'm actually not a fan of 20/20 games at all. I've always thought of cricket as a game involving some sort of strategy. There is strategy in a 50 over game as you have to protect wickets whilst trying to score at a good clip. I find 20/20's very boring because it's just boundary after boundary.
