Editing Computer Generated Rookies in 2K10

Postby trailrunners on Thu Nov 19, 2009 1:25 pm

Can computer generated rookies be edited in-game in NBA 2K10? It would be nice to change the names of the fictional players to real rookies. Are there any draft classes available?

Thanks!

I actually downloaded the draft class on 2kshare that is the most downloaded and currently doing a rough edit on it to my liking. You could always start your own draft class through the manage roster menu I believe, and load it when starting a new association. But just in case anybody finds a good and accurate draft class on 2k share it would be nice if the creator and file name would be shared here.

A couple of the real draft classes I just downloaded don't look too bad. They had two players at 80 which were the highest ratings. Can you edit the draft class only prior to the Association starting, or can it be edited at any time during the season prior to the draft?

In 2k9 the draft class could be generated throughout the season schedule so I'm guessing it would still be the same in 2k10. I'm not sure if you could edit the ratings tho. From what I remember you could only edit the accessories and other stuff except the ratings in 2k9 while in the middle of a season.

Yeah, you can edit the draft class right when the season starts in Association. The great thing about 2K10 is that you can change the names of the generated prospects where you couldn't in 2k9 and you had to use a dbf editor to do it and it was a pain in the a**.

I actually downloaded a 2010 draft class on 2kShare, which is also another cool new feature, and edited it a little more. I don't know how accurate all of the ratings are, but I have real names for almost all of the prospects and I believe correct size/weight, college, age, correct skin tone, etc. There were about 5 prospects at the bottom that are still fictional, but the rest are real prospects based on the NBAdraft.com 2010 mock draft and top 100 prospects lists. Basically, I ran out of real prospects that are likely to get drafted in 2010, so there are a few fictional names in there still. Most likely the fictional players won't get drafted thought since they're the lowest rated players.

I'm thinking about uploading this draft class to 2kShare. I really like this new feature being able to edit the prospects names fairly easily in 2K10. Once the season starts, though like Type.R said, I don't think you can change the names of the prospects. But, you can still edit them a little.

I'm thinking about also editing a 2011 draft class based on the 2011 NBAdraft.com 2011 mock draft and top 100 prospects list.

Uploading a good 2010 and 2011 draft class would be amazing (Y)

IIRC, in 2k9 we could edit names, sig style, etc etc but we couldnt change anything aside from eye color for appearances.

I am also doing my own draft class edit like you are. I downloaded and tried a few and got the best one to my liking and edited it. I lowered the rankings for the rookies at around 60-70-ish because some of them are really rated high. I based my ratings upon Blake Griffins base rating on 2k9 which is 77, so the first few top prospects I think should only be around that number or even lower. I was wondering what ratings do you have for your own edits. If ever you get a chance to upload your draft class in 2k share let me know so we could compare.

I uploaded the most downloaded draft class from 2K share, assuming it would be reliable and for the ages of the all the prospects when I go to scout them it has the year they were born instead of their actual age! instead of it saying a player is 19 years old it says they are 1990 years old... anyone know what's up with that?
