You'll want to check this out. The process is basically the same for 08.

I believe it's the other way around, you'd need to edit their ratings first so that the game recognises the class as strong or week. I'm not 100% sure on whether it can actually be influenced though.

I'd say so. Just be careful, copy a few to begin with to make sure you haven't messed anything up, then repeat the process as many times as necessary.

That means there's a corruption or invalid data in appearance.dbf.

Start again, just try copying one player and see if it works.

The players.dbf and appearance.dbf files for a Dynasty save contain two copies of the players on your selected team, one for comparison purposes between seasons. If you copy the players.dbf and appearance.dbf files from a roster save to a Dynasty folder, you won't have those required duplicate entries and the game is likely to crash. You'll need to edit the Dynasty save directly, just be sure to make a backup first. Please see the tutorial on adding draftees for more information and to make sure you've covered every step.

You can use MS Excel 2003 and the spreadsheet utility that comes with OpenOffice but generally speaking DB Commander is the safest program to use.

If you don't want an entry for a player assigned to any team (including the Free Agent pool), change their TEAM to 32 and they won't show up in the game. They'll also be automatically cleared from the database when you start a new Dynasty game.

Thank you for the response..

So, changing the TEAM to 32 will make a player out in the league?
For example, KG would not play in any team?
I only want Kevin Garnett and other players out of team adidas, not out for the whole league..

I will make it a custom team..

Well, thank you for the advices.. I appreciate it bro..

Yes, it will mean they won't show up at all in the game. However, Kevin Garnett and the other players on Team Adidas will still appear on their respective NBA teams and any other All-Star teams they're assigned to. Players who appear on multiple teams have a separate entry in the database for each team they appear on; ie in the current roster update KG has an entry that places him on the Celtics, another one for the East All-Stars and one for Team Adidas. None of them conflict with each other so if you change the entry for Team Adidas and remove him from the active rosters by changing his TEAM to 32, he'll still show up on Boston's roster and in the East All-Stars.

Can you tell which entry on the database? I'm really confused.. I changed Garnett's TEAM to 32, he still showed up on Team-adidas.. thanks in advance

It'll be the entry whose TEAM value is set to the ID of Team Adidas. That's how you can tell the different entries apart; 0-29 are the NBA team IDs, 30 and 31 are the East and West All-Stars respectively and so on. You can refer to teams.dbf as well as the guide in the NBA Live 08 section to see which ID number corresponds to each team.
