Will be keeping an eye on this one. (Y) Hopefully you play out the season like your KG-led Bulls back in the day... however, as we both know, time for games becomes scarce as we get older.

Nice, I was wondering how long it'd be before you started a dynasty. I'll do my best to follow this coz I do like how much detail you put into your dynasties.

Oh, and good luck :)

Excellent choice of teams (heh). Nice, mediocre squad you have. Very solid, realistic first moves as well. Looking forward to the first recap. (Y)

Good to see you starting a dynasty. Cool for you, that the Bulls have definitely improved over the year and have a strong roster even without BG. Good luck.

Signing Kleiza was a great decision. (Y) He's a very underrated player. Everyone always seems to find a way to get Gerald Green on their roster. He's a solid pick-up for your team.

Thanks everyone. :) Sorry I've been neglecting this, more updates coming soon. For now, here's a bit of a season preview.

Bulls looking to build on last season's success

Image

Following a 41-41 season in 2008/2009 and one of the most dramatic and exciting first round Playoff series in years, the young Chicago Bulls are now attempting to regroup and take that next step in the wake of Ben Gordon's departure. Gordon, the Bulls' leading scorer for the past four seasons, signed a five year deal with the Detroit Pistons this offseason, leaving the Bulls to once again establish a go to scorer. Last season's Rookie of the Year Derrick Rose, forward Luol Deng and John Salmons (acquired along with Brad Miller in a midseason trade last year) figure to fill the void at the offensive end but additional help might just come from Joakim Noah, the third year player who has been working on his post game this offseason.

Image

Noah, who averaged 14.2 ppg as a sophomore in college and 12.2 ppg as a junior, has brought an energetic game to the Bulls in his first two NBA seasons particularly at the defensive end but has been more passive at the offensive end, contributing a modest 6.6 ppg so far in his brief pro career. That figures to change this year however, with the Bulls looking to get Noah more involved offensively in their continued bid to develop a more effective inside game. Chicago will also look to offseason acquisitions Linas Kleiza and Gerald Green to provide scoring off the bench. Both have demonstrated an ability to knock down the long range shot and get to the rim, making them welcome additions to a team looking to replace a 20 ppg scorer. Jannero Pargo, returning to the NBA after stints in Europe with Olympiacos BC and MBC Dynamo Moscow, is also expected to see some time in the backcourt where the team will no doubt call upon his ability to fill up the basket in limited minutes.

The Bulls will also be counting on Luol Deng to return to the form he showed in 2007, having missed 52 games in the past two seasons including the entire Playoff series against the Celtics. They are also hoping to see further growth from Tyrus Thomas, who may end up battling rookie Taj Gibson for the starting power forward spot. With Derrick Rose established as the team's starting point guard, veteran Kirk Hinrich is expected to anchor the second unit but with the addition of Pargo and return of Lindsey Hunter, Hinrich may also see some time alongside Rose as the team's shooting guard.

Few are expecting great things from the Bulls this season, though co-captain Hinrich suggests that might work to their advantage. "It hurt to lose Ben, but we're looking forward to getting the season started," he commented after a pre-season game. "Everyone's expecting us to do anything special this year but we plan on surprising them. We think we're a better team than a lot of people give us credit for."

The Bulls open their season October 29th at home against the San Antonio Spurs.

Thanks guys. :) Corrected an error in the article, for some reason I referred to Noah's sophomore and junior seasons in college as his freshman and junior seasons. Fixed it up.

Would if I could, bought a new PC a month ago so I can't justify another big purchase at this time. Highly tempting though. ;) I actually captured those screens by recording some footage to DVD, importing it on the PC and taking a screenshot. Didn't turn out quite the way I was hoping it would, the video quality is alright while it's playing but it's lousy for screenshots.

I dont think the screens are too bad. Really like the Bulls analysis. Would be nice to see Noah stepping up like he does in real life.

I reckon they're OK given the makeshift capture technique I used. ;) I'll definitely be trying to get Noah involved offensively as in real life.

Sorry for the lack of updates, but now that the second update has been released and the replay/lock-up issues appear to be fixed, I should be able to get into this without fear of having the game lock-up on me halfway through.

Sorry guys, still getting used to the game post-second update and frankly, the Bulls aren't a lot of fun to play with. I actually made a whole bunch of trades out of disgust for the current lineup but that didn't feel much better to play with (too stacked and unrealistic) so I might push the reset button on this one or try another team, at which point I'll start another thread. Stay tuned...hopefully. :)
