Class of 2009 Left-Handers, etc

Postby Andrew on Wed Aug 19, 2009 7:03 pm

Before I get the new rosters out (and even after I do), I'm on the lookout for information and corrections on left handed players who have been set as right handed in the rosters. I know of a few left handed players amongst the Class of 2009 rookies and have already made them left handed in the rosters accordingly, but if anyone has a more comprehensive listing of the left handed players in this year's Draft, please let me know so that I can make those changes before I get the next release out. The same goes for any players from last season who've yet to be corrected

After the next update comes out, please feel to keep sending me feedback about left handed players, either 2009 rookies I've missed or returning players who still need corrections and haven't been spotted yet. :)

http://www.draftexpress.com/

easiest way is to type the rookie's name in, and on the left hand side, if they are lefty, it will be listed under their "strengths" section

for example

basically just type in the rookie, F3, search for left, if nothing comes up, keep going. I did this for my initial post draft Live 09 rosters but never wrote anything down.
Opinions are my own.

I was actually doing that while creating them but I've got a feeling I've missed at least a couple of players. I'll definitely be retracing my steps there but I was kind of hoping someone would have a list (or know of some offhand) to save me going through all the profiles again and doublechecking that too. ;)

The complete list of lefties (alphabetical order):
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailydime ... -091121-22

• Joel Anthony (Miami), Michael Beasley (Miami), Andris Biedrins (Golden State), Chris Bosh (Toronto), Derrick Brown (Charlotte) Mike Conley (Memphis), Goran Dragic (Phoenix), Derek Fisher (Los Angeles Lakers), Manu Ginobili (San Antonio), James Harden (Oklahoma City), Brandon Jennings (Milwaukee), Acie Law (Charlotte) David Lee (New York), Josh McRoberts (Indiana), C.J. Miles (Utah), Darko Milicic (New York), Troy Murphy (Indiana) Lamar Odom (Los Angeles Lakers), Morris Peterson (New Orleans), Tayshaun Prince (Detroit), Anthony Randolph (Golden State), Zach Randolph (Memphis) Michael Redd (Milwaukee), Kareem Rush (Los Angeles Clippers), Josh Smith (Atlanta), Beno Udrih (Sacramento) Delonte West (Cleveland), Marcus Williams (Memphis), Brandan Wright (Golden State), Thaddeus Young (Philadelphia)

Two special cases:

1. We didn't include him on this list, but our team-by-team check to make sure no lefties were left out returned this tidbit from the Clippers: They regard Chris Kaman as fully ambidextrous. There is no official ruling on the matter because "handedness" is not something officially tracked in the NBA as seen in, say, baseball or hockey. The Clips, though, contend that Kaman is equally good with both hands.

2. The Cavaliers reminded me of something I had forgotten: LeBron James eats and writes with the same left hand he appeared to injure with that vicious throwdown in Wednesday night's loss to Washington.
