How do i install the roster without having to repatch every player? Everytime I load a new roster, all the cyberfaces for players that were not originally in the game are generic.

that's normal, I can't add patched cyberfaces with the roster, because not everyone has the same patchs names, and that will make the roster crash (like DP's one for instance)

Here's the best thing to install your cyberfaces once you've downloaded the roster, I've already wrote about it in an older thread. You've got to create a big bat file

alexboom wrote:There are two ways to create a big bat file :

1/ Gather all your bat files from the cyberfaces you've download. Open every bat file with notepad (right click on the bat file and choose "modify"), copy all the lines starting with "blotch00" and paste them in a new notepad file.
Once you've done it for every cyberface, save your new notepad file in your live 2000 main folder with the .bat extension (call it "players.bat" for instance) (make sure that in the "save as" box, you selected "all files" in "type" list)

2/ If you no longer have all the bat files of your cyberfaces, you have to do it by yourself, it took me a long time for me (that's the way I did) but it really worth it.
i looked at my "art\ingame\players\update" folder, noted the name of every cyberface (0LEJAMES.fsh for LeBron James for instance...) then for every cyberface in a bat file that I create with Notepad, I wrote :
blotch00 saves James,LeBron 0LEJAMES.fsh
blotch00 saves James,LeBron ir T
blotch00 saves James,LeBron ic F
blotch00 saves James,LeBron co 5

blotch00 saves => call blotch.exe which will change your roster
James,Lebron => indicates the player (no space after the coma !)
ir T and ic F => useful for created players, indicates that the player is not created and has his own cyberface. if not indicated, the game crashes (not useful for player who have a cyberface in the original game)
co 5 => changes the body color to make it match with the cyberface, not necessary if the player has already in the game the right body color. 1 is the brightest.

Then, save your new notepad file in your live 2000 main folder with the .bat extension (call it "players.bat" for instance) (make sure that in the "save as" box, you selected "all files" in "type" list)

New patches are coming so quick ! thx, Alex.

btw I can't access your site right now. Is it just me?

days ago I started a new franchise with the 0.29 but I'll switch to 0.30 right after downloading the new one.

Is the salary scale changed to be more realistic like Rasheed getting 17M a year in the new patch?

I don't know if the site had some problem, all i can say is that the URL alexsite.fr.st sometimes doesn't seem to work, so I advise you a lot to use alexsite.fr.tc

the realistic scale of salaries shall be coming during the next month, if i can get enough free time :)

thanks for your support, guys :)

v. 0.32 is out

Postby alexboom on Fri Jan 09, 2004 2:12 am

v. 0.32 is out, with all the latest trades. I also added an edited schools.dbf in the patch, so now every player has its own school (a few of them were missing, especially for european players)

i'll do further improvements next week. Here are the tasks I will work on :
- automatic installation, like Live 2004 rosters by Andrew and Ben
- edition of teams windows colors, for teams who changed logos (Denver, Cleveland ...)
- a slot especially for franchise mode. older player will retire normally, and young players like LeBron James won't see their ratings drop because of the 4 years gap
- adjusting ratings for created players who have still a lot of "75" ratings

(credits go to marcel for helping me to say gap  )

I appreciate your continous hard work on the patch.

alexboom wrote: - automatic installation, like Live 2004 rosters by Andrew and Ben

I've tried Ben's patches before but I prefer the way it is now. Unzipping the file has lower chances for any possible errors than executing the series of commands in the automatic installation batch files.

kewl! :D

Cuz I trade away those 75 guys. I don't trade for them either when I play franchise games. They are like young scottie pippen from PG to C. Hurts the balance of the game.

Its in the teams.dbf. MAINPLAY, SUBPLAY and DEFPLAY. They determine the plays a team use most.

If MAINPLAY1 is BOX and SUBPLAY1 is 4, then thats BOX4.

Hope this is what u want.

A tip in case you haven't done it already:

A lot of players who aren't in the default rosters still have their career stats in career.dbf. You can easily match up created veterans with their career stats by changing their PLAYERID. For example, if you create Dennis Rodman, by changing his PLAYERID to 108 he will have complete career stats (up to the 1999/2000 season).

No problem. (Y) If you've got older NBA Live 98 and 99 and the appropriate Toolkits, it makes the process a little easier. ;)

By the way, do you mind if I list your roster update in the NBA Live 2000 Roster Patches section in our Downloads database? You would of course receive all credit for it; it would simply be a listing for convenience.

Redbulls, I've uploaded :
Travis Hansen, Jiri Welsch, Kendrick Perkins v2, Brandon Hunter, Chris Jefferies, Tayshaun Prince (unoquepasa & dirtdog versions), Kareem Rush, Keith Bogans, Lonny Baxter and Jarron Collins.

Mike Dunleavy, Derek Fisher, Caron Butler, Tim Thomas, Frank Williams, Marc Jackson, Qyntel Woods, Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje, Bruce Bowen v2, Alvin Williams and DeShawn Stevenson are already on an old server. To download them, make a right click on the preview then chose "save as". Make sure also that you disable programs such as Download Accelerator.

Nikoloz Tskitishvili, Marco Jaric, Eddie House, Devean George, Dan Gadzuric are on unoquepasa's server. So you gotta email him to ask him to put those patchs back online.

Have fun !

My email has been having problems lately, so I'm not sure if you notified me of the latest update. Just checking a couple of details: are the rosters updated through January 27th, 2004, and is there anything else I need to change in the database entry?
